[Q] LG L7 p700 rootloop - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

dear all,
last night I've been struck with a serious problem;
I tried to update my phone using the update function in the settings menu (using a rooted version of V20A), after it finished downloading it asked to reboot and install, so I pressed install and it turned of, it then opened my recovery mode, which is Cwm v6.0.3.0.
whatever I try (wipe data/factory reset, cache, dalvik or even KDZ flash another rom), it still keeps showing up the recovery, I can't get past it, even if I try the exitrecovery fix some people shared on the forum!
can anyone help me with this problem?

Flash your stock firmware with Software update [KDZ] 1.0.4.4 (KDZ-Flasher).

[HELP][SOLVED] Can't flash, NO IMEI

I tried to install homero's v20a rom,but I didn't liked it.
So I tried to get back to ICS from my NANDroid backup, but i had no signal.
Now I'm trying to roll back tu ICS. The only problem is: when I follow the guide to roll back from CM10 to v10k/Unbricking the phone, this is what i get.
http://puu.sh/2rc5f
PS. The phone can boot in ICS with no signal and everything else works, even wifi.
EDIT: I can even boot in recovery! Why won't KDZ let me flash?
EDIT2: Battery on,PC Software mode: I get the error.
Battery off, emergency mode: I get the error.
I'm thinking of flashing cm10 from recovery but the phone is still booting, I don't want to lose my data if I can solve the problem in another way.
EDIT3: LG Mobile Support Tool says that the phone is connected and needs the update, but if I launch it it says "problem in comunication with the phone"
EDIT4: I did a wipe cache, factory reset and dalvik cache wipe. Still not working and I noticed i have no IMEI!
EDIT5: Flashed the modified version of v10k,i'm back to ICS with my IMEI.
Do you have p700? If yes , where can I find the modified v20k?
Thank you

[Q] Soft Bricked after Factory Reset - Please Help

So guys, this is what I did:
1. Did full wipe/data/cache on CWM touch recovery
2. Flash MahDi Rom
3. Flash D802 patch
4. Flash GApps stock full 4.4
Then booted up succesfully but found out I have no root
5. So I flashed SuperSu 1.3
Booted up successfully again, but strangely, I couldn't connect to Playstore of even Google+, so I decided to re-setup my device.
6. I did Factory Reset, then the problem started. After I did the Factory Reset, the Android Robot (one with spinning thing in belly) just showing up for 20mins. I thought, it safe to hard reboot since it's only a "Factory Reset" but alas, after I reboot I'm stuck with LG Logo
Then after 20 mins, I'm stuck with the loading 4 circels after Google Logo on Mahdi until forever.
I can still see the Download Mode on my device but I'm not sure if restoring thru kdz is my only option now.
Any ideas what happened and the steps should I take to fix my device?
Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. I just like to update that my phone went okay when I open the LG tool and there's new software upgrade to Kitkat so that solve my problem.

[Q] LG D802 stuck after trying OTA

Hi all,
After holding off on the kitkat bandwagon for a while, I decided once the OTA was available that I should just do it.
Background - this is a D802 european model with root on stock 4.2.2 firmware. I also have TWRP 2.6.3.3 installed.
Prior to proceeding with the update, I made a backup of the phone and rebooted the phone a couple of times to make sure everything was okay.
After that, I then clicked install on the OTA and the phone rebooted. After rebooting it has been constantly going to TWRP. I have tried wipe dalvik, wipe cache, restore backup, restore factory settings, reboot to system but nothing works.
Also, trying to get into download mode just boots into TWRP. When I try to do a adb sideload, the device just shows up on the PC as LG-D802 and no drivers are found for the device so I am not able to install a new firmware or can't try to go back to stock either.
Please help!

Did you use the latest version of ODIN to flash the CF Root?
Think Odin3 v3.10.6 is the latest current version
If you used an old version, try flashing it again using the new one, other than that, I can only suggest trying to fix permissions in recovery if it has that option, TWRP should have it, and finally a factory reset, which is not ideal

i used Odin3-v3.07
but after flashing the root everything worked installed superSU and updated it and its binaries and installed busybox,.
it all stopped working after i went into Stock Recovery and back
id prefer not to do a factory reset Wipe,. unless i really have to to fix it ,.
im going to try reflash with the latest version then,.
i have swapped SD card to galaxy tab to put the Flashable touch recovery on the SD card, and swapped back to the phone so i could Flash the Recovery when im in stock ,.
but ill try flashing Root with latest Odin first.. thank you

the new odin is a bit less informative (to me as beginner)
i managed to use AP to flash the root again
all goes fine , it reboots
and its now upgrading android as it says and opening app's
then Black screen again,. i klick a button,. and it shows me again all the STOPPED msg's of all internal apps that are crashing,. litterally all apps,
what can i do ?
If clearing cache didn't work, fixing permissions in recovery didn't work, only thing left I can think of is factory reset

i cant fix persmission in stock recovery and flashing the philz touch recovery didnt work something about not verify signature,.
al i can do i guess is wipe data factory reset ,.but im affraid it wont fix anything
Try TWRP recovery instead
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/229
No reason a factory reset won't fix things, worst comes to worst, flash the whole ROM again from ODIN, that will fix everything as it wipes and reinstalls the lot
Grab a stock ROM from sammobile
Thank you for all your replys mate..
I managed to get it working again by doing a factory reset in stock recovery after I flashed root with latest odin
Even tho it was my last resort there was nothing else I guess .
I'm not sure tho if this will happen again when I go back to recovery like I did when this all happend the first time while I actually want to flash a more advanced recovery then stock recovery ..
But I'll take my chances and just leave it as it is
Again thank you for your help and suggestions .

