To All who are interested (TMO ppl) The South Korean Note is scheduled to be released on 11-29-11. This will be a variant of the Euro version and is scheduled to have penta-band capability (1700/2100) It also is a LTE version capable of 42 mb d/l (theoretically) You can read more here:

This will be the version that is supposed to be compatible with T-Mobile USA.

If some people think there is lag on the Note with the 1.4Ghz Exynos they'll really think it lags with the 1.5Ghz Snapdragon.

Which means it uses Qualcomm S3 which means will likely support T-Mobile band. Great.

I doubt it'll be a problem if you root and get rid of the bloats and after developers get rid of Carrier IQ.

Unless your in an LTE market that this Korean Note will work on and you have an Unlimited data plan there's no reason to get it. The 1.5Ghz Snapdragon is slower than the 1.4Ghz Exynos in the current non-LTE Note. It's slower than the 1.2Ghz Exynos in the SGS2 and people have commented on how the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket which also uses the 1.5Ghz Snapdragon isn't as snappy as the SGS2.
Hold on you know what we should try first, the modem file. Lol

As far as the snapdragon being slow, remember I have tried both chips and unless you are a gamer it is not that noticeable of an issue especially, when new roms start rolling out.
Has anybody found out what bands this new Galaxy Note from Korea will support I can't find anything.
I heard all bands, 1700 aswell.

Actually: CPU Quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 (I9505) VS. Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 (I9500).
In tests it seems that I9505 was only some very small steps behind the 8 core... so I would think carefully. If you plan to change again the phone in next year or so, then yes, go for the 8 core. Otherwise, bear in mind that LTE will become more and more used... and cheaper

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy LTE speeds. But I almost always on WiFi. Probably 90-95 percent of the time I'm using my phone is on WiFi. So LTE is not a big deal to me. And like you said, if I plan on getting a new phone in a year then get the octacore. I get a new phone at least once a year sometimes more.

Not a chance. There really isn't any reason that Samsung would do that. They have already manufactured and moved millions (tens of?) of the lte version. Why on earth would they create another? Octa is just going to appear in their future tablets

To add to your statement. I just read several articles that discussed how the snapdragon processor is designed for the LTE bands used by USA carriers. The Exynos processor requires a lot of work by Samsung to make it work on lte in the us. The note 3 may be the first samsung phone to have the octacore and LTE in the us. But I don't want a 6 inch screen in my front pocket. That would be almost like putting an ipad mini of your pocket. Almost.

One thing I am seeing a lot of is that the GT-i9500 has an overheating problem. Does the GT-i9505 have the same problem or not? I also see a lot more development on the GT-i9505 but I really only want to root to de-bloat and I don't really need custom Ron for that.

The i9505 will only get hot under intensive use such as gaming or the likes. I had no choice in choosing an i9500 or i9505, but I don't mind. The octacore is all nice when the technology works as Samsung advertised it, but it doesn't, and the i9505 doesn't lag at all for me. Plenty of development and debloated ROM's to keep you happy.

Again, that's what was said about the S3. That quad core + lte was too hard but then the S3 4g i9305 was released. Remember from release they had a quad core + lte in Korea so why people were saying it was too hard beats me. And now again the Korean model is both Octa and lte.
My money is on an Octa + lte around September.

I am using a I9505. What I can say is that, while it get warm/hot under certain circumstances (mostly games + charging in parallel), it is the 'coldest' phone I had until now. Compared, even the S3 is getting much hotter. So far, I did not find the temperature as a disturbing point (as with several other phones).

are the wifi only p600 ones and only 16gb. I want a 32gb model but i am not sure if local samsung stores will ever release it in

If you want 32 gb probably you can buy at the online retailer like kimstore they sold 32 gb lte version but they dont have samsung warranty i guess well 16 gb is good enough for a moderate gamer just add a 64 gb microsd card

Of course you're welcome here, it's the internet! The only reason I see for this thread being exclusive for Philippines is difference in hardware or accessories availability in that particular region that may not benefit others from reading posts here. So far I have not seen anything on this thread relevant to a specific region. But if this thread were to exclude anyone who is not Filipino, then that's just silly. The Philippines and its people are known to be very friendly and hospitable to all ethnicity. Just be prepared if no one bothers to explain any cultural differences because it would be assumed everyone here knows what is being talked about, for example:
1. Can I change my tablet to wake up by saying "Hoy!" instead of "hi Galaxy!"?
2. My wife gets mad at me when I use my tablet while we're eating dinner. She says it's too hard to clean the rice off the display. (some Filipinos prefer to eat with their hands)
3. My wife got mad at me for cursing at the tablet in front of the kids. I was only using voice search for Manny's next fight! (Pacquiao, some Filipinos can't pronounce the letter F, so F*** you could sound like Pacquiao)
By the way, I'm not racist, I'm FBI. Full Blooded Ilokano.
---------- Post added at 07:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:28 AM ----------

Odd. I have stock wife 10.1 2014, with the 5.3v. 2A. Charger I goes from 0 to full in about 3 hours. I use it all day as a college student and it easily lasts all day with the screen on. Middle to low brightness, no auto.
I've been the most impressed with the battery duration and charge time more than any other device I've used. The right charger AND cable are important. Other wise it could take 24 hours or more to charge

Like you,
I'm anxious, waiting to pull the trigger on the LTE. I don't want Verizon either because they lock you into a contract and even worse, they lock bootloaders. Not sure if you're into rooting and stuff, but it is a major deciding factor for me. Right now I'm weighing the slow charge time of Wi-fi, which is negligible if the LTE versions will be bootloader locked by carriers.I'm definitely getting the 64GB though. Your thoughts?
I wouldn't worry about Verizon getting it any time soon. As of Saturday it is not listed in their system and someone I know at Corporate said it is at least 2-3 months out. Take that with a grain of salt as VZ typically has no clue when they will be getting something
Um Mike then why are leaks saying March 6th for Verizon launch?
I just want what I want and that is unlocked LTE version so I can decide of I want to get service with Sprint or not.
I'm not a fan of data cap plans...I know with our usage ever increasing that is tough to find.

Too funny. What do I know Verizon released the 12.2 LTE for 850 with no contract. Only 100 off with a 2 year commitment.
I'll stick with my WiFi
http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/06/galaxy-note-pro-for-verizon/?ncid=rss_truncated
I hear ya bud. On a positive note, when I need LTE I can use it. Sprint unfortunately is lacking in some places and that will help on camping trip and what not so my phone won't have to be hotspot the whole time.
Yea only $100 off didn't sway me either that's why I paid 850 for no contract and $40/month to month for 4GB...it's potentially a positive thing. Obviously I will have to monitor my usage on 4lte but I'll at least have that as an option. The chipset might be minor to some and to that I say kudos, but for me, recharging and using it is key as well as how long it takes to recharge if you shut it off.
Well I have 14 days to test it if I change.my mind
