Apps that use Air View - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I love air view and want to know if there are any 3rd party apps making use of it, besides the Samsung apps and Flipboard. I'm talking about the technology to have your finger close to the screen but not touching it.
Would be sweet for a shooter game where moving your finger moves the character and touching the screen shoots!

galaxy note s pen calibration

Hi, as I have learnt, no method will calibrate my spen, but people have said two things may work. One is to move the spen off each corner of the screen. Two is to change from left hand to right hand in the spen dominant hand settings.
The hovering pen is only available on ICS and can be found this way: settings>pen settings>on screen pen indicator or hovering pen or something of those sorts.
Hope that helps

You could try this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS52aXRhbC50c3QubjcwMDAiXQ..
Although it is initially free you will have to pay to get the full features. As a free app any tuning you do will be erased after you lock the screen. The paid version allows for permanent changes, though I have not used the full version to verify this.

You have to be rooted for it to work and it's great on Samsung roms. It's not so useful on CM9 and roms based on CM9 as there's a bug (?) In the way they handle rotation profiles.
The app itself is great and the writer is very friendly and helpful.

I've got mine

I've been playing with my Note2 for a couple of hours, was sort of sad to turn my Note1 off....
Well, what's to be said?
I'm not disappointed but I can't say I'm over-whelmed with a years worth of development and technology.
I did my best to stick with the standard home but ended up back on LauncherPro - it gives much better use of the screen size, being able to resize widgets, customize the 15(x2) dock icons etc...
The screen difference is noticeable to me - bigger screen and lower resolution is... not best.
There is an issue with using App2SD in that it believes there is no external SD, EStrong's file explorer need redirecting to the external SD too.
Does using a 3rd party launcher make the phone more laggy?

I always remove icons and widgets from the default home screen first, never noticed any lag.
Watching a video, picture-in-picture while messaging and doing other tasks is _great_ !!

I've just stuck Nova on mine and it's like lightning, stock launcher is too if I'm honest.
Swyped from my finger to your face, on my Samsung Galaxy Note.

tip for s-note users with zooming problems

For the people that have the problem with the screen zooming while resting their hand on the screen try putting the pen close to screen before placing your hand on the sceen. Hope this helps people.

Or just switch to lecture notes, and set the settings to work with you, because there are plenty of settings to customize to work your your particular writing style. Only issue is the jagged writing at times.
But thanks for the tip I still use snotes for the formula writing and stuff

Enable Swipe on Note 3 phone app

How do you enable swipe between tabs of the phone app? Like you can swipe through photos in the gallery.
It is so much easier to operate with one hand by this way.
Any one? Noone know?
Yeah Samsung prefers tabbed non scrollable apps a la gingerbread, you'll need another phone app if you want to move between tabs just like with settings. Don't know if Samsung engineers just hate one hand operations but it seems that way.

[Q] Which 3rd party S-Pen apps do you use?

I'm curious if anyone has come across any great 3rd party apps that work well with the s-pen?
Personally, I'm feeling a little bit of a gap between the Action Memos and S-Note. (Action memos are only a post-it size, and S-Note takes a bit too long to load and navigate for jotting down quick notes).
I've tried papyrus briefly. Not bad.