Pleased you got it working again, I would say if you think you might want to flash another advanced recovery in the future, it might be best to do that now since you have already factory reset the phone, that way if this happens again, you don't lose months of data and settings and files that you have gathered between now and whenever you decide to flash recovery

i have actually ,. i installed the TWRP u mentioned,. by taking there app from the Playstore,. and flashed the new recovery, within android and without rebooting (just in case)
im used to the old CWM thats why i first wanted the Touch recovery as its based on it,
but always open for trying new things
Thank you
Good stuff
Id say the whole entering recovery / apps crashing thing was a problem with the ODIN version you used to root, too old for Lollipop is my guess, so I wouldn't worry about entering recovery again.

Need Help; My LG G6 (H870) keeps booting in TWRP and I can't install stock ROM

Hi,
I unlocked the bootloader of my H870, installed TWRP 3.1.1.0 and SUPERSU. Everything was working great untill I decided to restore my system defaults to make a fresh start with my G6. After choosing the option to restore system defaults, my phone rebooted and it booted into TWRP. I rebooted my phone and it kept doing this all the time.
I decided to look for a stock ROM and flash that ROM.
I succesfully flashed the "LG-H87010f-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip" ROM (from autoprime's post) trough TWRP. But this did not work. I even wiped all the data from my phone (even system) and flashed the ROM again; still nothing.
Before having this issue, I had the same Baseband version, Kernel version, Build number. Only the dates and the Software Version are different.
I had the V10b-EUR-XX Software Version installed on my phone. I see this is the 10f version. I guess this should not be a problem right?
After this I took these steps solve this issue:
1. Downloaded new LG Mobile Drivers (LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0)
2. Downloaded and installed LGUP. LGUP doesnt recognize my phone as a LG G6 and this method did not work for that reason.
Fastboot mode is working on my phone; I can reboot my phone trough the commandline on my PC and things like that . However, my PC is not recognizing my phone as a LG G6 device in Fastboot mode.
My PC recognices my phone as a H870 when in TWRP. In Fastboot mode it recognices my phone as Android Device.
3. Installed LG Bridge for more drivers; did not work either
4. Downloaded Uppercut, but it doenst work without LGUP.
4. Looked all over the internet to find a Stock ROM in .zip or .img format; found nothing
5. Downloaded WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.6.1 and tried to extract the H87010d_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0327.kdz file. I extracted it into .bin files, but they were not usable. After that, I combined these .bin files into a system.img file. But that .img file was bigger then 5 GB and for that reason it was not usable to flash trough Fastboot or TWRP.
7. Looked for other methods to obtain a H870 Stock Rom, including another extraction method, but I cant figure out how to do this.
I have spend countless hours on this problem, but I cant find an usable H870 stock rom to flash my phone with.
Is there someone that can help me out with this problem? Im willing to donate some € if someone helps me to get my phone working again.
Really hoping for a kind person to help me out and provide me solution for this issue.
Thanks in advance
Try formating data in TWRP(not factory reset) then flash the 10f complete zip. Trying to perform a factory reset from within Android could have possibly messed up your data (due to TWRP being installed instead of stock recovery) so a full data format is needed.
Lgup most likely doesn't detect the phone because you wiped system. But flashing the complete zip should have restored system.
In the future make backups in TWRP to restore later.. or flash a kdz with lg bridge or lgup without wiping system first.

Thanks for your reply. I have already formatted data in TWRP, but im still having this problem . It seems like something is preventing my device from starting up. I have flashed several ROMS on other devices, but never experienced something like this. Is there something else I can try? Can I flash the stock recovery and flash the stock ROM? I got the feeling TWRP is causing this issue.
If its possible to flash stock recovery, where can I find it?

Flash the complete zip then boot into download mode and flash kdz. Lgup should see the device as a g6 now instead of unknown device. If lgup isn't seeing any device at all (including unknown device) then your setup is off.. missing drivers or something. If that doesn't work.. idk.

Don't factory reset using the in phone option. You can only do this through twrp's option. To fix this you'll need to boot through the hard side, using power and volume down until the lg logo appears then release power for 1 sec and then repress keeping volume down pressed. Confirm yes twice on the white screens to get to twrp. Once in twrp then reset again and reflash the system. Then using twrps img installer flash your twrp img(make sure it is on ext sd) again. Then reboot.

I just booted this way and rebooted my phone without resetting or flashing anything. Im so damn happy lol. I still dont understand what happened and why my device was actling like this. But I learned a hard lesson; backup, backup and once again: BACKUP. And dont Factory reset in Android!
Thanks a lot for your help guys! I really apreciate it! :victory::victory:

Probably because you already did all the flashing prior to. Glad it worked. This happened when I first got my V20 and was stoned not thinking. I reset using the in phone option and it caused twrp bootloop. I too learned the hard way.
Had the same issue, fixed it, thanks.

I got into twrp by holding volume down and selecting yes on next 2 white screens....but now this message appears all the time.

Great tip @Swizzle82! It allowed me to restore my LG G6 after bootloop. It had not been detected by PC, and this hardware reset helped!
Hi, all
If I understand, and to sum up :
I rooted my LG-G6 few weeks ago, and intall TWRP. When OTA wants to install official update, the reboot stops in TWRP mod, so ... failed :-/
Is the solution to flash through Uppercut/LGUP with a .kdz file, without risk of brick the phone ?
Thx
