Hi, I have the 2012 Nexus 7, Wifi only, 16GB, its running stock 4.4.2 rom at this time. I have unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp, and rooted using Wugs Nexus Rootkit (Bless him lol). But now whenever I try to flash any Rom, I've tried about five from different places and downloaded on multiple devices then put them on my nexus, and they will not install. I get this error about md5 which I have no idea why it would be the error every single time I try any different Rom... But here is what it says.
Here are two different ones but both say md5

You need to downgrade to stock android 4.3 as you are trying to flash a 4.3 Jellybean ROM

Try switching to CWM using the rom manager from the play store. I had the exact same problem. Everytime i wanted to flash something via TWRP it would always fail, but once i switched to cwm the problem went away

I pretty sure you dont have to downgrade to 4.3 to flash a 4.3 rom. As long as the tablet is rooted and the rom you want to flash is for the N7 it should work, at least it always has for me but TWRP seems to be having a problem flashing roms lately...correct me if i'm wrong tho

My last post lol..... I did some research and found out the old version of TWRP has problems on 4.4 so you might have to update TWRP to the lastest version in order to flash zips on 4.4 kitkat. There's a post somewhere around here that mentions it and has a guide that tells how to install the lastest version...

I would welcome any help here. I have a Grouper N7 that until recently was running the XenonHD rom on the 4.13 bootloader. Due to travel that I was on I encrypted the tablet, but now that those circumstances are not happening anymore, I upgraded the bootloader to 4.23 and then flashed the JWR66V factory stock image. One all that was done I rooted and installed TWRP 2.6.3.1. I have tried SmoothROM, ButteredGrouper and Slim (all 4.3.3 roms) and while everything seemed to flash properly, all of them get stuck in the animation while booting. I even tried downgrading the bootloader and reflashed the last official version of XenonHD and still got the same results. So far, the only way I have been able to get the tablet to boot all the way up is to flash the stock image, and that is just not good enough...
Any ideas on what I am missing?
When going from ROM to ROM you need to do a factory reset in your custom recovery prior to flashing the ROM

Well, I feel stupid. I just tried downgrading TWRP to 2.6.3 and that fixed the issue. I guess I never realized that 2.6.3.1 had issues since I haven't flashed a new ROM in a while... Geez.

Since the lock info is almost completely contained in Qfuses on the SoC, it should work just fine to put a normal verizon rom on it...I don't know why you wouldn't just use an AOSP rom though...
Thanks. It is for my GF....she's needs the stability. And on CM ROMs the GPS doesn't work. Maybe I can convince her to try something different though. Ha.

Nope didn't boot. Gave it about 13min
I had to flash TWRP in Odin to restore.... (A scary couple of minutes. Lol)
You really can't brick these things. Just create an unbrick image (there's a thread about somewhere around here) and put it on an sdcard. I'm serious--I absolutely hosed my phone (no bootloader) and that brought it right back.
Of course, I'm not issuing a _challenge_

I am running this new update and so far everything is good.marshmallow is very well optimized only mistake many users do is they dont do factory reset after each update.
Flash firmware and immediately do factory reset so you can get clean fresh operating system.
I know factory reset sucks and pain in the ass to restore apps and stuff but trust me it's worth it.
The 20â„… shutdown battery issue i made complete tutorial how to fix it.

Is there any issue with rooting these later builds?
And.. your talking to a guy that wipes his internal storage with each ROM change..
so factory resetting is not an issue with me..
When these things updated back in Sept/Oct my N4 went from a Perfectly Working device to one that, I could pull it out and it would be shut off.. then.. it got to a point it would not come back on without letting it set for a WHILE.. or needed to be cooled in the freezer.. so I put it down and got a Zmax Pro.. GREAT phone but it cannot be rooted ( Screw You ZTE ) I want root.. so I'm willing to go back to whatever version of Android makes this device the most stable or this latest version.. as long as it can be rooted
Im still a rookie

It makes it very hard for Linux/Firefox users, who just want to download the file directly, and use a download manager like DownThemAll to handle large downloads. I can't download anything from that Website.

First before do anything make a back up in twrp of your current rom go to twrp and back up and backup ( boot/system/data/efs/modem). Then you can try things i mentioned below cuz if anything goes wrong you can easily restore your current backup rom without losing anything.
1,Uninstall bloatware system apps you dont use to make your device run more smoothly.
2, install adaway adblocker to disable adds in apps and browser.
4,install busybox to make root more stronger.
3,you can install xposed modules.
4,you can install lucky patcher to hack many games.
5,
And much more the lists are endless but be careful what you are doing and make sure to backup otherwise things can go wrong anytime try on your own risk.

Hello guys! I've followed the simple root tutorial found on XDA and i've managed to root my S5 with no problem (i don't have any knowledge about this stuff cause i am a newbie,sorry...). After that ,i've successfully flashed TWRP Recovery and tried several ROM's but every one of them failed (bootloop on RR, corrupted zip on Note 7 ROM etc),anyway,it was late and the next day i needed my phone so i installed the Official Stock S5 ROM (6.0.1) found on XDA also (flashed with Odin). The problem is, i can't root it anymore. When i try to do the exact same thing i did with auto-root and Odin everything works except SuperSU ("There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it"). I've tried everything! And when i say everything , i mean it. Even KingRoot, wipping everything, trying to root again, the advices found on this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/su-binary-installed-supersu-install-t1928764 and nothing works..if anyone can point me some directions , give some advices, i would be very happy! Thank you guys! I'm willing to try anything.

Hi guys,
So yesterday i was trying to install the One UI rom to my S7 Edge, but i messed up in the process. I think the problem started when i installed the latest version of TWRP (twrp-3.3.0-0 i think), and then i reinstalled a previous version of TWRP over this one (twrp-3.2.3-0).
Anyway, after doing this my phone went into full bootloop with the logo "SAMSUNG S7 EDGE ...." on the screen. No big deal i thought, i'll just flash a stock rom with odin, but everytime that i try, i keep getting the same error "sboot.bin -> FAIL!".
I already tried :
- Using differents versions of odin, especially the latest (3.13.1)
- Downloading differents roms (marshmallow, nougat, lollipop)
- Using a different usb port
- Restarting my pc multiple times
This is the SM-G935F btw.
Thanks

Yup that is why you are getting the sboot.bin error. It means the bootloader on your phone is newer than the one you are trying to flash. That's why it fails. On you phone screen you would have a error binary 4 device 5. Something like this.

Yup that's right, that was the problem. I finally was able to flash the phone back to stock.
Thanks for the help.
