Hello guys I own a Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M, Fido Unlocked (https://www.fido.ca/)
So my Question is, may I root and firmware flash this phone without losing the unlocked. I mean if I root and flash this phone will it be locked?
Will work Motochopper? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248
Thanks for your help

Thank you very much!
Another question.
So no problem if use any custom firmware after rooting? Fido comes with some apps, if these apps are removed after flashing new firmware will be any problem?

I got S4 at At&t today. (excited ) I begun to read threads after threads. I came across this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283918
So, after that, I gonna do set up CWM nandroid back up?
What about Bootloader? I have experience on previous device, Verizon Samsung Galaxy s3 unlocked bootloader.
Then install At&t roms only?
I have S4 on at&t about device...

It has a locked bootloader
Also, you are lucky to still be on MDL firmware, DO NOT update to the MF3 firmware or you will lose ability to root your S4. My advice would be to remove sim card and turn off Wifi (to prevent accidentally updating) then root phone with Motochopper. Once rooted go freeze the update apks to ensure it does not update on you later. MF3 is unrootable as of now so DO NOT update if you want root!
I think you mean MF3. And yes, you have a locked bootloader, you should use this...and he is right do NOT do a update, once you do you lose root, and there is no way back just yet.

you can't unlock it. If you have MDL firmware you can use an exploit but if you are on MK2 of MF3 its completely locked down

hi,
I have an unlocked SGH-I337 with Android 4.2.2 I337UCUAMDL root and revocery,
if I upgrade to version 4.4.2, I lose the unlock??
thanks
Yes you will, if you want to be able to flash roms I recommend that you do not take the update

why not just run a 4.4.2 custom rom like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313469
it runs great for me--there are others also
nandroid first a usual in case a restore is needed--:good:
i prefer twrp 2.5.0.2 myself

You will not lose sim unlock however you will lose boot loader unlock. Just wanted to clarify that

It's good to know that I won't lose my SIM unlock, I had been worried that it would cause problems for the person I sold my s4 to, it's nice to know I didn't screw them over (T-Mobile user).
I rooted my Verizon S5 yesterday with TowelRoot and want to put a new ROM on it because, lets face it, Touchwiz blows. Anybody care to explain to me how to do it? Thanks in advance.
You can't. The bootloader has yet to be unlocked.
Really? Damn that sucks. Can you explain that to me too? Please

What Is Bootloader?
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...-bootloader-on-android-phones-complete-guide/
Bootloader unlocking should not be confused with Android rooting.
Oooh okay, so just because the device is rooted, the bootloader is still locked. Also, just as the roots for each carrier's device is different, the bootloaders are as well?

Hello,
Is there a way to downgrade a Samsung Galaxy s4 at&t (SGH-I337) from 4.4 to 4.2. Because I wanted to try doing this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900 so maybe I would be able to unlock my bootloader and get a recovery, so I change different roms. I looked all over but I have no clue if this is possible.
Thanks!
