[Q] Need PIT file for Galaxy S4 I9505 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone
I've bricked my S4 stupidly by trying to install CF Auto Root without having USB Debugging enabled.
No my phone starts up telling me there was an incomplete upgrade and to continue it but kies can't seem to find anything.
I've tried reflashing the stock firmware but I keep receiving a error saying it can't find the PIT file for mapping.
Does anyone have one for the S4 I9505 INTL (UK) Variant.
Thanks

I've just downloaded your pit file. The problem here is I can't get back into my phone and I can only go into download mode. Initially I set USB Debugging as off and tried flashing. So now I'm stuck with a bricked phone.

NO need to enable usb debugging to flash with odin, just put pit file and the firmware in odin and flash

remove pit file from folder and put it on desktop and the firmware and odin
use odin 3.07 or 1.85
change usb port and use original cable
if you can go in recovery (i doubt)make a wipe)
retry

glad to hear that, but usually it is flashed with the firmware if you would try again you will succeed......any way you make it :good:

Same happened with me, no matter how many times I tried flashing the PIT with the firmware, it just wouldn't have it at all.
When I flashed the PIT on it's own, it flashed fine, said reset, then booted back into android.
Glad you got it sorted though! It's scary when you see FAIL in big letters when flashing stuff! haha.

reflash with i9505-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.2-4
wipe all
reflash with pit CSB_signed_Fusion3_EUR_0325_V2 and pda I9505XXUAME2_I9505OLBAMDM_I9505DXUAME2_HOME.tar

Just a word from me guys.
Please don't underestimate power of changing USB port and/or USB cable. I've just been sitting on soft-bricked s4, nothing seemed to work, ODIN 3.x or 1.8, original firmware or third party ROM/recovery etc, PIT file, nothing could be overwritten. I restarted PC and instal/reinstall drivers.. nothing.
I've changed the cable and USB port to the rear one et voila, all worked as a charm.
good luck.

No its not at a hard brick dont worry dont panic thats the best wat to work around
I would say dont use pit file unless its last option and try without that only may be in other pc using other cable some below steps myte also help u
2) Install later Kies.
3) Kill al kies applications (all 4 of them).
disable antivirus or whatever you got there.) Get to Download Mode and push Vol Up.
7) Open Odin.
8) Plug the device to your laptop.
Does it see the device?
If NO:
A) Get another usb cable, are you using ?
B) Try different Odin Versions (download 3 or 4).
C) Try another USB port.
D) Still no luck? reboot the pc and start from step 3.
---------- Post added at 08:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:23 PM ----------
Download 2/3 stock firmware and try installing thru ODIN it should work
Make sure u have all the drivers installed

Official firmware is not a wiping one. It doesnt flash userdata, it replace system, recovery, and some other partitions.

Great to hear that man
If u flash stock firmware all will remain as its in ODIN but its good if u reset the device after or b4 root
Also take a EFS backup of ur device and be safe
i had root before the device bricks... so i rootet it now again, and works good...
yeah, i will backup efs (hope this <- works...)
yah, thank you again...
have a nice day..

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.

So my gs4 seems to be soft bricked. I was trying to reroot my phone and it failed in the middle of rooting and now when I try to turn it on, it goes to a screen saying firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. What do I do? Do I just flash stock firmware onto the phone with odin?

ahhhh seems your rooting has made a few problems you don't have a pit partition so odin can't do anything about it
you can try kies don't know if it will help seems you will have to service it i guess

pit file usually comes with the stock Rom you get 3 files from the zip right ?
but i wouldn't want to try that and i would defently read a thread about pit before doing anything
BTW what's your device model ?
the only thing i can think of is you used a wrong rooting methood for it

Mh, is this normal for ODIN, having a single PDA file given?
@ SAMGS4: What exactly did you do? For me it looks like you put the same file in all file selection lines.
Do you still have access to phone's UI and can check the complete device properties?
I know this is the wrong device forum but if a mod moves this topic to the proper location, the replies got moved also.
someone please help

thanks and ive just reported the post to be moved, and also i have no access to the phone, i can get it on the download mode and when it says about firmware upgrade kies update etc
Well ... there might be another reason why you can't flash the wanted file - the DL is corrupt. But ODIN checked the md5 hash and the file passed the test.
Did you try to flash another, earlier leaked, ROM for your phone?
Does the ROM match to your country / provider code? Maybe the ROM you try to flash doesn't match exactly to the phone you have; there are various SGS4 models.
someone please help

