I rooted my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 previously and was running the Jasmine Rom on Safestrap 3.75. I followed the directions and everything worked fine until i ran out of space and wanted to make a new rom slot. Then i began experiencing more issues. Every time i went to go reboot after the safestrap menu it would just go into a black screen. I figured maybe it was something with the rom, so i tried to install the hyperdrive rom and the same thing happened again only this time the blue led indicator came on with a black screen. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Only use stock rom slot just make a backup before you flash. As to the black screen have you flashed the nc2 beforehand. ?

Did you wipe and factory reset? Along with cache and delvik? I wipe then wipe cache and drlvik a few more times. Be careful when you run low on space certain ROM's need more space Than others.

I would welcome any help here. I have a Grouper N7 that until recently was running the XenonHD rom on the 4.13 bootloader. Due to travel that I was on I encrypted the tablet, but now that those circumstances are not happening anymore, I upgraded the bootloader to 4.23 and then flashed the JWR66V factory stock image. One all that was done I rooted and installed TWRP 2.6.3.1. I have tried SmoothROM, ButteredGrouper and Slim (all 4.3.3 roms) and while everything seemed to flash properly, all of them get stuck in the animation while booting. I even tried downgrading the bootloader and reflashed the last official version of XenonHD and still got the same results. So far, the only way I have been able to get the tablet to boot all the way up is to flash the stock image, and that is just not good enough...
Any ideas on what I am missing?
When going from ROM to ROM you need to do a factory reset in your custom recovery prior to flashing the ROM

I did. Same results. I also just sat the tablet down for an hour and walked away from it. No joy.

Well, I feel stupid. I just tried downgrading TWRP to 2.6.3 and that fixed the issue. I guess I never realized that 2.6.3.1 had issues since I haven't flashed a new ROM in a while... Geez.

Go here and download the 2.6.3 image for your device and place it in the root SDcard, and, then install Flashify from the market. Open Flashify and flash the image...

I have a weird problem with my S5 900f running Lollipop BTU. Rooted with chainfire. Issue is that after rooting when i restart my phone it sometimes says "android is updating and then everythig starts crashing....system is not responding etc etc" i have disabled sytem updates aswell . First i thought it was cuz of Twrp and i flashed stock recovery with flashify but still happened today.........it happens randomly while restarting my phone and then if it gets stuck i have to go to recovery and hit "clear cache and clear update from cache" to be able to boot.....i have also tried different firmwares any clue why this might be happening?

You have to flash stock firmware with odin but first you have to full wipe with twrp recovery end after flash firmware because your root is filed end after you may try to root again

My GF needs a updated (stable) VZ TW rom for her S5. I don't remember how to flash a stock VZ ROM to my girlfriend's S5 using twrp without locking the bootloader? Any help would be great. Thanks. And any suggestions on stock TW ROMs?
Anybody?

If I understand/read it right. I only flash the ROM zips, in twrp. Kernel is included.

Since the lock info is almost completely contained in Qfuses on the SoC, it should work just fine to put a normal verizon rom on it...I don't know why you wouldn't just use an AOSP rom though...
Thanks. It is for my GF....she's needs the stability. And on CM ROMs the GPS doesn't work. Maybe I can convince her to try something different though. Ha.
You can flash this.

It flashes recovery, though--make sure you don't do that if you don't want it.
Thanks. Will give it a try tonight
Nope didn't boot. Gave it about 13min
I had to flash TWRP in Odin to restore.... (A scary couple of minutes. Lol)
You really can't brick these things. Just create an unbrick image (there's a thread about somewhere around here) and put it on an sdcard. I'm serious--I absolutely hosed my phone (no bootloader) and that brought it right back.
Of course, I'm not issuing a _challenge_

Thanks...I'm using twrp, I was using Phil's. But I'll don't remember. When I get back into town I'll try again. Is there an update to twrp maybe? I would rather use a cm ROM but I could never get the GPS to pick up satellites.
I rooted this phone a long time ago for a friend of mine. Now its locking up even after factory reset. It starts the setup process and just locks up and reboots or it needs a batt pull.
I never installed a recovery or safestrap.
It's been so long since I've messed with any phones. I don't know where to start.
I'm thinking odin might fix it, but I'm not sure what file to use. I would like to get android 5.+, but I don't want to lose root.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
What version rom are you on any version after bod5 cannot be rooted and would go into bootloop and if that's the case you might look into Odin the same full version tar with Odin because any verison after bod5 doesn't allow downgrading

If your truly on pure kit Kat you can downgrade with N12 or NCG via Odin full tar and start over again with the root process

Hey there guys! The one and only Slenderman8090 here! I recently tried to flash Touchwiz from AOSP using ODINMobile, and it rebooted and tried to boot into Recovery but stuck at "Recovery is booting". Now, I cannot do anything on this device! Anyone wanna help, it would be great. I cannot flash anything cause it leads to "Fail" on Odin PC. I've tried multiple times with different software, but leads to the "Fail" screen.

Make sure you ODIN the stock version of the Rom first. I have had this happen before, and had to revert to stock to get it to work again.

I've tried and as I said, it said "Failed". Also, it is not detected by Odin anymore on my PC.

so pushy!! jk jk jk
i do agree with what he is saying
failed odin flashes are usually caused by very few things, and if you can get to download mode, its not likely hard-bricked. Things to do when odin fails 1) get a fresh download and verify the MD5 sum 2) try a different cable 3)different computer 4) get a different tar.md5 and verify its checksum too. 5) pray to the deities of cellphonedom 6) get a tarball from sammobile 7)unistall and reinstall drivers
Long story short is that if D/L mode is accessible, all is not lost (usually)
