Could someone help me out please,
I've tried to unlock my phone but I can't get to the main menu of the service mode.
I accessed *#0011#
tapped menu, select back
tapped menu, select input, inputted 1, ok
waited as well as tapped menu, select back
it doesn't go anywhere or changes menu.
Any ideas?

What firmware, modem, rom are you using? Most likely is the modem causing it.
I bought it from eBay but i'm sure those things have not been tampered with.
It is locked onto UK's three mobile network.
It's on I9505XXUBMEA

The modem doesn't allow to access the service menu. You need XXUAME2 or older modem to get access to service menu.
This thread has all modems available to download.
As for the phone being carrier-locked, I'm not sure how to solve that. All phone sold in my country are unlocked.
so, i cant unlock the phone via the servicemode then?
and since it's carrier locked, i can't downgrade the modem? or can i?

You can downgrade the modem. This can be done by downloading modem from the thread I told you, and flashing it through Odin.
Edit: Be sure to follow the instructions on how to properly flash modem.
changing the modem will not affect the carrier lock will it?
I'm worried I might not be able to use any sim after changing the modem XD

If you're scared, you can always do a full system backup using custom recovery. If any problem occurs, just restore the backup.
Also, I just realized i can't find the settings to enable debugging on my S4
Can i still use customer recovery, my phone's not rooted and it boots with the three mobile logo

Custom recovery does NOT need root. It replaces the stock recovery of the phone. Same goes for modem.
Did you have developer options at your settings? If not, go to settings>about device. Press the 'Build Number' 7 or 8 times. (Cannot remember exactly how many times). The developer option will then be available.
yeah, just figured it out. ok i'm going to try it now using ME2 like you said... hopefully nothing bad happens

I have used the search function, but fear is killing me.
wherever I go, I find that the flashing process requires that the phone is unlocked.
can you please let me know how to go about it?
I downloaded the 02 modem firmware now. and Odin, but can't go any further
Hello, sorry to bring back this thread, but I have a weird problem.
I tried every possibility and variants of this unlock method (*#0011#) but nothing changes. It still asks for the network code.
I flashed a ME2 modem, and same thing ..
Is there anything I missed ?

I get stock firmware from sammobile.com. You'll have to register but it's free.
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS4/SGH-I337/I337UCUAMDL_I337ATTAMDL_ATT.zip
scroll to the bottom and enter the requested code to initiate the download.
When returning to stock. I used your all in one to root, do I need to unlock the bootloader or anything.
more info*
I have tmobiles 8.5 gb data plan. yesterday I downladed a large file. This morning my data connection was really slow. So trying to work around their throttling, I went into the service menu and changed he network control>band preferences to CDMA/LTE only. Worked for a while and then things returned to normal. (Slow crappy service.) So i went a little deeper changed something else in cdma selection ended up without any service at all. Then after a lenghty talk with att and tmobile I decided to do the process to turn on aws again. After doing that the service returned, but the data is still the way it was.
I actually had it where it was saying it wasnt activated asking me activate my phone.......yeah stupid I know I shouldnt mess with things especially when I have no clue what they are. Lesson learned just trying to fix my mess
PS I am not over my data limits

When you return to stock, you're staying all over again. You'll have to reroot, etc. Be sure to be wary of your device trying to grab the MF3 update. Maybe take your sim out and leave wifi off while you root, backup and flash to your desired rom

Don't worry about the boot loader. It's locked and you can't unlock it. After returning to stock with odin re-root it using motochopper. Do ask that with the sim out and WiFi off so you don't get the mf3 update.

Delete the Samsung and kies drivers.
Run ccleaner
Install the Samsung drivers
Then run Odin
finaly got odin to work flashed and rebooted. i thought flashing a rom would delete a lot of my stuff? It is all still there and now my computer doesnt connect to my phone it charges it but doesnt say it is connected.
I have tried different cables and different ports with no luck.

I bet you have not tried to flash a compatible custom kernel.
If your phone is an N9005 then flash this kernel below:
http://whatever.host-base.de/kernel/hlte/custom-n3-clean-0.98-eur.zip
If all else fails, why not flash a non-experimental Kitkat 4.4.2
TW based full feature custom rom. (There are so many good ones)
Good luck!

