1. Your internal storage will not be deleted.
2. GApps is the Google Play store apk file. It's a flashable file.
Have you tried turning wifi on through the settings menu and not in the notification drawer?

Try wiping cache and dalvik, then fix permissions and reboot.

Not sure, but maybe there is a difference in the ramdisk and that's why wifi hasn't functioned.

What Do your Mean difference in the ramdisk?
What i need to Do?

Some developers provide a reset kernel if coming from a kernel such as franco which makes ramdisk modifications.
If not you can do a full wipe and flash the whole ROM again with kernel and then flash the kernel of your choice.

u don't need to wipe all.
just flash this revert: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1951201&stc=1&d=1368195077
wipe cache and dalvik and reboot.
now u can flash m3 and have the wifi working.

can't flash kernel (franco)

Hi,
I'm running PA rom,
I want to flash franco kernel.
I downloaded franco kernel zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002782) for nexus 4.
fastboot - recovery mode - wipe cache - choose and install zip - rebooted
Nothing Happend - PA came up as usual and nothing changed
, I did it 3 times (the first time I didn't wipe cache).
What Can I do, What went wrong?
is there an alterntive to adb commands?

You did nothing wrong. Franco kernel just makes your phone awesome in the internals. Franco kernel doesn't have its own boot animation if that is what you are asking. Its not a new rom...
So how do i known i have it¿
I have nothing new in my settings and it stated quite quickly after flashing
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
What did you think would happen? You can't "see" a kernel, if you flashed it you're running it
Go to Settings>About phone and the kernel version will have the franco version as opposed to what was there originally
You make a good point.
Sorry for the open nobbiness
So how do i control the voltage, clocking etc...?
Do i need an app?

The kernel is the engine of the "rom", to exploit the kernel modified as under / overvolt and under / overclock or change colors or have any other goodies you get other applications like "SetCPU" or in this case "franco.kernel updater" provided that the "rom" does not allow to do these things by default
sorry for my english (google translate from italian )

Hey itayze!
Hmm i just found a solution.. u needa spend the money on the app..(Really worth!) and go to the thread and then manually download the latest build.. and then put it in your N4 search for the folder franco.updater > kernel backup put inside once done go to the phone and restore the kernel! Im using PA rom too.. REALLY weird why it cant auto flash...

[Q] how to edit the "quick settings" toggles?

Is there a way to edit the toggles in the quick settings (when you pull down with 2 fingers from the status bar)? Can you add custom toggles and can the toggles actually be toggles and not just shortcuts to menus in the settings ?
You can't edit them on stock, although the toggles should all be toggles as long as you don't long press them. If you haven't updated to stock 4.2.2 yet then do that.

I tried to flash CM but it didn't work a while ago. I kept getting stuck at the CM boot animation and I didn't know what went wrong because I'm new to android
You need to do the following for CM...
1. Nandroid!
2. Wipe everything in CWM (I use a little script I got from another user for this so I don't have to do it all manually!)
3. Flash the ROM
4. Flash the GAPPs
5. Reboot
It should then boot up as normal

I tried reflashing CM10.1 and same thing happened I was stuck at the boot animation. Before I flashed I made a new nandroid backup and wiped cache.
Do I have to wipe to factory default?
Also probably important to note i have franco kernel flashed on my stock ROM , should I remove fk and try and flash again and once I get cm working flash fk bac

Absolutely you have to wipe data. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (dalvik is located in advanced menu) as well or you'll get bootloops. Franco works with CM afaik.

You don't need to remove the franco kernel before flashing a custom ROM. The new ROM will come with its own kernel. If you want to keep using Franco kernel, you'll need to flash the kernel after you flash the ROM and Gapps.
If you aren't too particular about changing the entire rom and doing all that drama.. Install power toggles and put a widget on the notification drop down menu... It has more options than the settings list has.. I know this is not what u had asked here.. But I was just trying to tell u what I found easier.. Cheers

[Q] Is nexus 4 running paranoid android and franco kernel possible?

Hi, I have a newly rooted Nexus 4 with stock kernel and ROM but with TWRP recovery. I am kind of a noob when it comes to modifying my phone so any help is appreciated. I want to install paranoid android and franco kernel so that I will have good battery life and features, I wanted to know if this is possible and if so, how would I go about doing this. If there are video guides on youtube, please post links, I couldn't find anything when I searched for this

Just to add on another question, I was using franco kernel updater free and the latest version I can see in there is 164, I know that this will not work, so what should I do. also I was reading about the whole issue with jss and jwr, so just to make sure, franco r174 is compatible with pa 3.96, right?

Yes PA 3.96 is JWR based rom and official Farnco kernel r174 is a JWR kernel.. So you are good to go.
Flash it and relax. You can find the latest r174 in the OP's thread(original dev section)
Instructions for PA 3.69:
I'm on PA 3.69 (4.2.2 not 4.3) and using Franco nightly r165 which is the same as milestone 3.
Get goo manager from play store and click on "browse by compatible rom" then select paranoid android, then mako and flash 3.69, then download franco kernel updated free from play store and flash it.

I'm sorry to keep asking questions, but could you please post a step by step guide with links to the particular items that I will have to download (ie. radios and additional files (if needed) in addition to the rom, kernel, and gapps). Also seeing that Franco Kernel 176 has also been released for JWR, will that work with PA 3.96?
This is my first time installing a custom rom and kernel so please go into great detail if you can through all of the steps of the process.
Thanks for your help.

See this is what you have to do..
As you are on 4.3 and twrp installed download PA3.96(JWR based ROM so flash a JWR kernel) from original dev section,
Franco r176 kernel_JWR. Gapps latest in the same PA's thread updated one is 20130815.
Installation steps:
Factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
wipe system
wipe data
install the rom then gapps
AGAIN wipe cache and dalvik cache
flash Supersu v1.51(search for it-google)
flash the franco kernel
reboot.
enjoy the rom.:good:
Additional help(optional if you using TB.)
ROOT IS WORKING BUT IT NEEDS TO SORT OF BE ENABLED
1. Enable developer option by pressing build number 7 times in settings>about
2. Enable usb debugging and set root access to adb + apps in developer settings
3. root should now work
Titanium backup may not work on 4.3:
To fix it:
1. In tb go to menu>preferences>backup folder location
2. Press detect
3. Then you will get two options ...choose the one with legacy in its path
4. Then it will ask you to move backup to that folder.... Select that
5. Restart app and restore.

It might be your router issue.. pl check with the settings.. I had also read in the PA thread about the wifi issue so it better you can ask it over there, if you are lucky enough the exact person can help you who had the same problem .
Thanks, your description helped me to set up PA together with Franco Kernel.
Unfortunately, I have lost root access now.
I set the phone to developer's mode, but can't find any option to 'set root access to apps + data'.
I also tried to flash supersu, but after doing that, both TitaniumBackup and SuperSu report that there is no root access.
What can I do?
thanks, r.
FYI, I've solved the problem by myself using Nexus Root Toolkit.

go into cwm

restart to recovery
you will get mount errors (dont worry)
format system data and cache
mount system data and cache
then flash the cm7 zip as already explained
