My problem is a little different from what I've mostly read. I use my N10 about an hour a day, then let it sit for 23 hours. About half the time when I turn the screen on, I find that it shut itself down at some point. Sometimes there's no notification light, and sometimes the notification light is actually blinking (weird).
I turn it back on, it boots up, life is good. It doesn't freeze while in use. It also doesn't keep time well. Between the time and the shutdowns I can't use it for an alarm, which would be nice.
Anyway, should I try to return it, reset it to factory defaults (I believe I did this a couple months ago), or is this normal?

Sounds like the problem I worked on for two months, commonly called sleep-of-death. I ended up RMAing mine, and the new unit did not have this problem. I suggest you RMA, even though its a bit of a hassle.
do you have to hold the power button longer than usual? typically with sod the unit is on (hence the notification light) but will not wake the screen. have you tried a factory reset? checking for any rogue apps? downloading a new image from Google and flashing it may do the trick as well.

So this problem has been going on for the past 2 days, and its very perplexing. Any help would be much appreciated.
For whatever reason, my phone has stopped automatically turning off after X minutes.
I'm talking about when you go into Start, Settings, System tab. There's options for automatically turning off the backlight after X amount of minutes (one option for when its using battery, another when its on AC Power).
The backlight auto off works just fine. After 1 minute, the screen goes semi-dark, but not blank.
What's not working is the Power setting, where you go to Power, then Advanced, and then both battery power and external power, you can have the device turn off if not used for X minutes. I've tried 1, 2 5, 10, and none of them seem to work.
The device only turns off the backlight, but then remains on, draining the battery at incredible speed. I need to manually keep hitting the hardware power button on the right side of the device to get the screen to go off completely.
Any help, ideas, suggestions? Thanks!

Are you running custom or stock rom, have you thought about possibly doing a hard reset. besides adjusting those settings have you tried something else. Was anything instlled just before this started if so what....I know thats alot of questions but it might help..
I thought dimming the screen was the manufacturers idea of turning off....mine has done that since day one. I too have tried everything and thought that was normal.
Hmmm, Mine dimms then turns off IE: 1 Min to turn off I'd say 30 Seconds it dimms and 30 seconds later it turns off.....
I'm using a stock ROM, havent installed anything "new" in the past few days. I normally run a bunch of various programs though, but I wasnt having this issue before.
I did a hard reset. Everything was fine. Then I ran a backup and it reinstalled all my programs/files/settings, and issue returned.
So its obviously being caused by oen of the programs I use, I just dont know which I guess.
Edit- Upon further investigation, I *think* its Palringo. I removed it completely, and everything seems to be ok again

