Hi.
I am looking for a way to reinstall the 4.0.3 stock ROM.
TPT is still stock.
Could you tell me where to find a file, wich is copied to a sd card, named update.zip and flashed inside the recovery?
I found this:
http://download.lenovo.com/slates/think/tablet1/
According to the status page in settings i have a version number mathing the last filename on that page.
But that file is only 4 mb in size, so definitly no ROM.
there is no update zip or stock something to restore the ICS.
Only if you have a backup you or someone else made.
But you must have a CWM installed, and the restore a backup.
I can provide a backup of my ROW ICS tpt, but you still need the CWM.

I am having a heck of a time tryingto flash a new rom onto my nexus s. I have downloaded MoDoCa and CM7 and put both .zip's on my SD card.
When i go to install via clockwork, its verifies the install and fails saying it cant find any of the packages. I left the files as a zip, i also extracted wthem within the same folder.
Im so lost why this wont work. Also the backup's i made before flashing dont wanna flash either. I can only get barebones 2.3. HELP!
Are you using version 3.0.0.0 or higher of Clockwork? That's one of the requirements on Modaco's ROM.
You should leave the Modaco rom as a zip. Put it in the root of your sdcard.
I think what's happening to you is that you're trying to flash it the wrong way.
In Clockwork, don't select the flash update.zip file, what you need to do is choose the menu option to flash a file from the sdcard. This puts you into a selection mode screen where you will navigate through the files and folders in the sdcard to the one you want to flash, then select it and flash away.
Have you tried it that way?
EDIT: P.S - you don't "flash" nandroid backup files, you restore them from the backup/restore menu option in Clockwork. You probably know that, but just making sure, since there shouldn't be an issue restoring them.
Hey I'm currently running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v2.3.3 with ROM Manager Premium installed and when I check for an update it says there is no update for this room but I noted that version 2.4.1 is out.
I have downloaded the ROM and moved it over to my SD card. With that said do I just install the updated version via zip file with ClockworkMod Recovery or do I do a complete fresh upgrade first and then install.
If I do the fresh update will I be upable to reupload my previous settings (widgets, apps, etc) from Rom Manager with the fact I have the premium addition or because it's a different version will this not work?
If not is there a way to do so?
Thanks in advance
is the zip you downloaded an update zip or a rom zip? I don't think you can use a regular rom zip as an update! I might be wrong, but if the zip is named update or it said that it was an update zip when you downloaded it, then you can just flash the update without loosing anything, but if you're not sure and you want to go the safe way I would suggest a clean full flash.
task 29
MGLDR
CWR
Flash
Good luck!
our devices cant use rommanager properly yet.
I'd suggest:
1) Backup everything (tita backupsms backup & restore .... + backup in cwm)
2) Flash new ROM
If you encounter lots of errors and force closes:
1) Wipe everything
2) Flash cwm and rom
3) Restore all updates except the cwm one
Okay thanks for the update. I guess I'll just update this weekend by a full update.
Thanks again

Hello:
I have "MIUI 1.12.16" gingerbread installed on u8800pro, and now I want to go back / restore official gingerbread (stock rom), for installing another custom rom, like cm7, instead of MIUI.
How do I go back to official gingerbread from MIUI? I have the backup file from clockworkmod.. I just restore it and thats it??
Or do I have to place the "dload" folder in sd, with the "UPDATE.APP" and "UPDATE_g.APP" files? Because I tried to do that and I get "no certificate file found on sd"
Thanks
just restore backup. Do all the wipes first then restore.
Hy,
I have two i9505, I read a lot and installed CWM using Heimdall, I flashed SuperSU to gain root, and made a backup. It labeled the backup with an outdated 1970 name...
I took the SD card out to copy the SD backup, but could find it even when searching for hidden folder.
I put back the SD card in my device, and booted to CWM, the backup was available for a restore process. So before trying any flash I tried out a restore process, but ended up with a stuck in boot. Boot to CWM and bootloader being still available, I managed to flash a workable ROM, but I can't restore to my initial ROM.
Now, I'd like to be able to restore my device to it's initial ROM.
I believe that somehow, the backup I made is corrupted.
As I have another identical i9505 I haven't tempered with yet, I guess I could install CWM (or other custom recovery) to make a backup of the ROM, extract the backup of the ROM from the SD and use it to 'clone' my second device ROM to this one.
But I don't wan't to make any mistake here, so I'd apreciate some help, first to understand where CWM put the backup .tar.
Another solution is to get some stock ROM I can flash. As anyway I don't have any warranty on the device I don't care to restore to exact initial state, I just want to be able to get back to some stock ROM.
sammobile.com/firmwares is the place to go if you want a stock ROM. Download whichever ROM you want, then use Heimdall to flash it, and you should then be returned to stock. For best results, the ROM you download should have no carrier branding, but any of them should work.
I though I would have to do something like that from reading the unroot guide. Also, as I use Heimdall to flash (I have a linuxBox), I will use this guide in french as a guideline.
I noticed that the command line they recommend don't flash sbl1. I don't know if it is required.
Thank you anyway for confirming that.
Hi. I'm using the 18/Redmi2Prime and I was thinking of reverting back to MIUI and I'm on CM13. I'm kind of confused with all the threads here because it's been a while since I was active here in the forums. Can't I just flash the MIUI ROM over CM13 using TWRP 2.8.7 with a clean install?
I wanted a rooted lollipop miui hence I am reluctant of choosing this. And I donno which ROM to choose either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Grab a copy of the stock recovery from here, and follow the instructions to install it onto your device. Basically, download the file, extract the .img file from it, and install the .img file using TWRP. Then boot to recovery.
Then, download a copy of the official MIUI ROM (beta, release or otherwise), from here, rename it as update.zip, copy paste it to your SD card (internal/external), and from the stock recovery, wipe all existing data (cache and user data - SD card can stay). Install the update.zip from the recovery from the options shown.
Done.
Additional notes -
1. If you are plan to go back to a custom ROM, then install a pre-lollipop based MIUI ROM, or backup your EFS, Modem, Boot partitions prior to wiping the existing recovery - this will save you a lot of trouble, and perhaps opening another thread.
2. It is preferable to download the MIUI ROM and rename it as update.zip before you restore to stock recovery, should anything go wrong down the lane. (That is, without a ROM installed, and the computer just not willing to recognize your device, you might end up in a small soup - you cannot access the files on the phone using the stock recovery easily.)
3. If anything goes wrong, check for instructions on how to install the MIUI ROM using fastboot.
Hey thanks for the quick reply. Will do the mentioned and will get back to you if need be. Thanks again!
But wait. It isn't prerooted right?
