CyanogenMod 10.1 - First serious release (20130626)! - Galaxy S III Mini General

Mod edit: No, just no

You Diamond!
You absolute star! This is getting installed now. I will donate when I get my paypal sorted out.
Is work ongoing on this for the minor bugs?
Have any other kernels been tested with this?
Biggest thanks pal!

I have to say that after it installed all night now in the morning I looked and there was the CPUSpy 200MHZ down. So I decided to do a WIPE and see what happens, if voice search works. For the time and after 1 hour of waiting are not logged in Deep Sleep.

i installed this today, and, the bootanimation just kept going on for a good 10 mins, so i dont know what to do

Is there way to enable wifi hotspot? Native doesn't work but some other way?

What do you mean? Try to set WiFi only enabled when plugged, not in standby. Should help. Be careful, this ROM is BETA

Works like a charm so far. I haven't tested anything aside from standard features yet. It's fast, relatively light. I'll post back with more as I discover it. One thing I did notice, possibly related to the cwm recovery and not the ROM, was that a full wipe did not remove previous data. I had to manually delete from the data/data folder to avoid error-24.

Thread closed, links to the Mclaw site are not allowed because they use ad links and have refused to follow our rules.
Secondly, why did you post this in Android Development when you didn't make it? If you didn't make something it goes in the general forum, not development.

Xda app crashes every time I post

Is this just me? Every time i reply to a post, I get a force close. This has happened on almost every firmware I've tried.
Just me?
Same here, it crashes everytime, do not know, but I think this is not a firmware thing, but a xda app thing....
are you guys on Froyo or 2.1 ?
i'm using it just fine, no errors, i use it very often to check my PMs and post back on the go
I had the same a few days ago.however somehow the problem got solved and now I don't get these FC's anymore when posting a message...

Same here but not always. I just ignore it coz my message still gets posted.
there was recengly an upgrade to the XDA forum App

Mine is a clean install and the latest version. Guess its just a bit crap then... much like the official UK ebay app as well then.
Oh to top it off my phone decided it had enough and went to sleep again.

Mine crashes too (fresh install)
mine was upgraded from the older verison
Posted here earlier that my problems were gone, but I just had another FC after posting elsewhere...
Also, when trying to edit a previous message I seem unable to type anything; the keyboard appears on my screen, but touching it gives a feedback that is the same as touching in a textbox (I can move cursor and select text etc.instead of typing with the virtual keyboard that is displayed).

Edit: hmmm this time no FC and fully able to edit message....weird...
Mine just crashed using quotes. Seems to work fine otherwise.

Gps fix for ELK4 leak

I thought I would stary a new thread as it appears lots of us including myself have the issue where gps signal is lost and does not regain. Please please could someone help to fix its the only thing stopping his rom being perfect for me. This is quite inportant feature for me so desperatly need a fix. Please one of you amazing devs take a look and assist?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
DEVs you require... Hmmm... why not United Nations?
OK, Here is something just for you...
I'm just in doubt if you'd be able to apply it as you were not able to find it by yourself...
Xda is not a place for rudeness we are here to help each other before you get on your high horse and waste the effort of creating a patronising video of how to use google. This reason for my post is because this is a specific problem with the elk4 leak. If you read the other threads you would have seen others have tried agps and it still does not work. Hence my post.

1. Rudeness citation, please;
2. It is not a video it is a webpage based service created fot peoples who are unable to use search button in XDA forum or at Google, therefore, although I like your way of thinking, there is no high horse on the horizon, sorry. But... my concerns about your ability to use the patch are even bigger now, as you have thought it is a video created especially for you...
3. If you have specific problem, it would be better place for it, namely: Q&A, just below the general section of forum.
Last but not least: I have read ALL cited by me thread. No single comment about non working with your ROM, therefore, if you're giving such statement, provide link to the post, please.
You should have post this in Q&A section. Anyway I think it's kernel related just flash Siah kernel see if it's fix your problem but Siah kernel isn't fully compatible with this ROM yet so it will break your video recording.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Well this would make it one. This particular firmware gps problem is not related to whatever patch does, therefore it is not solved by a patch. Now if someone has idea or solution.... Doubt it anyways, and since I'm depending heavily on navigation for my work, back to lj5 patiently waiting for jkay, till next leak and next round of testing.
Testing JKay alpha on GT-I9300
Just noticed gps problems today, is there a fix? I previously didnt wipe. But flashed again full wipe. Not tested yet.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I can confirm that this worked for me today:
I had just installed Omega 33, and was trying to use GPS to navigate, but was not getting a good on my location (although I seemed to have a certain amount of accuracy to my position). I turned the GPS off and on again, and what little accuracy present went away and I never got the GPS lock.
I used the app known as "Fasterfix" from the play store. It needs root privileges in order for it to modify the "GPS.conf" file.
I live in India. Hence I chose my server as Asia-> India (it sets it to in.pool.ntp.org or something like that). There was no need to reboot. After this, I was successfully able to navigate without any problems.
Try it out and let me know whether it works.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
My problem was never getting a fast lock, it was holding onto it. When I would press navigate i would drive certain distance and would notice my position is few streets behind, then would get prompt gps lost, never to return. Turn off gps toggle, turn on later, aquire lock. Rinse and repeat.