This just started happening within the last couple hours. I haven't recently installed/uninstalled ANYTHING, haven't messed with any settings, no reg. edits, nothing at all. When restarting, I notice that sometimes it takes longer that it usually does to load my today screen. I'm noticing no differences in RAM at startup. I notice, for example, going back and forth between tabs on HTC home, the phone will freeze for a couple seconds and resume working normally after that. When receiving a phone call, it takes FOREVER for it to respond when trying to accept or deny the call. While in a call, it responds terribly slow when trying to raise/lower volume. Sometimes going from portrait to landscape and vice versa even takes longer than normal. I've had ZERO problem with my Mogul since I first got it 4 months ago and now I'm ready to throw it out the damn window. What's the word guys? I can go on about a couple other things that the device is slowing on, but I think you guys get the picture. TIA.
On another note, I first noticed it doing this when I plugged the device into my car charger. After that, regardless of being on battery power or external power, it was sluggish like never before. I noticed today, my battery died faster than usual. About 1.5 hrs ago, it was at 40% charge, and within less than an hour it dropped down to 10%. I had data turned off all that time and I still noticed the battery drop as well as hotter than normal backplate. Could it be something with the power source? I remember once, quite awhile ago, my phone totally died and after I charged it for a bit and turned it back on, it ran the same way, hhhmmmmmmmmm.
I have a NEON300, in other words, the US version with 20 key and US 3G. The problem I experience once in a while is sort of like the freezing people are mentioning. When mine freezes, or at least when I finally notice it has frozen, I get a blinking green or yellow LED, the phone is warm, and my battery is almost dead. Almost like I was on a call for 2 hours but I wasn't. The unit will not respond to any buttons or anything. The only way to wake it up is to pull the battery and restart. Then it works fine again for about a week. Has anyone else had this issue and possibly found a fix? Thanks.
I've had my US Dual for about a week now and I've had mine freeze at least twice. The LED's are normal, but the screen and buttons are non-responsive. The reset button under the battery cover does work and it resets fine and works. It seems to happen to me when I'm browsing the web.
I've got the US 20 key version with SPB mobile shell and the diamond theme running. Mine seems to freeze about 1-3 times per day. The led lights are still blinking but none of the buttons work or opening the phone. I have to to a soft reset with the stylus and then everything is back to normal...
It only does this when it powers down, i.e. auto sleep, then it won't wake back up.
No fix that I know of.
What a BS problem to have. I hope HTC comes out with a fix for this. I don't know about your guy's phones but mine gets warm and the battery drains for some reason. Maybe I will uninstall all of the 3rd party apps and see how that goes.
Hi,
The screen on my Nexus 4 has started to stay awake. I've noticed my battery drain a lot quicker over the last couple of days and I also noticed that every time I pulled my phone out the screen was lit so I've taken it out and watched it. It just stays awake all the time. If I turn the screen off the minute a message or anything comes in the screen wakes and stays awake so near impossible to keep it off for any length of time.
I do have the developer screen enabled and had stay awake whilst charging option enabled. I disabled that to make sure that this wasn't causing the screen to stay awake thinking it was somehow on the charger when it wasn't however the problem persists even with that option unchecked.
I have the screen timeout in display set to 30 secs.
Anybody else experiencing this or no how to solve?
The phone is stock and unrooted though I plan on rooting later today.

Does it stay awake but go very dim? I have this issue too.
can it be caused by the screen protector blocking the light sensor somehow?
Can you install BBS (BetterBatteryStats) and see what's keeping your phone awake?
Sounds like a FULL_WAKE_LOCK is constantly being imposed on your phone.
Questions
Is it only when you put it for 30s?
What's around your pocket when you put your phone in it?
Do you have any attachments onto your phone? e.g. skin protectors, cases...etc
Does this occur on any screen or just your home screen and the developer options screen?
Though some questions may be obvious, the best method is to be thorough with the situation. Answering these questions will help us better help you.
My phone shut itself down about an hour ago (plenty of battery left as I had to charge it earlier and was at 50% when it did come back on). It took several minutes before it would respond to getting turned back on again. I've got 2 messages since and the screen is now tuning off as it should. I had turned the phone off a few times to see if it rectified yesterday however that didn't work.
The problems wasn't anything to do with me having it in my pocket as the problem still existed when I had it sitting on my desk. I have no screen protectors or case and I never put it in any pocket that has anything else in it as I don't want to ruin too quickly.
So not sure what's going. All seems very odd. Hopefully not a sign that the phone is on the way out but looks ok for now. Will have to watch and see what happens over the next few days.
Thanks to all who took the time to respond. Hopefully I won't need to bother you again on this issue but not convinced just yet
Hello dear XDA guys ,
Sometimes the touch sensor doesn't work, but when pressing the power button the screen lights up and turns off normally, but the touch ID sensor doesn't respond, also can't lift up the screen to pattern unlock.
After maybe 30 seconds or 1 minute the phone wakes and repeats all the taps I made until this moment.
Also, sometimes when in call I take the phone away from my ear but the screen won't light up until 10 seconds or so..
I'll mention that after restarting the phone, the issue disappears for 1 or 2 days until it's suddenly returns.
Worth mentioning that after this incident happens, the battery drain is much higher than normal!
bump
anyone seem to find this issue familiar?
Sounds like a malicious app, try checking your battery stats and apps for anything unusual.

Hi! already did, "Android System" Takes the most (40%) - and of course after a restart it gets back to normal (about 18%)
nothing suspicious besides that..
Perform a factory reset.
The issue should be gone, install apps that are out of the ordinary later and test to see if that's when the issue comes back.
Alternatively try something like Gsam
