Every time I take a picture with my phone. It's instantly synced with all my android devices. I disabled picture syncing and it still uploads it to a folder. It shows under a folder called "auto backup" with the picasa logo. Also I can't figure out how to delete the pictures from that folder. This is soooo annoying.
Are you talking about Google+'s instant upload? I know there are options to sync photos under your Google account settings. I can't remember if instant upload is there as well. Try opening G+ and look in settings.

Go to your accounts on settings. And then hit whichever email account it is. Then uncheck sync picassa.

I have none of my picasa Albums selected of "view offline" however if I turn wireless off. I can still view the pictures. I plan to upload alot of pics to Picasa and don't want to fill my nexus up. I also noticed that my nexus 7 became laggy after I started putting pictures up on Picasa. I just want to make sure that it is copying all my pics down to the nexus.
Have you found an answer to this yet? I also have been trying to figure out the same thing. I thought at first it was just the thumbnails but once I view an album the pictures seem to remain cached despite my offline setting.
Isn't this to do with G+ instant upload???? Go to accounts in settings Google, then look at what syncs turn off Google pictures and instant upload and anything else that resembles g+ go to apps All scroll to gallery clear data and reboot and they'll be gone

Yes, from what I've gathered it is the G+ instant and Google Pictures sync that adds the "picassa" albums to the gallery. I actually wanted my picasa albums in my gallery, however as I have over 100 albums I wanted them visible and accessible when online (to save space). I only want to chose a few select albums (kids, work stuff, etc) to make "available offline" but so far it appears as soon as I view an album it saves the full images in cache and still shows up when I'm offline, I don't want my storage getting eaten up by pictures that I only plan to view when online.
Just got this phone. Would like to seek advice from experienced members here.
How do I set the gallery to show only photos from phone by default? By default the setting is all, which includes picassa and Dropbox, which makes opening gallery rather slow as it loads photos from there. Every time I have to set it to view photo from phone only.
Can it be done? Using stock stock rom but rooted.

the main reason i want to do this is because it takes a minute or so to load my photos due to the fact it is searching for photos on my picassa account.
however, i found a way to disable that.
settings->google (under "accounts")->[your email, under "accounts"]->untick "sync picasa web albums"
done! i also unticked sync chrome, currents, google+, instant upload, internet... i left contacts, gmail and calander as i use them.
thanks everyone for trying to help me. i really appreciate that
1. When the quick setting profile is clicked it'll say " the contact doesn't exist"
2.If you got picasa photos in you gallery you'll have to un sync/delete photos in your Google account somehow

My quick setting profile works fine. I think you just need to log into the google+ app if it isn't working now.
Hi! I have an annoying issue with google instant upload. If I go to my gallery and settings and I go to the synced accounts , it is selected in the google account , the google photos and instant upload are selected. Now , for whatever reason in the gallery I have the Camera folder and two instant upload folders.... one of them is the normal one with all the photos and one is empty. That one dissapears only when I go to picasa web albums and delete de empty album but that doesn;t work because everytime I take a new photo that empty album appears again and it has as name the date I took the picture. Can someone please help me to fix this and only appear a single instant upload folder?
PS I already tried this: I disable instant upload and only let google photos but then it won't upload the pics anymore; If i disable google photos and let only instant upload it happens exactly the same
It has been assumed that this is a bug on Google's side with the transition away from Picasa to G+. There is only one way I know to get rid of it and that is to delete both folders and then turn photo sharing off. Instant upload will still work, but the albums will no longer keep appearing in Gallery.
Having an issue with the Gallery.
I had Picasa photo sync turned on and I didn't want my Gallery cluttered with old pictures/wallpapers that I've had over the past year. So I went, logged onto Picasa on my computer, and deleted all of the albums. However whenever I go into the Gallery app in my N4, and click the menu button and click refresh, all of my albums pop up.
I cannot access them as they have no pictures but they show the name of the album. I know I can choose to not sync them, hit refresh and fix the problem that way but it's a little OCD-type of thing that I just don't like. I've tried clearing cache and data in both the Gallery app and the Picasa uploader app in Settings-->Applications.
Tl;dr: I deleted all my Picasa albums on my computer but they still appear in my Gallery on my phone. I need a way to delete/remove them without turning off sync.
EDIT: Nevermind, found a solution. Please delete this thread, thanks!
To this day I have found no cure for deleting them unless you wipe your ROM, flash a new one, disable photo sync, and uninstall picasa with titanium. That's only to prevent it. Once it syncs the only solution is a wipe....
What was the solution?????