HI, in dialer if you wite this code *#06# have you the same IMEI write behind your battery ?
have you make backup before ?
I experienced the exact same problem.
1. settings > about phone > status
Do you still have an IMEI listed? If yes, we must first backup your EFS, FSG, FSC partitions. Use EFSBackup tool from this thread and save backup somewhere securely.
2. Flash back to stock
If you were still on 4.3 flash 4.3 in order to keep the unlocked bootloader. Else flash 4.4 stock. Only flash the correct firmware from this list. You can figure out which device you have by using the Device Info feature of EFSBackup
This fixed the problem for me. Do not flash anything BEFORE making a backup of EFS, FSC, and FSC partitions. If you lose those you lose your IMEI, in that case it's pretty much finished.
Report back here with progress.

OK I understand you still have IMEI?
Do not flash anything at the moment. We MUST first backup efs, fsc, and fsg blocks.
If the phone was only on 4.3 stock when you bought and and you have only flashed CM on it the bootloader is still 4.3
The bootloader is only upgraded when you flash 4.4 kitkat STOCK ROM. CM does not touch your bootloader.
What is the problem with EFSBackup? Did you enable root access for apps AND adb in the developer options menu?
I say again do not flash anything before we can get these backups. We can still fix the phone ATM.
Thankyou for trying to help me.

Assuming you have CM running do this:
Settings > About Phone > Build Number.
Tap the Build Number section 7 times in a row. A small message will pop up that says "You are now a developer".
Return to the settings menu. You will now see there's a new menu at the bottom called "Developer options". Enter that menu and scroll down to the section "DEBUGGING". Tap on "USB debugging" to enable it. A small window will pop up that asks you again if you want to enable debugging. Tap "OK".
If the phone was not yet connected with a USB cable to your computer do that now. After a few seconds a window will appear that display your computers authentication ID. It will ask you to allow access for that computer ID. Check the box that says something like "Do not ask again for this computer" and then tap "Allow" or "OK" (can't remember what it says).
Now scroll up a little bit in the Developer options menu until you see "Root access". It should currently say only "Apps". Tap the menu and select "Apps and ADB" from the popup.
When all that is done start EFSBackup again. It auto-detects if you did everything correctly as written here. Report back here with your progress.
Thankyou for helping me, i got through it, but now in EFS Professional i get this error

Hi there
Recently I encountered some issues with my Note 3. google playstore did not allow me to sign in and no notifications appeared on my screen (the phone has root, and TWRP). I decided to try out CM11, downloaded it from the original site along with gapps on my internal sd. i wiped data cache .. the usual and installed the two files except they did not do anything. I download the custom recovery 1.3gb file using odin. booted up and noticed that my service is not working. i called my service provider to see if the problem was on their end but wasnt. i factory reset the phone via settings... same problem. i went into recovery wiped data and cache booted up and same issue.
IMEI= has not been blacklisted
I occasionally do see bars appear however no change in service status
I tried flashing TWRP again and installing CM11 except i get a "failed" message "unable to mount"
I sure hope I did not kill this phone
any idea how do i get service back on my phone? everything else on the phone works besides service provider....
Thank you very much!!
Not sure if this means anything ...
When you had it working with a Touchwiz Rom it could have been your APN settings that were not allowing you to get signal.
If I were you I would start fresh and download the factory image from sammobile and flash it again using Odin. We can start troubleshooting from there.
Did you use this tutorial to get a custom recovery installed? Its really straightforward and I recommend this method over all others.

2. Check that you are NOT downgrading your bootloader.
EDIT: You are downgrading your bootloader, or else you wouldn't get the aboot fused 2 > binary 2 error.
You will have to flash stock, go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=26660
Flash that in AP of Odin. Then you will be reverted back to stock.

I gave that a try, rebooted the phone, attempted a call and "Not registered on network"
would changing the ROM have any impact on the service for whatever reason? i gave CM11 a try but wouldn't instal.
Seeing all that you've tried, the one thing i don't see tried is the sim card. Have you tried your sim in another phone, or another known good sim in yours? The fact it gets signal but doesn't register with the network makes me think the sim had somehow gotten corrupted.

