YouTube S-Off
How to S-Off HTC One without a PC.
As you can see from the video I am running ViperRom with stock kernel, from what I understand some kernels will cause S-Off to fail. Must be rooted to use this method. Also this will break Hot reboot, but doing an RUU will fix this but also wipe all your data.
Download Revone here http://revolutionary.io/revone OP is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
Once its downloaded move to data/local/tmp
Then open terminal
Type the following
su (enter)
cd /data/local/tmp (enter)
chmod 755 revone.bin (enter) (some users may have to remove the .bin if thats you remove it from all of the lines)
./revone.bin -P (enter) (Capital P is needed)
Reboot
open terminal
cd /data/local/tmp (enter)
su (enter)
./revone.bin -s 0 -u
Reboot.
To remove "tampered"
open terminal
cd /data/local/tmp
su
./revone.bin -t

Main advantage is you can have super cid which means you can flash any ruu and get 1st updates, for example my hox is 3 branded and I got jb update 2 months later then unbranded devices if I had s-off I could have updated asap it got released, another thing is SIM unlocking.
Aside from that there's not many other advantages, of course you can run custom bootloader, write to any partition, this more of a advanced user stuff then regular flasher stuff.

I always use custom ROMs that usually update quickly I might soff just to remove tampered in case I need to send to HTC or EE for repair thanks

Hmm, adding the .bin to chmod 755 revone or to /revone doesn't seem to work for me. I have to remove that to make it work and thats how I got S-Off. Weird. Maybe its because I have a developer edition or I'm on dricktroid 7. Anyway, a really good guide. Thanks.

You missed my point mate , yes you can flash small firmware updates but for example when the android 4.3 or android 5 arives it'll most likely have Hboot ( bootloader ) update , and if you're locked onto some network with their cid = you wont recieve update for sure at least 1month if not more vs the others who will have it the same day it got released.
That would be one of the main adventages. Tho if you're patient guy/girl and can wait for career ( if you're even on the career ) then this is no issue for you
Another good thing would be adding cid for stock android edition from the HTC google edition = have pure stock + receive updates from google itself.
Of course this maters only if you like AOSP at all
Either way S-OFF is great thing to have. At least for me.
Aside from all this you can also unlock your bootloader without even using HTC Dev , you can S-OFF without root / unlocked bootloader via HTC.dev and unlock / relock / lock bootloader along with removing all the traces of your phone ever being flashed = warrenty wasn't voided This was huge issue on HTC One X , many warrenties were denied just cuz of bootloader was unlocked even tho that software had nothing to do with for example *wifi bug* that we had. This way HTC cannot decline your warrenty even if you did up something which is the joy of this
Think of it as .. hmm well you can pretty much do whatever you want to your device and in case you mess things up you can always go back for warrenty , tho if you brick your phone there still shouldn't be a way for them to tell were you messing with the software since the phone is dead
When I type the second command it says invalid option -p
Revone successful
Edit:- nm. It was just the capital P causing the problem. M s off now

Your English is fine. Nothing gets wiped you will just have s-off after. However this breaks hot reboot and I guess to get it back you have to run the RUU which will wipe your phone. I dont use hot reboot myself so I just left things as is.

Please get your information correct. Both the HTC Wildfire and HTC Wildfire S are listed.
I confirm that HTC Buzz is in list but i don't understand about the RUU before the first step...
Where i can find a RUU for the wildfire?
My Wildfire hasn't branded and they say:
BEFORE beginning the Unlock Bootloader process your product requires that you update the ROM to the version listed in the table below first, then download the RUU next to it to enable the unlocking capability.

You failed to read the faqs and guides .
You must pay the vendor to unlock your 4.3
Just follow the old tutorial foe manually unlocking with a hex editor, then instead of getting the md5 from the log, do (cat nv_data.bin; echo -n Samsung_Android_RIL) | md5sum
Or unlock with Voodoo, then fix up the md5 with this command.

