I know that Dibblebill has tried Paranoid Android. He and everyone else who has done testing has found PA to be really slow. Both in FPS for games and I found it to have much more input lag than other ROMs.

I've heard this too (but haven't tested PA myself). If anything, I'd consider PA good on looks, not so good on performance (but not terrible either). I personally would rather have something that performs great, with customization as a second priority. Rasbeanjelly works great in this regard Take the performance even further, and then you have RasSaber (updated at a slower pace compared to rbj though). The Black/Blue theme going on looks pretty nice as well (to me anyway).

Slim ics is what I'm running.
Also will go back to cm9 soon..
Those two are very clean and stable.. Which is all i need.
I don't need special themes, and i understand that overclocking is dangerous, so i don't..
But, everybody has a preference..
Good luck with your hunt

See a pattern here? :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
I have used Passion, Euphoria, CM9, RMS, Doc Master's, Slim and a few others. Keep coming back to Slim 3.6 (which is the last version that my GPS works with the stock Slim kernel). Slim is fast and gives sufficient customization and very stable and fast.

CHIMERA, of course!

A big donor to passion ROM development, I have moved to this ROM as well. It is much faster and more responsive. I have not experienced any unknown issues.
I also tried to use SLIM, installed version 3.8 current version, got FC on making or receiving every phone call, clean flashed it three times. Come on, this is very basic requirement for a ROM.

This was fixed within about 30 minutes from the release of the ROM. Simple download and install of a single file (and documented in the flash instructions).
That said, Slim 3.8 was very slow for me, but things are right back to their snappy selves in 3.9.
Aokp project is a very nice customizable pics rom

Running stock at the moment, had no problems' very snappy.
I like Paranoid Android but almost all are very similar and the devs have done a great job on all the ROMs.

Used codename android and then it became slightly buggy. Running XenonHD and it's smooth and stable. Loving it right now.
Will have to see when 4.2 ROMs get uploaded but so far Xenon finally removed the blue grids around home screens while moving. Left over from tablet UI and I just hate it and CNA still has it.. Don't want to use alternative launchers either.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I feel they are all about the same. PA really is in a league of it's own if you want to utilize their features.
I jump around every few months/weeks. Basically waiting for 4.2 to drop at this point.
AOKP when I feel like tweaks
For performance, eos or rasbean ever since I've learnt to tweaks and theme things myself, I have been not needing the tweaks of ROMs like AOKP
Resbean for now, zip aligned, odexed, tweaked up and super fast

I wanna try RasBean, any bugs so far?
You should change the question as "best rom/kernel combination" since rom's pretty much depend on the kernels to perform well.. Franco R25 is the best so far for my taste and Glazed rom is the pair..

If you use Goo Manager, you can download PACman rom. So now that PACman rom is available for the sweet, beautiful, precious Nexus 4 will they add the Halo feature from Paranoid Android to it as well? Because I'm currently running PA and I'd like to try this but Ive realised I can't live without the Halo and Colour customisation.

Most hybrid rom ?

Hi there, I'd like to know which rom is reuniting most of every rom functionalities, Like pac-man but larger.
It could be not a hybrid rom, but only having the most functionalities of each while being stable.
Thanks for answering.

Tip for Carbon, check the last page (or past couple ones) for a mirror. Goo is pretty slow nowadays during the morning/afternoons. Only time its not slow is when its like 3 AM

Best rom and kernel?

What is your opinion of the best rom and kernel available for the nexus 10? Looking for something that will make battery life better (not saying its bad, because I just got one), while still keeping it smooth and snappy. Prefer a rom with usb otg as well.

I'm a Purity ROM / Trinity Ten Kernel convert for its speed and stability. I think it has all you requested. See my signature for links. Right now that combo is v4.3 but I expect a v4.4 in the future.
Here is a link to additional tweaks I like to make to that configuration:
