I have T-mobile and run cm nightly with franco kernel. I get most messages but sometimes I don't receive some and it's getting annoying. Also some people don't receive some of my texts. I don't know if the issue is with the phone, rom, or T-mobile. I was running cm rc5 and switched to the nightlies again but it didn't help. Most my friends have iphones so it's possible it's their phone? But they have different carriers. Really hoping there's an easy fix.

Hello, since I installed cyanogenMod 6 or Chromatic 4.5 (based on CM6) if someone calls me, my phone is always busy even if I don't use it.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, I don't know why I am losing calls, it seems random.
Does anyone know something that may help me?
Thanks for your help.
I was running Vanilla Froyo for a few days and it was just brought to my attention that I didn't receive text that some people sent me. I wiped everything and re-flashed it and asked my friends to text me and I only received 6/10 texts. The problem seemed intermittent because sometimes that persons text would go through and sometimes it wouldn't.
I am running DJ05 modem/radio. I would post this on jt's vanilla froyo thread but I get this message. "jepr0x11, you do not have permission to access this page."
I have received FC on mms process when turning my phone on after being off for a while and it is quite likely that I had received texts during that time.
Besides this issue, I really like the DL30. I don't really want to go back to an older ROM. I hope another newer 2.2 ROM leaks or gets released soon.

DJ05 is good for th Vanilla Froyo, but it's recommended that you use the DI09 radio. Seems like no problems there.
Issues are on all radios.. jt knows the issue persists...and will correct in time

There were some early issues with this when DL30 came out, I'd check and make sure you had an updated verison of the ROM, Also Sonofskywalker has his ROM too and mms works just fine.

Thanks. I will attempt to do so.
So i've tried pretty much every ROM out and wanted to post my findings with Call reception, data issues, APNs, etc and see if anyone else on Sprint has workarounds or advice on how to fix issues. On some ROMs i can get data but can't get calls/texts. On others i can get voice and data and hear people fine while on calls, but they tell me i'm breaking up constantly.
ROMs with voice and data, but poor voice delivery while on calls:
Resurrection Remix
AOKP
Turbo ROM
Temasek(i think...been awhile since i've flashed and can't remember)
Roms with data(sometimes) but cant make calls/texts:
PureNexus
DirtyUnicorn
ROMs with working data and good call quality:
AICP
Mokee
TruPureX(yes, i know it's not a custom ROM just putting it here because there are no issues with call reception or data on Sprint)
I believe if we were able to manually set APNs for some of these ROMs we could possibly correct this issue but for some reason the majority of ROMs i've flashed say "APN settings are not available for this user". Does anyone know a workaround for this issue? Please post other ROMs that i haven't commented on or other findings/workarounds
I know this is a long shot since this is an old post, but I was curious if you ever found anything on this? I had gone through a bunch of the ROMs mentioned and had the same experience. The only ROM I have had success with and has been almost flawless is Turbo. Yet I have the calling issue where everyone says I'm choppy and cut out so I am having to switch again. Everything else except TruePure I have had data issues with. LTE seems to drop and then I have nothing, it's almost like it can't hand off to 3g. Then I have no signal at all.
I'd go with the stock ROM, but that just has some horrible lag when operating. If I could pull whatever make Turbo work over to another ROM that would be great, but I've never set anything like that up.
Can it be a problem if you are using a XT1572 or XT1575? Maybe you need to be ROM specific when it comes to your device model.
This is the most annoying problem. At this point most roms I try have everything but 4g.
Im a long time reader first time poster... i first want to thank everyone here for finding the time and patience to help others by sharing your knowledge ideas and expertise, This is by far the best resource for trustworthy information for Android on the Web. I've been able to help my loved ones and myself by using information i found here through the years and so for that I sincerely thank all of you.
Now onto the issue at hand. .
I have a cricket wireless Samsung sgh-i337z 4.4.2 i337ztuuboa3 I first
Soft rooted with kingoroot, but later i was able to full root using towel root.
No issues until about maybe a month ago when messages i was sending sometimes wouldn't go through until 3 or 4 tries. Its getting progressively worse, to where now have trouble sending emails occasionally also. Keeping the messaging cache cleared is the only way I've found to send them, still not until the 2nd or 3rd or 4th try. . Installed a different messaging app, same thing. It's not a weak signal thing, I've deleted all unneeded stored messages, and I'm not sure what to do next. it's starting to make me crazy. I send a text it goes thru, send another then go about my business, wonder why I never got a response till I pick up my phone an hour later and see that damn failed notification again. It's maddening i tell you! Could it be a network problem because I haven't updated past kitkat? Or is there something else I'm not seeing? I wanted to ask before jumping in trying to update to lollipop, as I am still unable to connect and use adb and I'm guessing updating and keeping root probably won't be like a click 1 and done thing on top of it also wiping my phone, seems like fun all around. I'm open to any feedback and appreciate any help/ advice given....
Thanks so much for all you do and I hope you have a great day!
Well mate, I don't think its a problem to do with you not being on Kitkat, but have you considered factory resetting or talking to your carrier?
I had that problem regularly on my i337 running Hyperdrive RLS 19 which was Android KitKat 4.4.2 but created from a ROM that was originally on Verizon's CDMA network. I found that when I was on Wi-Fi, most of the time my MMS would send about 50% of the time and regular texts would send about 90% of the time. When I shut off wi-fi and used AT&T's network exclusively they sent with a much greater reliability, MMS closer to 90% and normal texts around 100%. My guess is that, since Cricket is switching to AT&T's GSM infrastructure from years of being on a CDMA (Verizon) there is some issue in the hand-off from a CDMA rom that doesn't translate right to the GSM network. What that might be, I couldn't say because I just don't have the background or knowledge (and good luck explaining that to a Cricket rep), but I think I'm right as the the cause at least. That being said, if there is a newer ROM that can be flashed on your phone, or even the same one over with the modems, I'd do it to see if it would fix the issue. I finally flashed my i337 to a stock GSM ROM and it resolved the problem.
First things first, I'm using a VS995. I was running weta and everything was running fine, but whenever I use an AOSP based ROM, and I've tried several, I cannot get SMS and MMS to run reliably if at all. I've read through countless posts and tried everything I could think of. I've tried:
-making a call (which works for the call but not texts)
-every network type
-clean flashing (I always do this anyways)
-modifying and resetting the APN
-shaking my phone violently while gritting my teeth
-just about every combination of the above
I'm currently running the latest lineage release, which I flashed today without any mods of any kind. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Well I think I may have found a solution. I flashed desolation then called and texted myself and it worked. After an hour or so it stopped working. Then I changed the network settings to lte CDMA evdo. And texts flooded in. Been working since but I'm still hesitant to trust it. We will see how it goes.
Didn't persist after reboot. And still goes down every so often. Any ideas on how this can be fixed would be very helpful.
Man. Nothing here on this either? Third post with no help on it. Been driving me nuts for months!
I wish I could find more help with this. I have everything working with Resurrection Remix other than sending MMS. Sending and receiving SMS works and I can receive MMS just fine. I have not yet tried to use another messenger though.

Hrmmmm..... I posted a reply but it never posted. I hope it doesn't show up after this. Anyway, I have just about everything working with Resurrection Remix. I just can't send MMS. I can send and receive SMS just fine and I can receive MMS. I haven't tried another messenger yet though.
I'm running alpha rom now. I'm getting phenomenal benchmarks in 3dmark so I'm happy. Just wish I had the flexibility of aosp.