I'd give it a try. Update the drivers before you attempt it. I'm on three as well and have flashed the same firmware without problems. Have you tried flashing a recovery and wiping the phone. Internal SD etc? Wouldn't do it any harm

hi could you please give me a link to stock rom for three please as cant find one and what recovery would i flash?? thanks?
Mh, can you get into Recovery mode? If not, flash an alternate Recovery mod first. Try PhilZ Touch Recovery. It's being flashed within DL mode, fill only PDA field.
Ah, I didn't notice yet ... you use ODIN 3.04. That's an outdated version; maybe 3.04 can't handle an I9505.
Most current version is 3.07, get it here. In this post it's said ODIN 1.85 can already deal with an I9595; try this too.
Does ODIN run with Admin rights? Maybe there's a problem with your Windows UAC.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281367
That's the link for philz recovery. Download the latest .tar and flash in O.
Boot into recovery and wipe everything including the internal SD. Make sure you back up.
By the looks of it you are flashing the latest three firmware. MEA H3G.
I'd download the firmware again. You can get it from Sammobile.com. you'll need to register an account. Think its labelled as Hutchisons 3G
someone please help
i just tryed to flash PhilZ Touch Recovery and it failed, also ive tried all the odins and the one that seems to get me the furthest is the 3.04
someone please help
anymore ideas?? pls:crying:
Have you tried another PC, one with Win 7 or 8 on it?It doesn't look like a partition problem, it seems to get further through each time but keeps failing. Might be a problem with your PC...
Oh, and I use ODIN 3.04 to flash too...

Only will boot into downloading mode

I've got a sprint galaxy s4, was running 4.2.2 and I had added the hotspot mod by overwriting some files to make that happen. I was attempting to go back to stock in order to update to 4.3 via an Odin3 flash and something happened. I can only boot into the download mode, I can't get into recovery mode at all. If I try to get into recovery, I get the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Kies will not recognize my phone. When I plug it into my computer via usb, I hear a notification. Kies attempts to connect, but never does successfully. I have no way of getting my serial number as I can't boot it and it's not listed under the battery cover. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers with no success. I have tried to uninstall Kies completely and flash via Odin3 but get a failure below

I hope I've provided info on what I have tried. I am not an expert by any means, but would really appreciate any help. At this point I'm looking to just get back to stock and have a usable phone. I don't care about losing any info and am willing to wipe/flash whatever I can. Thank you for any input! I'm hoping to not have to take this to the sprint store
You just have to odin the stock mf9 tar again. I would try a different version of odin, a different usb port, or a different usb cable. Odin will fix your problem, don't use kies. I used odin 3 version 3.07 but I've also had a lot of success with odin 3 ver 1.85 that is included when you download cf autoroot. Also, make sure you are running odin as administrator.

Thanks for your reply. I am trying to flash the stock .tar but I'm not having any success. I get the error messages I listed above. Any clue what those mean or what I could be doing wrong? That looks like greek to me. I really don't know what any of it means.
i would just use the CF-autoroot odin......this has saved my ass twice !!! seems to be the " mirical odin " program

wow. Finally figured it out. I tried 3 different USB ports, none of those worked. Tried a 4th on the back of my PC and viola, finally got Odin to work. THanks for your help!

