[APP] Battery History - Oppo Find 5

Due to the lack of the battery history feature in the stock ROM I wrote this application that simply shows the usual battery usage graph.

Perfect! Odd that it was left/taken out of the current stable stock ROM.

Issues with Battery Drain while Asleep

My motorola xoom gets great battery life when I use it.. However, When my tablet is asleep, i drained 25% in 6 hours
When I looked at battery uses - it showed android OS was eating up the battery while asleep/standy by -
Anyone know what is causing Android OS to be burning my battery while asleep?
I am on airplane mode with wifi on, and the ONLY running services i have are
"settings" ; "thumb keyboard" ; and "google services"
I am NOT rooted, im running the latest update 3.0.1
additionally, I dont think its a battery issue, as I get great battery with continuous use.
looks like theres background services running. make sure you're not pulling updates for any of your apps overnight.
proper test, is to have no 3rd party applications, and leaving it overnight.

"Android OS" can contain the background update services.
What do your wifi settings look like? the simple idea that the antenna is on or scanning for something that's not there will drain life too

Yep, if your settings are to poll every 10 mins for email, facebook, twitter etc then it'll take a definite toll on your battery.

CM9 ICS battery life saving's tips with Advanced CMSettings.apk

Hello to everyone.
I know that there are some similar threads in this forum, but no one is strictly related to the CM9 alpha IML74K.
I know as well that this could be part of the CM9 user discussion thread, but I'd like to share the best settings to get a good battery life with our S2 in a clean thread.
So, please:
no trolls, no dumb questions.
Just share your own experience (with a battery screenshot should be better).
Thanks a lot.
Here we go:
Developer options:
Debug usb off
Allow mock locations off
Force GPU rendering off
Windows animation scale off
Transition animation scale off
Don't keep activities on
Background process limit on
Kill app back button on
Display:
Automatic brightness off (I'm using Brightness Level widget)
Black wallpaper (search for solid black.png from wikipedia)
Sleep after 1 minute of inactivity.
Pulse notification light off.
Trebuchet options:
Scroll wallpaper off
Sync settings:
Google account
Sync calendar on
Sync Contacts on
Sync Gmail on
Whattsapp account:
Sync Contacts on
Sound Settings:
Touch sounds off
Screen lock sounds off
Vibrate on touch off
Location services:
Google's location service on
Location & Google search on
(Gps satellites on only when using Sygic or Maps)
Date and time:
Automatic date & time off
Automatic time zone off
CyanogenMod Settings app v1.0:
Interface Settings/Expanded view widget
Toggle 2G/3G checked
Toggle Mobile data checked
For a quick switch to 2G mode and save more battery.
Testing "twek levels and filtering" in automatic backlight settings.
With Titanium Backup:
Frozen all live wallpapers, tts services and uninstalled Gtalk and mail.
P.S. Be careful, you need debug usb on when using Titanium Backup
Data on all the day. I turn it off when I go to bed.
Wireless on when I'm home and need to use dropbox or download a big file from my Gmail account.
I'm using CM9 01062012 (I know, there's a new one, but I've reached a very stable daily rom, no FC, no random reboots, fast and smooth).
Modem XXKL1
Now my battery lasts two days.
Well, when my girlfriend tells me stories about her life, it lasts one day and a half.
Important:
I've uninstalled Facebook app which was causing a battery drain. I'm using the mobile web page instead and I've to tell that it is faster.
Other apps installed:
Twitter, Maps, Sygic, Whattsapp, Beatiful widgets (with manual weather update), Xda premium, ...
2012-01-14 Added CyanogenMod Settings Apk v1.0 (from SGS forums)
How to install:
Download it to your internal SD card
Enter into Recovery mode;
Wipe cache;
Advanced settings, wipe dalvik cache;
Flash zip from Sdcard,
Choose CMSettings.zip and flash it.
Reboot system
2011-01-18 Update:
I've been trying few modems and I've found the best one for me: (Vodafone Spain, data on almost all the time, good signal quality, great battery life)
NEKD5 Modem Zip package.
Flash from recovery. Follow cmsettings instructions.
Nice post. Going to try some your suggestions.
I'm sure loads of other xdaers are going find this useful too.
So many posts in the cm9 discussion thread about battery life and how to achieve optimum performance good to have a thread about it.
Big props

I also agree on removing the Facebook app ATM its killing of battery life.
We have similar settings besides using Facebook let me see if things improve tmr

Apparently its a bug. It makes the OS look like its working over time but actually it won't be. Its somewhere in the cm discussion thread if you want to see the posts about it. As far as aware its not fixed yet with any of the builds.

