[Q] Stuck on Firmware Update screen

Hey, I'm stuck on boot screen, can only get into TWRP but that's it. I'm trying to go back to stock using the flashtool method but everytime I try to boot into download mode my phone immediately goes to Firmware Update screen and stuck there so lg tool gives error saying phone is disconnected. Anyone have any ideas what might be casing this? Thanks for any help

Hold the power button until you get a black screen. Download LG Mobile Support tool and the LG Drivers. Plug USB In and then hold the Power + Volume Up key. On your screen, click Upgrade Recovery. From there, you can do a factory reset through download mode of your phone.

In case you did the latest firmware ota upd,there is a topic that can solve you problem as long as you can access TWRP(even if you didnt do the ota it will,i tried that myself) Here is what you need to do.
use TWRP's "terminal command" option to run the following:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
You'll have to type that whole thing out, and be VERY careful with spaces and punctuation. One wrong letter and you could nuke your phone.
This will probably fix you problem when it has to do with any update.

Thanks for the responses. I finally fixed it.. I started the procedure from scratch with a new laptop and somehow it worked lol

I also have a lg g2 with android 4.4.2. I wanted to update it to android 5.0 with lg pcsuite. all was fine until there was an error, while my phone was in download mode. then lg pc suite said i should disconnect my phone
from the computer and then reconnect it and restart it. so i did but when I restarted the phone it was still in download mode and now lg pc suite says that it cant connect. Now when i start my phone it stays in the download mode.
My phone isnt rooted or smth else.
Can someone please help?

Frozen at frimware update and device doesnt get detected

Hi,
i have got the same situation now.
I tried to use LG support tool, it detects my phone but it shows that I havent enough memory to do restore.
How to erase some space when my phone is in download mode ?
Doing Restore upgrade errors using PC Suite, but it stops after approx 40%.
Hard reset doesnt work.

It happened to me and now phone hanged in download mode and can not connect to pc. Did you have a solution?

Guys! I had the exact same problem today. My solution was to keep pressing the "try again" button every time the error appeared on my computer screen. It took some time but the error was appearing at different levels each time in this order : 45% 57% 65% 80% and next the instalation was completed. If it doesn't work try switching to another computer if you can. After the firmware update hits 100% your phone will restart and the LG logo will appear(the led changes its color during this process). At this point you have to just wait a while. Then a dialog box will appear saying that the applications on your phone are configuring themselves. After that your phone will start and work normaly. The cause of the error is the lack of memory on your phone. If those idiots working for LG would say "YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH STORING SPACE" this stuff would not happen.
The phone is not rooted!(IMPORTANT)
Phone name: LG G2
Phone model: D802
Old software: 4.4.2 (KitKat)
Actual software: 5.0.2 (Lollipop)

Turn of the phone and enter to download mode again and try flash to stock kdz file with lg flash tool

I had same problem "firmware update", simple just remove the battery and sim for 15 sec. then put it back and restart.

My LG x power died and I went to plug it in and a screen popped up saying,"Firmwire Update 0%", so I kept it plugged in for the next half an hour, and it still said 0%. I've tried resetting it and powering it off but nothing seems to be working. What do I do?

Download lg flash tool.
Download lg g2 stock firmware.
Press volume up button and insert usb cable. You will see download mode.
Open lg flash tool and flash the kdz( original firmware) through flash tool.select cse flash.

My LG V20 got stuck on the Firmware Update screen. It appears every time I restart the phone and I have to take the battery out. If I start the phone plugged in it starts normally. I was able to do a factory reset, the phone started normally a few times without being plugged in, now it's back to the Firmware screen. I can use the phone but need to restart when it's plugged in. I hope Oreo Update will fix it. I don't know much about updates, but do big updates like that reinstall the drivers as well?

Hello everyone I also have this kind of experience so many times in my g2 mini.stuck on Firmware update. What I’m doing is,
1. remove the battery to turn it off. Plug your charger and before plugging it to your phone hold the volume down and plug in until tou see the android is updating; or
2. Just simply hold the powerbutton + volume down until you see Android is updating.
I would love to see your feedback if it helps.

[Q] LG Optimus L3 - LG Logo Loop

Yesterday, i got a problem with my LG. I wanted to change the Rom and after i finished the procedure, i got and LG Logo Loop

Normaly, i can change the Rom again by Hard Reseting, but when i press the 3 buttons, nothing happens.
When i connect the phone to the PC, i don't even got the sound that Win8 does when a phone is pluged in, that means that the phone isn't recongnized by the PC, and i allready installed all the Drivers.
I can't enter Emergency mode, when i press the buttons, nothing happens too.
My phone wasn't rooted so i don't have CWM.
I tried LG Support Tool, KDZ Software update, but as i said, the phone isn't recongnized, so i can't do anything.
Some people on forums adviced Medusa Box, but when i launch the app, i got as a message : Card init failed ..
So this is it.

mAke sure you have install all LG Software on your computer, like usb driver the important one
then download stock rom for your device
and flash it through KDZ Software update,

Try instaling drivers on some win7 pc/laptop, then try to revive the phone via kdz, because win8 sometimes has problems with drivers etc,
Btw which procedure were you using to change the rom?

