Hello, I've got a problem with my defy:
If I try to flash any ROM other than SFB froyo or CM10 based ROMs, It gets stucked at boot loop.
I've tryed every ROM I could and the result is allways the same.
I've read somewhere that it could be a broken partition, or something like that, but I have no idea.
I opened this thread to get some help from the pr0s and to see if there's another in the same situation.
Thanks al lot!

Hi there.
Today my HTC TyTN decided to hardware-reset itself twice, which I thought was a bit weird, but not the biggest problem since I have most of the same stuff on my other phone.
But just now, it seems like it did it again, only now it doesn't boot. It seems like it freezes while booting.
I've tried taking the battery out and in again, booting while connected to USB, and booting without the SIM card inserted, but nothing fixed it.
Does any of you guys have ideas that might solve my problem ?
Might it be possible to flash it with a new ROM without being connected with ActiveSync ?
Do a search for bad blocks, look in the upgrading thread, guaranteed that theres something there or do a search for "how to fix bad blocks hermes", that should get you some things to read.
If it is bad blocks reflashing a new rom WON'T help.
If you don't have bad blocks, you may have installed a BS ROM recently, then the best advice is to flash a Stock rom first, make sure the radio rom has been stripped out or you'll end up having to reflash that too. Then reflash the BS rom of your choice.
Cheers...
Ok, so here is my issue.
I was trying to download a new ROM to install in my device after installing to the new unofficial T-MoUS ROM. I tried the ROM out and didn't like it so I went back to the stock ROM and from there flashed HSPL but kept having issues with my device not being recognized by the USB connection. Finally got it done and went to flash a new radio.
Found a Radio, but I think I forgot to install it cause I was distracted, and went to install a ROM (Omega I think) and it said installed and after that wouldn't boot up.
Here is where I am stuck at. I can enter the bootloader, and it will restore but then it gets stuck on the Stay Together screen or whatever it says but won't go any further. I did a little searching and found some info on doing a Task 29, but am clueless about whether this works since it seems it is something done before a phone is bricked.
Anyway, any experienced members have any ideas or should I just go ahead and call T-Mobile and invoke my warranty? I'm stubborn and tenacious so I want to try to fix this on my own.

I don't call this bricked, since it actually will load to the bootloader and is thus flashable. I have been stuck on the "Stick Together" screen before and was able to fix it by flashing a ROM I knew was working via microSD.

Could you report back if you were sucessful in fixing your phone. I seem to have the same problem
I don't know if this has happened to anyone, as I haven't seen the problem I have anywhere else, but something strange started happening from yesterday(using Energy 2 ROM btw):
When I run Haret, That's it! It gets stuck when it attempts to load the kernel. I've messed around with the startup.txt and used a new data.img, with no results. And, everyone else in the threads of the ROMs I was trying said they worked perfectly... A little help would be appriciated!
yeah, I've been having the same problem too! Im also using the energy 2 rom and I've been trying different android builds. The only build that I've had work half way decent was the desire rom but once I power off the phone and try to get back into the desire rom it just gets stuck at the boot up screen. Im new at the whole flashing roms and modifying files thing so any advice at all would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,
i had some issues with flashing my Defy..
i started with Pays-Rom, wich was working quite wel for some time and but got a little slow and i wanted to upgrade to CM7.
then it al went wrong, i don't know what i did, but i didn't get anything but black screen and white led.
so i tried the JORDN_U3_97.21.51. and it worked
from there i couldn't flash anything... and i tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14762402&postcount=143
this worked.. and i even got CM7 to run, and MUI aswell
but... lots of force closes and it didn't run so stable..
then i installed like 3 programs, and i got a memory full warning.
then i noticed i only had 128mb internal memory.
and every other SBF i tried to flash i just get a black screen and that white led again..
so does anyone know which SBF would work? or what i can do??
i olso read this thread.. to i know i'm not the only one..

Anyone with a valid download link for JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf???
Hey guys, I've got a Defy plus (MB526) which had CGM 9 on it.
One day i woke up to find it boot looping, for no reason at all...
Now, i've tried flashing it with countless different roms. first just bricking it up, so the screen stopped lighting up at all...
Then i found out it had a CG version 7 so i can't use anything lower.
now i've tried flashing like 5-6 different roms i found that shoul suit, but the best result i got is going back to boot looping, so the screen lights up, but is stuck on the Motorola logo...
The phone was bought refurbished, so idk what was its' original operator. I've tried pretty much every one tho...
I'm using RSDlite 5.6 to flash it.
Any thoughts?
try the custom sbf for Defy, there are one with CM10 inside.
