[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.1 on Razr M XT905? (Australian variant) - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been trying to put the unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 on the Razr M XT905 (Australian variant) with no success. I originally unlocked my bootloader with Motochopper and my recovery is Safestrap 3.12. I used ROM slot 1 and gave it 3GB of space. Then I deleted all the cache and memory and flashed CM and the gapps. When I tried to boot the Motorola and Safestrap splash screens came up but nothing after that. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? I am open to suggestions of other ROM's if putting CM on my device is not possible, preferably 4.2.2 ROM's. Thanks in advance

[Q] CWM Recovery for AT&T I337UCUFNJ4 possible?

Hey guys/gals I know this might be a noob question but I've been looking for a solution all evening.
I recently decided I wanted to install Cyanogen Mod on my GS4 from AT&T but I had already upgraded to 4.4.4 KitKat... (I337UCUFNJ4)
Is it still possible for me to install CWM Recovery? I managed to Root the phone using this guide
unfortunately trying to install ROM Manager just results the phone booting into the default recovery mode and not CWM Recovery.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Phil
Look for SafeStrap in the AT&T Galaxy S4 forums. It is the only recovery that will work with your S4 as AT&T's bootloader is encrypted, a.k.a. locked. The encryption means no custom ROMs. SafeStrap gets around that problem.

[Q] Confused about kltevzw ROMs

Hi, I'd like something cleared up. I have a Verizon Galaxy S5 running Kitkat 4.4.4 which I have rooted. I was wanting to flash this Liquidsmooth ROM on it. It says it supports it, right? But how do you install this ROM if the locked bootloader keeps you from installing TWRP or CWM Recovery? Can it only be installed on the developer edition? I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Thanks in advance.

It says in the OP the ROM is AOSP based, which means you cannot flash it on the retail Verizon version. It can only be flashed on the Developer Edition Verizon variant.
Ok, that's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Thanks for your help!

I was wondering exactly the same thing. I'm a total noob, I've never flashed a ROM. I rooted Verizon Galaxy S5, w KitKat 4.4.4. I wondered: if Lollipop kills Safestrap, how am I supposed to recover from a inappropriate Lollipop ROM? I was so frustrated by this question, I just bought (a cheap, mint) Developer Edition Samsung Galaxy S5. Now what? I would like to flash ROMS on my new phone , have found threads to do so, but the general question remains: what ROMS are right? Can the Developer Edition (DE) take any ROM that a non-Developer Edition can take? Can the DE S5 take ANY AOSP ROM? Such as CM 12.1? And to phrase the question for those with the non-DE S5 - how does one recover from a bad Lollipop ROM, if one cannot install recovery on a locked bootloader Verizon S5? -- and if one cannot use Safestrap (because I thought Safestrap was broken in Lollipop). Does one have to downgrade to KitKat to fix an incorrect ROM situation? Lots of questions, I'll research, but these still remain. Thank you!

A developer edition cannot run Roms for the retail edition. You will lock your device. You can backup your phone or flash something else by using Odin to flash a kernel of an earlier build such as nk2. This will bring safestrap back up.

I wouldn't suggest installing roms based off retail firmware for the de version as it'll probably lock your bootloader. Developer editions can take any aosp rom made for the kltevzw, and any rom that isn't based off of retail firmware, for that matter. Safestrap doesn't work on lollipop, but if you want it to run all you have to do is flash a kitkat kernel on odin and safestrap will work again, ths system will not, however, unless you install a lollipop kernel.

Are there any AOSP ROMS based on CM12.1 that are semi-stable? I saw the one by albinoman887 , but that one does not yet seem stable, and since I am a n00b, might not be a good idea to flash it.... Are there any other ROMS for Samsung GS5 kltevzw phones with unlocked bootloaders that you know of?
thank you!

I am too unfamiliar with the developer edition. I wouldn't want to mess up your phone.

[Q] Possibly bricked SM-G900T with XtreStoLite?

