Hi all,
I've installed rr3 on my tablet. Its running stock 4.2.2.
The cars looked terrible so installed real racing graphics and it doesn't seem to make any difference!! There's been a lot of hype about the graphics in this game but it looks rubbish. Compared to asphalt 7 it doesn't come close visually.
Is it the same for everyone with a nexus 10

You need to follow the instructions. First make sure RR3 is not running when you apply settings. (Anything below High is not any better than default) Second it can't be running when you update RR3. Third it needs to be running for it to work, so hit home to exit it instead of hitting back.

No, so don't talk before seeing the real graphics. What I did was change the files from it's folder. I changed the ultra graphics for the low ones, and it looks great.

Putting it on 'High' should work fine. My big gripe isn't that it looks bad (if you look closely at A7, it ONLY looks good due to you moving so dang fast and the last patch SERIOUSLY broke its performance), it looks great to me. Its that the grills on some of the cars is the same color as the paint, or that the LoD looks like garbage at a distance.
Well I did it manually. Changed the ultra high file to low in the eds folder. Doesn't seem to look any different!! It seems to be the resolution really. Like a 1900x1080 monitor running a 640x480 image if you know what I mean.

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has a good JB gaming combo? It has to be able to run all the big apps smoothly like dead trigger, N.O.V.A 3 and so on. A few tweaks wouldn't hurt, or a lot, also, currently running stock with VTA kernel. And trust me, I would love to experiment with all the ROMS posted here but I have a download limit that I have reached, all opinions welcome.
up for this. also looking for good rom and kernel combo. im on jellybelly 1.0.0 with latest thalamus kernel
Thanks, bound to be more people with the same problem, I tried to download Air kernel weekly but I don't know which as to click on.

For me is CM9 RC2 with Matr1x kernel the way better rom than any JB roms availible thise days. Its working so smooth and all games have good fps. Playing Order and Chaos without any lag
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
Interested in this as well. There's one way I can run Dead Trigger smoothly in my stock JB rom, go into Manage Apps -> Running, and Force Stop each one of them!
I posted a probable reason at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816140
If there's a ROM that do not need me to Force Stop running Apps, I am all up for it!
you will have to try all the ROM available if you love to experiment...

What's even better is crank it up to 1400 MHz and do the tegra 3 hack for dead trigger, and and get ultra settings. its amazing a 2 1/2 yr old phone can run it with all the bells and whistles. Try it out you won't be sorry. Just don't forget to plug your phone in

Pretty simple... Post up ONLY photos taken in photosphere and ONLY if they were taken with either a Nexus S or Nexus S 4G... If possible, include links to them on G+ so we can see them in full 360... You can also post up any "tiny planet" photos if they came out good!!
I'll start first with one i took outside my apartment when i was first learning the 4.2 camera... No G+ link for this one because i don't know how to share the link from my phone... Someone else with a computer can look me up on there and post the link since its a public image!! Enough chatter on with the pics...

I wish the box would show the current image to help with lining up the photo, so until/if that happens, what are your tips for making everything line up properly? Do you try to pivot while keeping the lens in a static position?

I try to hold the phone in the exact same spot and just move like i am the tripod lol... Takes a few tries to get good at it... Start by doing just a few pics left/right and up/down... You don't have to practice with a full 360 photo...
Here's one i took yesterday at church... Its not a full 360... But maybe about 120 degrees of that space... There was obviously movement because of people an lights... But i think it came out good!

On the road with my Nexus S...
It looks like Sony has used a 1080x1776 display resolution in the Z rather than the original 1920x1080!
Some apps I used, showed the system specs as mentioned above, but I discarded it hoping that there was some error in their calculations. But even Vellamo benchmark shows the same as 1776. Is it true Sony that the device is not totally 1080p or what?
Or maybe, the rest of pixels was devoted to the soft buttons and the apps doesn't count it?
Very confusing on this part! Guys if you do know something about this, then please do share!

Yes, it's probably because of the soft buttons. Try using a mod to remove the soft buttons panel and see if the same app reports the screen as 1080P
Edit: Tested mine (Custom Rom with a mod for smaller soft buttons panel) and my resolution is reported as 1080 x 1812. So it is definitely the soft buttons panel.

You can resize them.
My display is '1812x1080' using smaller navbars. Also take into account this isn't a 720p display so the navbar uses more pixels (cos there is more) despite being the exact same ratio/size.