I upgraded to a S5 and want to give my girlfriend my old S3. Problem is it's locked into Vodafone, and she already cut her sim and cannot use her old phone(will get an adapter if I can't solve it today). I would like to unlock the i9300 today, and free if possible. I've searched all over but cannot find even a manual hack like .NetRolller 3D said above. I did find a ton of "100% successful" apps that hide their links behind surveys and crap like that, and I'm not falling into it.
So... how do I unlock her phone at home?
P.S. It currently has RessurectionRemix 6.0 on it, but I can downgrade to stock 4.x.x if needed.
Thanks in advance!
Please re upload the Unlock App

yes there is a very easy way to do that you dont need to unlock your device for that. go to this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015467 , download the nexus 10 toolkit and install the drivers , enable debugging on your device, then select root unroot options , from there choose root + install busy box , then select superSU. and you are good to go , root without unlocking or any custom recovery.

Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003938. It works for 100%. I did it already twice (once on 4.2.1 and then again on 4.2.2). Nexus is rooted, but lock is still there. Run *.bat file without unlocking - it works.
I dont want to doubt what you are writing but the OP from the topic says:
Note: If you are using a retail device, you may need to unlock the bootloader first, using './fastboot-windows oem unlock' (or the appropriate version for your machine, included in this zip). Note that the OEM unlock sequence wipes your device, so consider doing an 'adb backup' beforehand if required!

No, through Amazon from US. So in my opinion you always can try. In worse case if it requires unlock it doesn't root your Nexus.

After root, lock your Nexus by NRT.
this method worked for me
however it was a pain to get drivers working, i had to get universal naked drivers
one question, will future otas work?
Should work as long as you don't change system files (OTA checks hash codes of them).
I also used universal naked drivers.

Hi The War Horse & Theshawty,
I have been following your adventures regarding S-Off closely. I have tried everything to get S-Off on 1.54 hboot myself (War Horse our minds work the same way – tried everything you did myself haha). I have also been trying to downgrade the hboot. In regards to your plan to brick the hboot please be careful. I successfully bricked my hboot by entering RUU mode and flashing a firmware.zip with 1.54 hboot (cid and mid matched my phone). I timed it perfectly by holding the power button 1.5 seconds before I ran the “fastboot flash zip firmware.zip” command. The phone reset at exactly the point hboot was writing. The trick was to flash a firmware.zip that includes 1.54 hboot (must be for your phone cid and mid). Anyway, the downside of this is that because the phone was reset while the hboot was writing the phone obviously won’t boot and is stuck in QHSUSB_DLOAD MODE. Anyway if you know how to use QPST maybe you can flash 1.44 hboot that way. I don’t have QPST so my phone is now bricked. No matter, I tried everything else so it was worth a shot.

Guys I think you can upgrade using the new DE RUU. You will have to use Windows for this. It will not work with fastboot. There is a way to bypass the cid and mid checks for an RUU. Also since the new RUU has a newer hboot the hboot check won’t fail. To do this you need:
-ARUWizard.exe (get this and the accompanying version of adb and fastboot plus all required config files/dlls etc. from your Windows temp directory when you run the ruu.exe – copy them all to the same directory)
-ROM.ZIP from the 4.3 DE RUU
In the ARUWizard.exe directory update android-info.txt to include your cidnum and modelid num. Then run ARUWizard.exe. The reason this will work is when ARUWizard.exe runs the cid and model id check are performed using android-info.txt and not by reading the phone. These steps should pass now.
If you upgrade this way OTA’s won’t work because your cid and mid won’t match the OTA.

Wow, you made it this far, well done I'll do some research later when I've got time but i did a quick search and found qpst downloads and this: https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=...fNv-IBW_jT3_l4dJWrOMcg&bvm=bv.53537100,d.aGc if that doesn't help just ignore me for the moment, I'll be back later with information

I found QPST but don't have any of the hex, xml, drivers, images etc needed to flash the phone but I know I am in QHSUSB_DLOAD MODE because the phone is lifeless (no charging LED or anything). When I plug it into a MAC or PC I can see it listed as a USB device in device manager with the name QHSUSB_DLOAD MODE.