[GUIDE] FIX: There is no PIT Partition

This is a guide for those who are experiencing the problem 'There is no Pit Partition' while flashing with Odin. This problem may be caused because of a faulty USB/micro USB port, USB cable which results in connection problems during flashing. So first of all one should understand this process is Extremely Risky and should proceed only if its that much necessary.
For this process what you need is a PIT file for Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 and the original STOCK firmware. PIT (Partition Information Table) files provide information about where each partitions are to be flashed, so an improper PIT file will brick your phone permanently.
PIT file for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is provided in the attachment, and extract the .pit from the rar.
Follow these steps :
1. Run Odin with Administrator Privileges. Hope everyone is familiar with using Odin or See this
2.Connect your Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 inn Download Mode (HOLD Volume Down+Home Button+Power) and see phone gets detected by Odin.
3. Click on the PIT Button in Odin and select the .pit file you have downloaded.
4. Click on PDA, and Browse for the original Stock Firmware File of Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082.
5. Ensure that The Checkboxes Auto Reboot, Re-Partition, F. Reset Time are checked.
See This:

}
6. Now Click Start
7. Wait for the process to complete, keep the phone untouched until you see PASS.
8. Switch ON the phone and Play!!
As this process is completely risky, DO THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DO IT IN YOUR OWN RISK!
Good Luck!!:good::good:
Press THANKS if I helped!

No Brother, its from B3 update JB 4.1.2
Hello,
I have a galaxy grand 2 sm-g7102 and a big problem.
What I need is just. Pit file for 7102nd When I did the update to a newer version of the process is broken.
Bootloader works, but Odin returns: There is no PIT partition.
I took several official version ROMs with sammobile.com, but when they unpacked find no pit file.
Please any help or ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance
Hope you can google n find out the .pit file for your galaxy grand 2. Do not go to download the full firmware.. Just search for the pit for your phone..
I could have provided that for you... But this is a new phone and i just dont have any idea, i mean NO idea about this phone and how the partitions are distributed.
If you cant find the pit file.. And you never tried to flash a custom rom, carry it to service centre.
Beware that you dont use pit file of any other device wid the device you have.
Good luck

Its not necessary to use the PIT file, even if you use it, it wont affect, but i guess u never seen an error like NO PIT PARTITION, use .pit only if this shoes up. now the problem may be with USB cable, the micro USB port or USB port of your system. Try flashing from another system.

Actually that was the reason why I'm using a PIT file right now, because I'm encountering the "There is no partition" something like that, and that's how I end up with this article after searching it. So yeah. Is this still repairable? I've already tried different firmwares for GT-I9082 (4.1.2 and 4.2.2) but still it won't work.

So yeah. Is this still repairable? I've already tried different firmwares for GT-I9082 (4.1.2 and 4.2.2) but still it won't work.

I feel its still repairable, i don't think its a brick. Okay if you ended up with the error THERE IS NO PIT PARTITION. That happened only because the flashing process got interrupted while flashing the PIT, the very first time. The interruption might have caused because of USB cable, the micro USB port of the phone (Highly Vulnerable) or the USB port of your PC. Have you ever experienced any problems while transferring data via USB??i had problem with my micro USB port of the phone, I ended up in the PIT issue. What I did was to keep the phone untouched and flashed the phone many times again and again.
Always you end up at the same point or sometimes in the middle of flashing?

It's always at the same point. Here's the log when I'm not using PIT (this is also the same thing that happened as before):
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> I9082XXAMC7_I9082OJVAMC1_I9082XXAMC4_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/003>
<ID:0/003> There is no PIT partition.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I never had any problems on my USB port when transferring files. I always use the one that is directly connected at my motherboard (not using hubs for these kind of purposes).

Use Odin v3.07 itself.. There is chance that the NAND might be corrupted/damaged. I guess when you turn on your phone you get a warning like "Firmware Upgrade encountered an error, Please update using Kies" something like dat. If u hav a very high speed internet connection, see whether that method works.
Can you elaborate a bit about how these problems evolved. What happened the very first time when you attempted to flash, that particular attempt it went messy.

Sorry for the late reply. I can't post a comment a while ago because it says on Captcha that my pc is sending automated queries. The first time I flashed my GT-I9082, it was actually quite successful. Quite because it says pass on Odin but it was stuck on a flashing "Samsung Galaxy Grand GT-I9082) and the guide I followed said that I should go into recovery mode but unfortunately I can't so I've read on another site that you can also just re-flash the firmware and so I did and that's how I got the "there is no partition".

It is evident that the flashing was not complete since you cant go to recovery and thus made the Pit error. There is a chance your NAND may be bricked. No need to panic, just try flashing.. If luck favours!!
