Hopefully I'm posting this in the right area.
I know it's early but I'm hoping that someone is looking into porting a PACman ROM for the Xperia Tablet Z. I've seen online that the Xperia Z phone with the same processor got a PACman port, so hopefully its not to difficult to get it ported to this tablet. Already there's CM, AOKP, and probably AOSPA soon, I just hope it has the popularity to attract devs.
Poll to see who else is interested.

Yup I want it too. I want stock and a more up-to-date version of android, but I don't want to lose the Tablet UI if I went for CM10.1.
I am sure as the tablet ages a bit more there will be ParanoidAndroid, PACMan and others.
What is special in this rom?

Everything! PAC is Paranoid Android, AOKP, and Cyanogenmod. All the cool features of the three Roms.

Android Tutorial: How to Install Android 2.3 Gingerbread on HTC Desire HD, HTC EVO 4G, HTC Wildfire, and Droid Eris
anything for Desire Z in the works?
i'm very interested in this
guys, I have said this many times but cyan won't release 2.3 until the hardware is flawless. But he said we can build it ourselves!!!
Just use cyan vision vendor files to build STOCK aosp gingerbread. I can't coz I don't have a desire z.
Cyanogen is an open source guy, we have access to what he has access to.
Look we know we all really want 2.3, none more than me
Team Villain and CM are both working on builds and probably others but at the moment there is simply too many bugs and things just not working for a release to be out.
Team Villain have always had the policy to only release things that work, and CM is the same, no respecting dev wants to release a buggy build, even if everyone knows it will be buggy.
We will just have to wait.

The reason I posted this is not to get "we all want" and "we need to wait" responses.
I posted because this seem to work to some extent on HD so someone skilled could port to Z. Then some brave users could try and we would know what works what doesn't. And when Cyanogen works on it we could already have fixes to be given to him for it to work on Z. Saving time, getting it done quicker. Contribute, not wait.

Thats nice that you have these thoughts, but to be honest... we don't need to "port" it to the Z since all the files to build it are readily available. And bombarding cyan with our "fixes" will only make it harder for them as they are 3 steps ahead of us already. They have GB on their test devices and are working on fixing the issues. Just follow them on twitter and see their progress. And if you want GB as soon as possible, check the teamdouche buildbot for the Z
Ok then, I will keep killing time with daily BF BC2 sessions ;-)

The dev (AdamG) of THE BEST AOSP Rom (Oxygen) for the HTC Desire is getting an SGS2!
Expect a fast, clean, simple, feature rich and bug-free ROM for the SGS2!

Nice. Seems like alot of devs moving towards the SG2 in favor of the sensation and atrix(lol)

Yeah, was quite happy to read that! Since he just got a Nexus I didn't think he would be developing for the SGS2. Let's just hope CM get AOSP working (properly) soon...
The Sensation new screen shape is horrible, remembers me of 5800!
At least the SGS2 is a real evolution in all levels (just needed better plastic) and its rooted.
The promises of CM7 and MIUI have pushed many ex-HTC devs to try the SGS2
Where are you Paul Obrien??
Whoop whoop, loved Adam's work on the Desire, can't wait for his development on the SG2....

Nice! I love Oxygen on my Desire and looking forward installing it on SGS2

Sweet.

It shouldnt be too hard to port Oxygen to SGS2, Im suprised there have been no other AOSP ROMs made when its been out for 2 months now.
Love Oxygen for my Desire, and can't wait to see it on my SGS2!
So happy to see so much development going on for the SGS2, looks like Samsung really have it together and understand how to please everyone. I'm sure this phone will be their best selling so far and rightfully so!
I'm not manufacturer loyal and the SGS2 is my first Samsung, but I can't really think of any reason so far why my next phone wouldn't be another Samsung.

Hey, good to see you here. Atinm and Codeworkx are the guys who are working hard to get AOSP working at the moment, but they're struggling with some issues. There are several threads here where they give progression updates every now and then. I know things haven't always been good between you and CM developers on the Desire, but I believe Atinm and Codeworkx are happily sharing information with other -serious- developers so it might be worth contacting them. Well, it's great to see you here and I hope you get it working soon!

i have used same on my desire.
but some how its battery life was not good as that of sense roms leedroid or coolexe.
also there are not more ports as we have seen in desire ,
devs have ported all most all present roms to HTC desire that was very cool.
something i am missing out here in SGS2 forum.
but hope for best future of samsung galaxy s2 will have ports like our old desire.

Because there never was a CM for honeycomb, so to simplify things they skipped CM8 as they skipped Honeycomb.

How amazing and refreshing is this:
The branches that you care about:

ship on Galaxy Nexus. That's the one you want to be using to port to

Not from Google themselves. They've stopped support for the N1 so best bet will have to be somebody here making a ROM for the N1.

As someone who stays as far away from CM, I am hoping for a very very vanilla AOSP 4.0 for N1. I almost wish that google would built it but just not OTA it, and let developers figure out the space issue..
There is no need to worry about small system partition size.
BlackRose is the answer.
We'll get ICS

I wonder where the drivers could be obtained
I guess GB drivers does not work on ICS
It's going to be a little more complicated to bring to devices because the device is now considered "obsolete" like the G1 and the Ion. Hopefully someone other than Cyanogen can make us a good AOSP rom.
Nexus S, a.k.a. "crespo", and Nexus S 4G, a.k.a. "crespo4g", are supported with gingerbread, but can't currently be used with newer versions of the Android Open-Source Project.
Nexus One a.k.a. "passion" is obsolete, was experimental in gingerbread and unsupported, and can't be used with newer versions of the Android Open-Source Project.
Android Developer Phones (ADP1 and ADP2, a.k.a. "dream" and "sapphire") are obsolete, were experimental and unsupported in froyo, and can't be used with newer versions of the Android Open-Source Project.

Why do you stay far away from CM?
Some people just want no customizations even as little as they might be.
But if CM manages to get a rom working on the N1 someone can take that as a base to build a vanilla rom.
So I'm pretty sure this will come!

Well although I am running CM7.1 right now I really can see the reason for this. I ran an unrooted version of Vanilla GB since about February and only decided to adjust recently to get ready for ICS after it was announced we wouldn't officially get it. I know Vanilla has less features but it somehow just feels of a higher quality at times. Bit of a less is more type of thing.
Has everybody seen the Cyanogen Twitter feed? Two months for stable builds of CM9 and work on CM7 7.1.2 continues in the meantime.
(Nothing specific mentioned about the N1 though)
I propose that every dev stop their custom made ICS roms and instead work together to make the best ICS rom possible. I feel that now that Sony has abandoned ICS for us that we should be collaborating together to finish what they WON'T. Perhaps we could even create a gingerbread backwards compatibility app or plug in or something like that. This could be epic. Who is with me?

LMFAO, sorry but that is just a HORRIBLE idea. Devs already share information with each other on how to fix things. Stopping all development for a single rom? No way. People like certain things. Aspects from aokp, gummy, cna, cm9, aosp, they are ALL different so why would anyone want just one rom? I'd rather be able to choose from 12 different ics roms that are 95% working then just a single one that is 100% working, thats the beauty of development. One it's finished it's done. No more development.

There does not seem to be many errors with current ICS ROMs (Excluding Bluetooth audio)
The only way to run ICS is to unlock your bootloader. Period.

This comment is based on a misunderstanding of how the AOSP project, and CM9 for that matter, are structured. As agraceful said, devs from all over the world are already shairing their fixes, changes, and optimizations. Android isn't that fragmented. Each and every one of the ICS roms is based on one of 2 sources: CM9 AOSP, or a modified sony stock. The only thing the rom writers are changing for their individual roms are small features that don't change the fundamental functionality of the OS. PlayOSP, AOKP, FXP, CM9: they all operate and build from the same source code. If someone on the AOKP team fixes a problem, that solution will trickle down to all the other roms as soon as the code changes are committed.
Custom ROMs all have their pros and cons. It wouldn't be a bad idea if devs pooled their knowledge and skills to get a solid ICS base, then went off to apply their own customisations.
If ROMs like AOSP and CM9 etc are different then those specific devs could get together.

I've been working on a ICS ROM Based on Sony Beta for a few weeks now and to be honest I see no stability issues while using AOSP Theme, Supercharger, zRam, and so on, I've been playing Fifa 12 with no lag
Our best bet would to keep going like we are now, Because the rOMS are reasonably stable.

I still reckon ICS MIUI is the most stable ICS rom for the Play. Plus, the themes are great (aside from the over abundance of Chinese text)

Am I the only one truly disappointed with the SONY Z1 AOSP projects? Before I bought the Z1, I kept reading how Sony supports developers and how they are developer friendly and all. But then when they actually release AOSP files, the modem and camera don't work... Like seriously what use it a phone without these 2?
I also thought maybe with the release of the google edition xperia Z Ultra, that maybe they can share development (which I know is happening) but still it is not up to level with other phones. There still isnt a truly smooth 100% bug free version of AOSP for the z1.
Maybe I shouldve went for a nexus, but at the time I bought this phone, it was the best out there... And while Sony is releasing timely updates, nothing beats a true stock aosp custom rom (cm or PA or others)
It's just a little rant here, I Appreciate all the hard work that every developer is doing... I know you guys are awesome and doing all you can do, it's mostly Sony's fault for keeping all the proprietary code of modem and camera and others to themselves. Let me know if I'm missing anything.
yeah
Same thoughts here
