Instant upload message. - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anybody know how I get rid of this message when taking a photo.
View attachment 2046836
For the sake of search engines it says:
The first time the InstantUpload is running you must be online, so the target folder can successfully created by the upload process
I don't know if this is a cyanogenmod feature; if it is I can't find a setting for it, or something to do with Dropbox or Google+. I don't think it is either of them as I have never seen the message on the stock Rom.
Thanks for any help.
Jay.

Instant upload is a feature of Google+ , you can turn it off and will not get such messages. Instant upload uploads any photo you capture to Google+ and pops in a folder in your gallery, since you are not online, it tries to upload photo but fails.
Go to Google+ settings and turn off auto backup option in camera and photos if you are on latest version otherwise it will be listed as instant upload in settings and turn it off
Instant upload was recently renamed to auto backup

[How to] set gallery to show photo only from phone

Just got this phone. Would like to seek advice from experienced members here.
How do I set the gallery to show only photos from phone by default? By default the setting is all, which includes picassa and Dropbox, which makes opening gallery rather slow as it loads photos from there. Every time I have to set it to view photo from phone only.
Can it be done? Using stock stock rom but rooted.

Click to collapse
the main reason i want to do this is because it takes a minute or so to load my photos due to the fact it is searching for photos on my picassa account.
however, i found a way to disable that.
settings->google (under "accounts")->[your email, under "accounts"]->untick "sync picasa web albums"
done! i also unticked sync chrome, currents, google+, instant upload, internet... i left contacts, gmail and calander as i use them.
thanks everyone for trying to help me. i really appreciate that

Nexus 4 Instant Upload issue

Hi! I have an annoying issue with google instant upload. If I go to my gallery and settings and I go to the synced accounts , it is selected in the google account , the google photos and instant upload are selected. Now , for whatever reason in the gallery I have the Camera folder and two instant upload folders.... one of them is the normal one with all the photos and one is empty. That one dissapears only when I go to picasa web albums and delete de empty album but that doesn;t work because everytime I take a new photo that empty album appears again and it has as name the date I took the picture. Can someone please help me to fix this and only appear a single instant upload folder?
PS I already tried this: I disable instant upload and only let google photos but then it won't upload the pics anymore; If i disable google photos and let only instant upload it happens exactly the same
It has been assumed that this is a bug on Google's side with the transition away from Picasa to G+. There is only one way I know to get rid of it and that is to delete both folders and then turn photo sharing off. Instant upload will still work, but the albums will no longer keep appearing in Gallery.

Gmail issue

my girlfriend just got the s4 shes coming from an old droid and she uses gmail religiously for work
when composing an email theres attach photo, attach video but no attach document...i know a way around this is to go to the files and hit share then it will attach to a new email
but the issue with using that as a work around is if you want to reply to an email with a document attachment that wont work for that you would need a menu option like photo and video has
the old gmail app on her phone she can just attach whatever her phone wasnt able to update to this gmail version
anyone got any ideas on how to solve this issue
For me,I have selected "attach photo" then selected my ES file explorer app(instead of gallery), and was able to attach documents(.txt file) to the email. See if that works for her.

How the heck do you stop google from instantly syncing your photos?

Every time I take a picture with my phone. It's instantly synced with all my android devices. I disabled picture syncing and it still uploads it to a folder. It shows under a folder called "auto backup" with the picasa logo. Also I can't figure out how to delete the pictures from that folder. This is soooo annoying.
Are you talking about Google+'s instant upload? I know there are options to sync photos under your Google account settings. I can't remember if instant upload is there as well. Try opening G+ and look in settings.
mjwhitta - Galaxy S4
Go to your accounts on settings. And then hit whichever email account it is. Then uncheck sync picassa.
