i'm having the same/ similar issue. gapps package not working, haven't tried not installing the gapps and only the rom, but this has been an issue across a few dif roms, slimbean, liquidsmooth, carbon, all for the sprint s4. i'd really love to run the liquid smooth rom, it's too nice. it doesn't matter if i have wifi on or off, just won't connect to google to dl my apps. i've done full wipes between every rom, is this wrong? forgive my noob-ness. any and all help is appreciated.

Check your MD5 sum on the Gapps also. You need certain Gapps for certain ROMs also.

downloaded the gapps from the rom page, though they all look to be the same. i know in recovery i have the md5 box checked (think it means not to make 1??) should i change this? i usually wipe in TWRP recovery (the factory reset/ wipe data), should i go to advanced and wipe dalvic/cache/data separately, then flash the rom, then wipe again, then install gapps & boot? again, sorry for all the noob questions. i bricked my s3 by not reading a rom post thoroughly and put an international rom on it (wouldn't turn on after that - had an upgrade from sprint so used it for the s4).

I would welcome any help here. I have a Grouper N7 that until recently was running the XenonHD rom on the 4.13 bootloader. Due to travel that I was on I encrypted the tablet, but now that those circumstances are not happening anymore, I upgraded the bootloader to 4.23 and then flashed the JWR66V factory stock image. One all that was done I rooted and installed TWRP 2.6.3.1. I have tried SmoothROM, ButteredGrouper and Slim (all 4.3.3 roms) and while everything seemed to flash properly, all of them get stuck in the animation while booting. I even tried downgrading the bootloader and reflashed the last official version of XenonHD and still got the same results. So far, the only way I have been able to get the tablet to boot all the way up is to flash the stock image, and that is just not good enough...
Any ideas on what I am missing?
When going from ROM to ROM you need to do a factory reset in your custom recovery prior to flashing the ROM

Well, I feel stupid. I just tried downgrading TWRP to 2.6.3 and that fixed the issue. I guess I never realized that 2.6.3.1 had issues since I haven't flashed a new ROM in a while... Geez.

Hi, I have the 2012 Nexus 7, Wifi only, 16GB, its running stock 4.4.2 rom at this time. I have unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp, and rooted using Wugs Nexus Rootkit (Bless him lol). But now whenever I try to flash any Rom, I've tried about five from different places and downloaded on multiple devices then put them on my nexus, and they will not install. I get this error about md5 which I have no idea why it would be the error every single time I try any different Rom... But here is what it says.
Here are two different ones but both say md5

Try switching to CWM using the rom manager from the play store. I had the exact same problem. Everytime i wanted to flash something via TWRP it would always fail, but once i switched to cwm the problem went away

I pretty sure you dont have to downgrade to 4.3 to flash a 4.3 rom. As long as the tablet is rooted and the rom you want to flash is for the N7 it should work, at least it always has for me but TWRP seems to be having a problem flashing roms lately...correct me if i'm wrong tho

My last post lol..... I did some research and found out the old version of TWRP has problems on 4.4 so you might have to update TWRP to the lastest version in order to flash zips on 4.4 kitkat. There's a post somewhere around here that mentions it and has a guide that tells how to install the lastest version...

I rooted my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 previously and was running the Jasmine Rom on Safestrap 3.75. I followed the directions and everything worked fine until i ran out of space and wanted to make a new rom slot. Then i began experiencing more issues. Every time i went to go reboot after the safestrap menu it would just go into a black screen. I figured maybe it was something with the rom, so i tried to install the hyperdrive rom and the same thing happened again only this time the blue led indicator came on with a black screen. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Only use stock rom slot just make a backup before you flash. As to the black screen have you flashed the nc2 beforehand. ?

Did you wipe and factory reset? Along with cache and delvik? I wipe then wipe cache and drlvik a few more times. Be careful when you run low on space certain ROM's need more space Than others.

Radio is the same as the one from the 15-3 build.
Latest Twrp should work, install like you would install a nightly (wipe cache and dalvik cache) or do a clean install.

Thanks for the video!
Tried installing it - but failed. I had Exodus 5.0.2 before (CM12-based). Do you know if I have to start with flashing some kind of old firmware first to make the CM12S installer happy? The error I got in TWRP was something like "your device is A0001 and it should be Bacon" (or the other way around). I wiped everything but internal storage first. I use a fairly old TWRP, 2.8.3 multirom - could that be a problem?
This zip I used, I just flashed with TWRP.
I did have to flash Supersu to get root though and I flashed it right after and just before I rebooted to system for the first time.
I also did a full wipe of dalvik, cache, system and data. It already has the firmware update built into it and gapps so the one zip is all you need unless you want root and then just flash latest Supersu

Thanks - so it seems I should be in shape then regarding firmware and since I wiped everything but internal storage. Weird. I'll guess I'll try and update TWRP later today and give it another go afterwards. I have to work a couple of hours first. Exodus had to do for now

it should be here
https://cyngn.com/support
but it doesn't.
It was first posted in Reddit, if I'm not mistaken:
http://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/32iby5/so_it_begins/
I flashed it on my girlfriend's OPO and it seems fine. You'll want to flash SuperSU afterwards to restore root. Since my unwitting beta tester has no ill effects, I will flash it on mine (just kidding, she volunteered! )
So is Cyanogen 12 = CM12S? or are these two separate things, seeing conflicting opinions here.
Would this work if I flashed it on 44S? (I never updated to 05Q)
is it possible to flash ONTO the official nightly cm12 rom?
Hi there,

Steps:
1. Boot to TWRP recovery
2. Select wipe, advanced wipe(Dalvik cache, system, data, internet storage and cache)
3. Wipe successful
4. Install (Select Aurora ROM, skip zip file signature verification)
5. Mounted system, data, cache and micro sd card
6. Confirmed flash and stuck at installation begin.
Thanks,
The steps u followed are perfect...
Then on which ROM you were before installing aurora if it was other than stock ROM then first try going on the stock ROM and then installing the aurora.
Because I too faced same problem with the Dr. Ketan ROM and first had to go on stock and then install the rom . it worked for me I hope it works for u
