Was going to try one of the new roms with android cooked in. it said i had to install task29. after i ran it through custom ruu i bricked!!!! i was running astraios 1.7 - now im stuck at the white screen with htc in green and it says quietly brilliant underneath in black!
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
You're fine my friend, task29 has removed the OS from your device leaving you with only the splash screen and radio. Now you just need to flash the ROM. So go into bootloader (hold volume down while booting) and connect device to PC via activesync. You should see "USB" at the bottom, then run the RUU.exe and you're good to go
phew! thanks a lot!!!
I have searched far and wide to solve this problem and have finally found the solution somewhere hidden amongst pages and pages of text.
I tried installing Android onto my phone until it stopped at the boot process (white screen with green HTC logo) and that was it... I have seen many people asking how to get around this problem. Here is what I found:
1. Enter boot loader by holding down volume down button and the on/off/hold button.
2. When the screen with red, green, blue, white colours comes up connect the phone to your PC and start ActiveSync. In the white bit USB should show up instead of serial.
3. Now install ROM update form HTC website.
That's it! I spent 2 days trying to create a GoldCard to boot the ROM from my micro SD card until I saw this hidden somewhere.
Hope this helps!
Firstly, this is not hidden, it is almost the default answer to stuck on boot up screen.
Secondly, why are you goldcarding? If you have a 3.14 ROM, downgrade it to a non3.14 ROM (taking great care that it is one suitable for your phone). Install HSPL to 2.08.HSPL flash a .50 RADIO (2.08.50 or higher) then go through the process of flashing the NAND Android. If you are dual booting and simply running Android of the SD card, then you probably don't need to flash anything.
My HTC HD2 is stuck at bootup. I read where it may be to do with overheating so I left it for a while then rebooted. it went from booting nand screen to the htc hd2 on the black screen and just stuck there.
cooled it again and restarted but now it is stuck on bootup screen again.
I have MAGLDR V1.12 by Cortulla.
oh by the way, I had reset the phone once.
I am a total newbie so if someone could give me a step by step idiot guide to solve the problem and at the same time flash the latest rom and android version then I would very much appreciate it.
MODS!

What's ROM you used?

Hi, I am having a problem where my phone is stuck in a rebooting cycle. When I power it up I get the T-Mobile screen (btw is there a way to get rid of that?) and then the 1,2,3,4... screen. Then the screen goes blank and reboots and the same thing happens again and again...
I had flashed it to WM7 so I was thinking that might be the problem. I wanted to load the stock ROM anyways but I'm not sure how I can do that now with the problem I having.
I tried powering it up while holding the volume down button. I get to the red, blue, green screen but my XP system doesn't detect the phone. Activesync doesn't recognize it either.
When reading how to flash it back to stock ROM, I remember one site said that it doesn't matter if it doesn't sync the utility would still be able to flash it back to stock. I want to make sure though so I don't brick the phone.
Any help would be appreciated.
yes it should still work. theres only been one computer ive used to flash (android or wp7) that recognized my leo and it has been successful. SOMETIMES ive gotten an error about halfway through the process but i just restarted and it went off beautifully.
flashing back stock rom ive never had ANY problems PERIOD and phone was never detected. good luck

yes, look up changing the splashscreen. you flash them just like flashing winmo roms and radios.
and then the 1,2,3,4... screen. Then the screen goes blank and reboots and the same thing happens again and again...

this type of bootloop, so early into teh boot sequence, (especially if the phone is stable when in bootloader) is very often a bent/broken/not connecting battery connector.

activesync never does in bootloader. the instructions to get an activesync connection' doesnt mean activesync teh program, it means 'get a usb connection to your computer', , if it says usb in the white area of bootloader you are good to go.

Thanks for all of the advice. I was unable to get it to flash properly. I started the process and a progress bar showed up on the phone but then at 1% I got an error on the PC saying that a connection cannot be established with the phone.
I then tried the SD card method (copying RUU_signed.nbh to an SD card after renaming it to leoimg.nbh), but it seems to have made it worse. I started up the phone in bootloader with this file on the sd card and it started the flashing process. A couple of minutes later it stopped with this showing up on the screen:
00018003
LEOIMG.nbh - FAIL
RADIO_V2 - RSA FAIL
RCUST -
BOOTLOADER -
SPLASH1 -
OS -
CONFIGDATA -
Update Terminate
UPDATE FAIL

Now when I power up the phone I get this message:

And if I start up in bootloader I get this:

Please help. I don't know what to do. This is getting very frustrating.
I also experienced the reboot loop,
I used another SD card and that solved it.
only problem is, now I have a fukked up microSD card, and I have not found a device that is able to format it.
When my phone goes into a boot loop (i.e., powers up, shows boot screen, gets past MAGDLR, goes to the loading screen, then reboots), I only need to connect it to a wall-plug to charge it and voila, it starts for me.
I have no idea why this is the case, it is very random if and when it goes into a boot loop. But I've heard that most reboots are related to the SD cards.
One solution you can try is to fill up the SD-card. Fill it up to say 30 ~ 40 % full of stuff? Apparently, this will give you some luck in filling up the sectors of the card that aren't "sufficiently" fast enough for WP7 that might be causing the reboot. I did that for mine and it drastically cut down on the rate of how often it rebooted. Now it's once every few days whereas it used to be a few reboots in a single day.
Sorry to bump this old thread but things came up and I didn't get a chance to try to resolve this and I sort of forgot about it.
I now have been trying to fix it again using some of the suggestions here but the phone is acting funny. When I first tried to power it up nothing happened. I figured because it had been sitting so long, so I plugged it in to the charger. As soon as I did the phone powered up without me pressing anything. Then the red, green, blue, and white screen that looked like this:
______________________RUUNBH
PB81120 HX-B3
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
______________0x05

popped up on the screen and then it immediately went to a gray screen that said "loading...." It was stuck on this so I removed the battery. When I inserted the battery back in and powered it up the camera flash went off and it vibrated continuously. The same thing happened a second time when I tried. I thought I would let the battery charge overnight, so I plugged it into the charger. The charging light never came on but I thought I would see anyways.
When I checked on it in the morning, the screen was lit up gray but there was nothing else. I took out the battery, popped it back in but the phone wouldn't turn on. I took out the battery and let it sit for about 15 mins. I put it back in but it wouldn't power up if I pressed the power button. I held the volume down button and pressed the power button and the same thing happened with the red, green, blue, and white RUUNBH screen coming up and then it immediately goes to "loading..."
I took out the battery to power it down and tried again, but nothing happened. Again, I took out the battery and let it sit for 15 mins. but this time I also removed SD card. Now when I hold Volume down and press power and the RUUNBH screen comes up:

I then plugged it into the computer through USB and the "Serial" on the screen changed to "USB" and in device manager it shows up as Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM.
I want to try getting it back to stock but because of the things mentioned above, I am afraid of screwing it up even more beyond repair. I am a novice so terms like HSPL and radio is a bit confusing to me. Thanks in advance.
Bump. I went on the HTC website to see if I could find the appropriate ROM. I entered my IMEI number and it directed me to download Version 2.13.531.1
It seems like this is a different version than what is showing up on my phone right now.
I'm not sure how I should proceed and doing a search I find differing advice. Any help would be appreciated.
you have HSPL 2.08 already on device...

Thanks dxdy. I edited my post; I'm not sure if that changes anything. I ideally I would like to eventually use this phone with WP7 but I thought I would need to get back to stock W6.5. Can I follow the WP7 tutorial even given the state my phone is in?
if you want back to stock wm6.5 only need to flash stock ROM...
maybe you can try the mtty to erase it
hello,
i have a broken hd2, so i buyed a hd2 motherboard. unfortunately it was a bricked one (on bootloader shows the message "upgrade rom error"). tried everything, but i've noticed that i can change the spl to hspl and viceversa, can do task29, but can't install magldr or stock rom. tried also to install after hspl custom rom, finnished, but on reboot shows only the logo and that's all.
so i decided to jtag the mb. tried to flash first HD2_512_0x00000000_GOOD.bin file, but when finnished flashing, the guy with jtag can't see the partitions... tried then HTC_Leo_Full512MB_00AD_55BC_Alive.bin, got an error on a memory location (0x00001A9C0000), but finally flashed with success. when tried to start the phone, got the htc green screen, but after that entered in "booting loop"... what can i do ?!?!?!?!?!
tried change the battery, observed the power pins, but still boot loop...
can you tell me please what to do????
I would think mainboard nand is bad or other hardware fault is present.
Your initial symptoms was not indicating bricked board.
tried to install stock rom but got error (8% load...)
after that hspl again, wipe 29, works both. tried to install magldr: both 1.2 and 1.3 success, but on magldr menu i don't have any options...
press the tiny reboot button compared to battery pull!