You are saying the aGPS patch works, although from what I have read it's a completely unrelated problem, please show me it worked. If there is already a fix posted you should be straight linking it with a "please use the search next time" that's a helpful post.
And do you even know the problem, have you ever looked in the leaked firmware thread, I barely see you (checking the forums multiple times every day) and when I do see you your posts are rude, with absolutely no intelligence what so ever.
Did someone try to reflash the modem?
I can't try it right now, I will do it later and report.

Still, your heaven-reaching intelligence is unable to provide link to citation that this patch is not working? Well, ok, you may be busy learning how to distinguish between web page and video...
Finally, I have no time to look on the forum several times per day, as I have plenty other things to do, for example to drive somewhere using SGS3 as SatNav device, which is (comparing crappy chipset as SGS 1 with brilliant chip at SGS3) - just a pleasure.
Therefore, sorry but I will disappoint you in the future as well.
Finally, feel free to not test any patch, but to look on the video created especially for you in the web by someone special...

New MultiWindow feature on JB 4.1.2: developer needed :)

So,
as many of you may have already realised (see post here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36025159&postcount=39), if you are on a rooted JB 4.1.2 ROM, enabling multi window is just a matterof adding the app code to a system file (namely /root/syste/csc/feature.xml).
This is easy to do manually, but it'd be awsome if some willing developer could develop a very simple android app, where you get the list of installed apps and yoiu choose the ones for which you want multi window embaled.
I'd pay for such an app, and I am ready to be a beta tester
Anyone?

I would be willing to pay for this app and test as well. I have manually done a few myself but its just a pain.

no that's not what I am talking about...
What I suggest is an app that lists all installed apps and at the same time reads the apps in the feature.xlm to mark thise already enabled for multiwindow.
The app allows to select/deselect the installed apps to add /remove them to/from features.xml
That would be a 2h job + testing, nothing fancy...
I'd really pay for that...
no need to flash anything with recovery or be deodexed...
just install the app...
only requirement is to be rooted to access feature.xml

This could not have worked more perfectly. This is exactly what everyone is looking for, I think. Thank you so much for your efforts! Do you plan on putting this on the Play Store?
I will mention that this app works flawlessly, but not all apps format perfectly. I tested about 30 apps, and about 3-5 of them either didn't work at all, or were barely functional. This still takes this tablet above and beyond where it was though.
I suggest you create a new thread with this information. I dont think people will find it buried in her. This deserves its own space!
Yea I think I will once I get a little more feedback...glad its working for you

It works. Thanks for developing this. One small issue, I unticked YouTube in the list, but it remained multi-window. I think for any unticked apps, you still need to include them in the features.xml file, but they need to start with a "-" , e.g. -com.google.android.youtube

Intelliring and talkback issues

Iv had the intelliring app installed for a while, great app with some cool features but had one major issue.
Works fine for the ringer but when I choose to include my notifications to be controlled by the app it says I need to turn on something in accessibility, which I do but then using the stock browser I get talk back even though it's talk back is off and everything is unchecked. This issue doesn't happen in chrome though.
Another issue Iv noticed is auto rotate does not work properly in the video player but I can live with that.
I think the stock browser is great and it seems faster than chrome while using less ram too. Can't find another app that does what intelliring does, also Iv emailed the devs a couple of times but no response after two weeks.
I know it's not a major issue but coming from ios where things just worked it would be nice for it to just work. Can anyone help?

You'll have to wait for an official fix. There are several threads where people have problems with the talkback issue. Every app which is enabled in the accessability settings causes that. The new MEA firmware fixes the issue so you'll have to wait or flash the firmware with odin. You can get it from sammobile.

Thanks :good:, have you experienced any fixes with the new update yet?
Still not rooted yet, cant find any reason to root, this device is so damn customisable from every angle. (long time ios user)
Yeah the talkback issue gets fixes. Also you can move apps to your sd card. My camera doesnt lag anymore. It is a good update
You do not have to be rooted.
Turn off your phone and put it into the download mode. Connect it to a usb port and flash the firmware with odin as pda and check if the checkboxes auto restart and f.reset time are checked. But only those two checkboxes.
If you want to be really sure go to the development section and follow the instructions from djembey.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824
Or you could wait till the update reaches your phone amd don't risk anything
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
Thanks again. But my knowledge is pretty basic, I don't even know/ever heard of download mode. Getting root seems way more complex than jail breaking so for that reason I'll hold back and besides I really enjoy having 60+% battery left after a full days use.
Let's hope this new update is soon

New KitKat feature/news? Post here :)

Ok so I've upgraded to KK but some things really bug me about it.
I want to save new contacts to sim card, not phone or sync.
I want to have a call recorder, I've asked everywhere and can't get an answer to if its possible or being worked on.
Screen recorder.
Some ROMs offer screen record, I've yet to discover how to save to sim card and the call recorder I'm starting to think it won't happen.
Any new apps, settings, features or roms for 4.4 feel free to post here. We need a thread where anything goes, anything can be asked and where anyone is welcome.
Oh and please be helpful, if you know of a thread that is useful don't tell people to 'search'
If you know the page save everyone time and post the link.
Thanks. I hope this thread reaches it's full potential