1. Check for Reactivation Lock

Would trying your method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792819) but changing the bootloader to NB7 work?
"If your bootloader is of version NA2 (somehow) or NB7, skip to the contents of Step 4," rather than proceeding to step 4 going to step 1?
So I was setting up my device yesterday and enabled fingerprint unlocking and choose a pattern unlock and written password as backup options.
When I restarted my phone, in order to unlock the phone it stated to use pattern unlock to protect fingerprint scanning after reboots (something of that nature).
Problem is for some reason I cannot figure out the pattern to unlock (I'm sure im using the one i set in place) and I cannot use my written password to unlock either, it's just by pattern.
So am I locked out of my phone and don't know what to do. I'm trying to do a factory reset to see if that'll work.
But I also flashed twrp and noticed that this model cannot be rooted so i left the custom recovery as it is. I do not want to swipe right to "allow modifications" as I heard if I do not install the right files it might be stuck in a continuous loop. So I clicked on Keep Read Only. When I try to wipe it keeps on telling me it's failed is it due to being in read only (I also don't see any of the contents on my internal storage)?
Should I flash the stock recovery with odin but I cannot find it for this model. Can someone point me in the right direction?

thanks brava, issue has been resolved
I had this issue recently. The Rogers firmware is pretty near impossible to find. I went on a limb and flashed stock bell firmware and it worked absolutely fine! Give it a shot

T Mobile Stock Firmware files
I did a deep dig and managed to come across the attached files from this source (files conveniently contained in .zip below or feel free to download separately from the source):
(Note: these are T Mobile On5 stock firmware)
AP_G550TUVU1APF1.tar.md5
CP_G550TUVU1APF1.tar.md5
OPT_G550TUVU1APF1.tar.md5
on5ltetmo.pit
From what I read.. one should be able to flash with ODIN. However, I would suggest that you already have a good idea of what you're doing (which files to flash and under which tab in ODIN) before flashing your phone.
All the flashing I have done using ODIN I have done so using only the AP tab>make sure Repartition is off>and disable Auto-Boot (all of those instructions can be found in other threads on xda). However, if anyone would like to chime in with any additional pointers that they feel should be posted please do so.
Otherwise.. I hope these will help some of those stuck w/ that MetroPCS firmware.

Watch my youtube tutorial on how to remove frp lock/unbrick samsung on5 (sm-g550t)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6Yy0f6qtHA&t=4s
Did you guys make sure to click the oem unlock in developer options? Without doing so Odin will always come back with a fail as samsung has locked the boot loader. To enable developer options go to about device and tap on the build version until you see a small pop up on the bottom of the screen saying developer options enabled or something to that nature. Then go back to settings and developer options will be available right above the about device section. Open developer options and scroll down and click one unlock. Once you have done so the try flashing with Odin. Reminder... oem unlock should remain clicked at all times or else &it won't work. Hope this helps.

This must be done BEFORE flashing. Not doing so can brick the device.

I assumed that the device was already bricked and that what they were trying to do is unbrick it again

Yea then if you updated then you may need to use another firmware file. I know that sammobile hasn't even released the one I have in my videos, so I believe you're gong to have some problems finding the upgraded firmware. I could be wrong though.

Does anyone know how to remedy this?

how to do this
I have a Galaxy On5 --Metro PCS version---
How can I disable or remove the update notices which sit in Application Manager and continually pop up and in the top Notification bar? I have checked all the videos on Youtube but nothing works.
My On5 is not rooted (I am happy enough with the stock version, I'm just worried about letting the update go through and messing up my phone.) I don't think the update's downloaded TO my phone. I can't find it and the notification keeps asking me to liberate more space for its download....
How to get rid of it and just stay with the original OS. Thanks for your help!
The system.img in this firmware is corrupt.
I want to flash it by SD Card is it possible?

the problem with this answer is that we, the victims, have already BRICKED OUR PHONES and cannot GET BACK INTO THEM TO ACCESS DEVELOPER OPTIONS.