The same here. But I've noticed that using Fastreboot app, it seems to kill/restart stuck apps/processes.
Anyway, rebooting the system before the night helps a lot.
Unless you're not a modern vampire...
Agree with others - excellent thread. There seem to be so many battery challenges with CM9 that a separate thread will lessen clutter in the discussion thread.
I've tried a number of your settings and have also flashed the KL1 modem. I had high hopes for KP4 at first, but it seems to have slipped back into old habits!
Has anyone looked into the FB-app? Why its causing battery problems?

The app and the process are still running after you close them.
I have tried to logout, but it's still there. I think the process keeps going for notifications and photo uploading.
I've tried to kill it, but it comes back after few seconds.
Finally I gave up and used the mobile web page.

But that isn't related to CM9, i had the same issues on gingerbread.
Yes, sir.
I knew it.
But it seems to me that Facebook app is eating more battery on ICS.
Checked my battery info and found out FB app percentage was 15% in 6 hours and I've used it just to read few messages. Then I've logged out.
I could be wrong, but I think it needs an update to control battery drain.
Indeed. I'll bet there are a host of apps that will need subtle tweaks and optimisations for ICS. Another reason not to expect too much from CM9 in terms of performance as yet...although access to kernal sources is obviously the big one!
CM settings
Trying right now CyanogenMod Settings app.
Flashable zip from recovery. The apk goes to /system.
It comes from GTi9000 forum and as I can see, it works perfectly on my S2.
It doesn't have so many options, but few are very important.
Let's have a look...
I'd be very interested on your feedback on this app.
On a different subject, I seem to have my battery back behaving reasonably well again with KP1 modem. In my tons of testing it seems like Nova Launcher - as much as I like it - is a significant contributor to my battery drain issues.
This could be because I have installed a bunch more stuff on Nova than I have with Trebuchet, so my next tactic is to gradually reintroduce some of my favourite widgets to Trebuchet to see if one of them suddenly starts killing my battery.
On the down side it may mean that I can't use one of my widgets for a while but on the plus side it may eliminate Nova as a battery drain meaning that I can go back to using it.
Have you tried FBM for facebook?
Basically the same look as the facebook app. But supposedly a lot cleaner!

As I said before, don't expect a very useful app. It's the 1.0 version, and hopefully it will be a great app. But for now I've tried only some settings in the automatic backlight and modified the notification power widget.
At the moment, that's all we have. Anyway, give it a try, if you'd like.
Screenshots added in the first post.
Anyone able to disable button's backlight? Its still on even though i set it to "0" in the custom settings..
Another thing,is it possible to the haptic feedback tweaks like in cm7 settings?
Back from some modem testings, I'd like to say that NEKD5 has surprised me.
Never loosing data at all, best battery life and no problem with sms and sync.
Here you've got it.

But I think had the same problem under gingerbread till the devs optimized the kernel...

[Q] Interesting battery/keyboard behaviour

Today I noticed some strange battery drain and of course went on inspection. In the battery stats window the keyboard was on top of the list with 15%. The rest of the stats are in the attached image. Why would such a thing happen? NSA?
BTW, I'm using AOKP (nightly) for the first time, so could it be more of a feature than a bug (highly unlikely)?

No, but strange as it seems, I checked the settings menu for the add-on dictionaries and the screen started flashing as if it was refreshing all the time not letting me delete any of the languages I don't want.
For now, I'm going to leave it as it is and wait for another nightly.
Do you have the aosp keyboard installed as well?
If that is the case then you should try removing one of them.

@Kantastisch,
Hi, are these APPs download from the third party or not? If you download many APP, there is no doubt such APP would cost your phone's battery. Also you can choose the better battery usage in the settings. It can be helpful if you choose the right battery save modes.

Yes, I enabled this option.
I think its related to android battery optimization... Because I use Greenify recently, and before I use Greenify have this problem too.
Ex: I run Orbot and ACR(Auto Call Recorder) and these apps open sticky notification. But some times android close these apps and show a notification about "These apps drain your battery", But I set Not optimize option for these apps!

It kills apps because the device cant handle it. Its 1.5GB of RAM on a 4 year old budget device not a new flagship which has tons of RAM and is able to keep apps open.
Your expecting too much from this old slugger.