Try to remove battery and connect the phone to the pc, hold volume + and - (between + and -, the middle) and the power button, this will works to get emergency mode, got same problem when tried to flash, still have the problem as you, logo loop with this stupid sound

Yes, it work, i'm finaly in the Emergency Mode ! My mistake was to press Power and Volume - or +, not the middle ..
Now that i'm in the Emergency mode and i don't want to get in any trouble again, which rom do you advise me to instal ? and with what method ?

Download the stock rom (original) for your phone, must know which version there is a lot of version ( V10C, V10G, V10E ...)
Use Kdz updater, if the App crash check compatibility and choose windows XP, in KDZ updater use the mode 3GQCT and phone mode DIAG, browse for the stock rom in the KDZ FILE and click Launch software update.
When i flashed the stock rom i got the loop, so i tried to hard reset it and it worked for me (power + menu + volume down or up i forgot)
Try to hard reset before flash if it doesn't work, flash it.

Hi, my LG L7 bricked yesterday, I can't boot into cwm recovery and can't normally boot... It only shows a distorted LG logo (as always)... I tried to do something with it but my pc doesn't show that i connected my phone to it... I don't really know what to do now :C

make sure to have lg driver installed on your pc
press vol- and connect your phone to your pc, (else try vol+ + power + home and connect your phone to pc)
run KDZ and flash a new firmware

I'm sure that i have installed it... When i try the CWM recovery key combination, it shows me only the LG logo but not disorted like on normal reboot... I also tried to go into Modem Download Mode (Vol-, USB Attach) but it doesn't really work...

I also wanted to repair it by ADB Make Easy... but as i read somewhere else, to make it see my phone connection, i have to turn on USB Debugging... but i can't because i can't boot it :/

New thing... If I plug it into pc without a battery then it is connected (still cant see it) but it turns off after 1-2 minutes... ah and something else... If i plug it in, it shows me only the loading logo, nothing else... please help

[Q] Stuck on Bootscreen after flashing CWM (D802, 6.0.4.7)!

Hi there!
So I rooted my LG G2 (D802, 4.4.2, Stock, used ioroot) yesterday.
I intend(ed) to flash the Optimus G3 Rom, in the start post they recommended to flash cmw/twrp via "Simple Tool 3.2" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633941). After doing so (I used the automated version, not the manual one) I got STUCK ON THE BOOTSCREEN. There is a notification popping up for a few seconds in the left upper corner which lists several errors occurring:
BOOT CERTIFICATION VERIFY
SECURE BOOTING ERROR;
CAUSE: BOOTCERTIFICATION VERIFY
along with the following numbers listed from top to bottom: 710, 760, 810, 860, 910, 960 (I just noticed, the numbers can vary, but always follow the same pattern...)
after this message, the screen fades to black, I think it it is still running though, since it takes more than 10 seconds to reboot the phone by pressing the power button. I still have access to the button down/power button combo which leads to a factory reset setting, but it doesnt do anything for me since I still get stuck at the lg boot screen.

You flashed a custom recovery version thad doesin't match you phone ( example you flashed D801 recovery on D802 phone )
Just search in Q/A and you find the solution to fix it. Be calm , if you phone is booting - you can fix it

Thanks a ton!! Finally I can put a name on the problem (bricking...)- Ironically I never mangaged to get there in 3years of samsung flashing but got there within 15mins of flashing on the LG G2. I guess it's true what they say about samsung devices, as hard to brick as a brick...
I'll report back if it worked...

I can use the Tool, but it's always trying to connect to my phone without success. But when I connect my phone to the computer it opens a dropbox window (import photos) and several windows partitions, which it tells me to format...

LG L7 (P700) - soft brick(?)

Hi, 2 years ago I try to change rom, I enter to recovery and I wipe data, dalvik and flash new rom from sd card as always, but after reboot phone doesn't want boot itself correctly, after show LG logo, phone stuck on black screen, I try enter to recovery and load backup, but I can't.. only black screen, in next 2 weeks I try to safe my phone, but nothing is working(I tried find help on polish websites about android). Today I found this phone in my closet, so now I know English little more so I try here, I plug phone to pc, after instaling drivers system detect "LGE Android MTP Device" and adb detect it as 5e331a device, so phone is not totally died. I search for more information,hard reset(power + vol- + menu) - nope, enter to emergency mode - nope . Its any way to unbrick my phone ?
Ps. I know, my English suck, so if I made any mistake, forgive me

Hi, again, I managed to switch phone intro emergency mode, from this point I can update phone from KDZ Updater. So problem solved