im sure you'll be able to find something after googling around.
As any of you who have the m7 know, I created the ruu to convert a sense m7 to a gpe edition complete with ota's. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781
We would like to get all the partitions dumped so that we can use the images to fully convert our normal M8's into full fledged Google Edition Ones.
Before you do ANYTHING with it (before you root, before you flash a recovery etc...) Follow these directions courtesy of cschmitt Found Here This will ensure we get all the partitions
I have pasted the steps below. This will help the community out greatly!
script that uses adb to dump and pull every partition from a One, excluding cache (meaningless) and userdata (to large).
He would need adb and fastboot on his computer, no need for S-off, since we are only reading partitions.
Generally the process would be:
Download a recovery from here: DO NOT FLASH! just download it for now..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698134
Enable USB Developer options and USB debugging on phone.
Connect phone to usb, install drivers from zip folder if prompted.
Copy SuperSU-v1.41.zip to sd card. (outdated just download the latest from here: http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip)
Reboot into bootloader. (Power off, hold power on an vol-down.)
Open command prompt into \htconedump folder.
Unlock bootloader, fastboot oem unlock should do it.
Reboot back into bootloader (via hboot menu.)
From command prompt:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.3-m8_ul_ca.img (Take note we are not flashing recovery, just booting into it so we can root. If you flash the recovery we will not be able to get the stock GE recovery pulled)
Once TWRP boots,
do a backup of system, boot and recovery (make sure recovery is ticked as it's usually not) untick data (we don't need it for this)
Now lets see if we have root access in recovery.... While still in recovery open up a command prompt on your computer and type "adb shell" without the quotes.. then if it detects the device type "su" your prompt should change from a $ to a #
if that doesn't work then just contact me and we will figure it out if all fails we can just flash super su and then pull the partitions that way and I can just unroot the system partition before I do the conversion
flash SuperSU-v1.41.zip via TWRP to root device.
If you did get root access at the shell now run this:
Run pullmmc01-37.cmd command script from a windows command prompt.
Zip up the dump directory containing all of the mmcblk0p??.bin files.
I've packaged everything up into a zip file containing ADB, fastboot, HTC drivers, superuser.zip, TWRP image, and the pullmmc01-37.cmd command script.
LINK to download DUMP script. This will dump every partition except userdata and cache (paritions mmcblk0p01-mmcblk0p45, 46 and 47 are cache and userdata)

Also make sure to take note of your CID in the bootloader and also report that in this thread. You can get this by running fastboot getvar all while in the bootloader. The MID and the CID will be listed. Please make note of both.
I would advise anyone doing it that they do it without fully setting up the phone because once you unlock the bootloader it will wipe your data. So boot into android and just skip through the whole set up process because you'll just have to do it again after you unlock the bootloader
Ha! I sat in irc with you and tested some zips for the m7. Glad to see you're wanting to do the same thing as I was about to buy an AT&T and was looking for the conversion thread.

Definitely praying this will be a thing! Love you for the conversion on the m7 :good:

haha It will be.. once we can pull the partitions from the device and get s-off (which I hear is not too far off.. don't ask for sources )
One more question?
If buy the google play edition, can i convert it to developer edition and put sense? I know why would anyone want to do that. But just want to try Sense 6. Also, in terms radios google play edition is the best since it has all the radios. Other models have some or the other radio missing.

Yup, you'll be able to go back and forth as long as there is an RUU available. My M7 has been converted to GPE and counverted back countless times!

Awesome, Ordered it now. I would rather have a model with all radios than the carrier crippled ones. Hopefully they ship this baby fast, currently it says April 15th but hopefully we dont have to wait that long.

Still don't see how true that is when the M7 could get LTE on both AT&T and T-Mobile.
Have to wait and see.
Still can, it's the hsdpa T-Mobile it's not compatible with, only aws on lte for AT&T and dev, no aws hsdpa

So....did some reading AND....
If you live in a refarmed 2G area for T-Mobile, than you'll get 4g (aka H+) and be a-okay. T-Mobile LTE will be fine also...given you already live in a lte market.

That's what I figured but I will post my findings when I get the device. I get LTE on most devices I use except Verizon at the moment.

Sorry could've worded that better, The AT&T m8 only supports aws on lte, not on hsdpa. I believe the dev edition is the same. T-Mobile and gpe use both.