Bit of a newbie but I was running a an older version of XtreStoLite on my S5 for about 6 months. Was looking to update everything to 2.1 Lollipop, used Odin 3.09 to flash new bootloader with the latest files (G900T-LP-UVU1DOB1-BOOTLOADER.tar.md5 and G900T-LP-UVU1DOB1-MODEM.tar) according to the instructions. Using PhilZ I installed the new XtreStoLite_G900T_ROM_v1.3.6a_UVU1BNH5 zip followed by aroma add on XtreStoLite_G900T_Aroma_Add-on_Package_UVU1BNH5_v1.3.6. Now when I boot, my phone freezes during the boot animation, the blue LED stays on, then the screen shortly goes black after. Any ideas or help is appreciated.
You're installing KitKat ROM on Lollipop Bootloaders and modem.
If you want lollipop try XtreStoLite from the galaxy s5 section, it will say SM-G900F (the international ROM) but it works flawlessly on 900T.
Go here to install 2.1 after a full cleanup in recovery:

Is there root for Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900T3?

I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S5 today at a local T-Mobile store. But it turns out that the model number is SM-G900T3, for which I cannot find any information on how to root and install custom recovery. Has anyone had any luck with this model? It's build LMY47X.G900T3UVU1FOF6 Android version 5.1.1
Thanks!
What to do for G900T3 S5
Same here. I went from S4 running cyangenmod 12.1 to s5 g900t3. All because i cracked the screen on my s4. I don't like the stock firmware too much on the s5 so I've been researching rooting it. But run into the same issue. No info on rooting this model. The only thing I can think of to do is downgrade to 4.2 using Odin then root and install CWM. Yet I found a forum where someone posted they were unsuccessful in downgrading the g900t3. So HELP PLEASE.
Turns out it's actually simpler than that. If your goal is to replace the stock firmware with a custom one, such as cyanogenmod then you don't even need to root your stock firmware. All you need to do is flash TWRP custom recovery with Odin, then reboot into TWRP recovery and create a backup of your stock firmware just in case. After that you should be good to go ahead and install cyanogenmod or any other supported custom firmware. This is exactly what I've done with my SM-G900T3.
But if you really want to root your stock firmware then here is a guide for that:

Hope this helps.
OK thanks for the link. It does state not to flash if I'm on FOG6 Build, which I am. Even though my baseband version is FOF6. Guessing the Build is more important. Last night I tried to downgrade to 4.4 using Odin, that immediately didn't work. So I Flashed Philztouch CWM on it then tried to install superuser from the galaxys5 root page, but it was stuck in bootloop on the T-mobile screen. I realized the superuser was for 5.0 version. So then I used Odin again to flash my firmware back on to it the g900t3 5.1.1 FOG6 from the Sammobile website. After that, because I saw I had a reply on here, I used Philztouch to install Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly recovery (don't know which on it was, either klte or klteusc) without rooting and I was stuck in the Cyan's big eyed alien face thing bootloop screen again. So then I had to reinstall my stock firmware once more. Basically after 4+ hours of rooting I'm back where I started. LOL. I don't know what else to do. I'm still researching FOG6 to see if I find anything.

Would this be the same procedure to follow if I wanted to put a stock T-Mobile version of 4.4.2 on my SM-G900T3? Or would that not work?

A Few Questions Before Rooting

My work upgraded their phones recently and gave the employees the old S4s (l337M), convenient timing because my S3 happened to die that day, but that's a different story.
Anyway, coming from my AOSP ROM'd S3 to a touchwiz 5.0.1 ROM is driving me nuts, so I came here to get a ROM/learn...and every tutorial I read seems to be from 2013 (out of date?), and most mention locked bootloaders and having to use Safestrap.
Is safestrap only needed for ATT versions?
Can I not just use ODIN to flash TWRP recovery and then flash SUPERSU, and then a custom ROM (after a nandroid backup).
If it matters the phone was SIM locked to Rogers, now sim unlocked (using my Koodo SIM currently). And the baseband/build # is showing OH1 as the last 3 digits
Thanks
Safestrap is for the AT&T sgh-i337 only.
The sgh-i337m does not have a locked bootloader.
To flash a custom ROM, just use Odin to flash a tar version of TWRP and then flash the ROM of your choice.
Running an i337m myself, I forget the original process, but I just recently switched to Resurrection remix ROM.. (6.0.1 marshmallow based ROM.) I finally get to play with xposed, and I believe no more touchwiz woes...
Anyways, I'd recommend it as the first ROM to look into, its my fav so far..
Sent from my i337M (that thinks its an sgh-m919) using Taptalk