This is known, since Softbuttons are available in Android (4.x).
You can compare it to the HTC One X for example, surfing websites. The HTC One shows more, because it doesn't use Softbuttons.
Looking at pictures, watching videos or playing games will give you the fhd screen, because the softbuttons will be hided.
Yuo dont have additional pixels or another screen to show the softbuttons. they use the screen that is given.
It has a Full HD Screen and you can use it, when it matters.

Yes, I edited the build.properties to mimic GN2 in order to install FB home but I uninstalled it after that as I don't like it.
I'm on PAC ROM and in tabled mode, so yeah 4.2.2 and 1080x1920 is correct.
Cheers.
Our camera only records slo-mo in 800x450 while the i9500 is much higher (I believe 720p). Can anyone edit a working apk to this phone while retaining that resolution without the choppiness that comes with simply flashing the i9500 camera.apk? Thanks in advance!!

It'll work if you're using an i9505 rom. I don't think it will work with i337 roms. You just flash it and try though, it won't brick if it doesn't work it will only FC when trying to open the app.

Works on mdob haven't tested slow mo because I'm on ktoonz kernel and it reboots when I record with slow mo anyways. Just curious what is different in this camera?
72 slomo instead of 480 but it's a little choppy be it wasn't meant for these phones firmware
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Hmm I can't get it to install at all. On goldeneye 16.2
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Really?? That's what I was on when I installed it perfectly. it's a zip file that you flash btw maybe you just tried to unzip and install?
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
No I did try fishing it in recovery. using Phil's touch and it aborted when I tried to flash it. Then I tried to push it manually and it wouldn't even open.

Does this have to be installed on a Tw rom?

Our camera only records slo-mo in 800x450 while the i9500 is much higher (I believe 720p). Can anyone edit a working apk to this phone while retaining that resolution without the choppiness that comes with simply flashing the i9500 camera.apk? Thanks in advance!!

I seem to recall making a series of .xml edits to increase the camera resolution in Android for pictures (this was back in my Nexus One days). I'm currently on an AOSP ROM, so my file will be different than yours, but have you checked /system/etc/media_profiles.xml to see if the details of that camera profile are listed there? If so, theoretically, you should be able to adjust the settings.

I'll check that right away. Thanks!!
Ediy: couldn't find anything pertaining to that. Maybe you could take a look if I uploaded it for you?

I wish someone could get this working. Great request by the way

Christopher3712 was correct. If you open that file as text with a text editor there is a time lapse slow setting marked 480. I didn't try to change it but if you want it bad enough go for it. I'd make a backup of the file first, just in case.

I saw that but there's also other time lapse settings labeled 720 and 1080...that's what led me to believe that wasn't it. I'll try it though

Ya but only one labled slow. Marked 480. So I just put 2 and 2 together. Hopefully it will equal 4. I didn't read the whole file.

Didn't work. Even 480 isn't the resolution it's sticking at. It's actually 800x450...see attached. Also, I think you read it wrong. It says timelapselow lol

What is everyone using these days besides Google Camera? Is there anything new on the horizon to look out for?
Google camera & manual camera. Gets the job completely done. No need for anything else.
Sent from my Nexus 6
I'll check out manual camera. Do you just use it for specialty shots?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I'm also looking for something other than Google Camera. The S6 and G4 take great fotos and the software really softens and "beautifies" shots. Is there any app that is similar????

Camera fv-5 is my main shooter, does it all. Only use google camera for videos
I see that Google Camera v3 is to be released with M. Is it currently available in the M previews?

Look up the HTC camera in the nexus 6 forums (somewhere). It's a great camera!

The reviews on this app are loaded with low ratings. I didn't see any from a Nexus 6 customer however. The app never shuts down on you?

Yes that's the one it has more features than most other cameras I've tried and it also takes pretty nice pics. my secondary camera is always manual camera though can't go wrong with that.

Open Camera for me. I had trouble linking all others to my Google gallery when I his the stock camera, but open camera sends it to the right place and drive has no issues doing its auto backup. This is how life was supposed to work.

Proshot is the best so far, its a lot like manual camera (full hardware control and .raw images) but has more features and does video as well. Well worth the purchase.
I second proshot and the dev has been quick to answer questions and fix bugs.
