What is everyone using these days besides Google Camera? Is there anything new on the horizon to look out for?
Google camera & manual camera. Gets the job completely done. No need for anything else.

I'll check out manual camera. Do you just use it for specialty shots?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I'm also looking for something other than Google Camera. The S6 and G4 take great fotos and the software really softens and "beautifies" shots. Is there any app that is similar????

Proshot is the best so far, its a lot like manual camera (full hardware control and .raw images) but has more features and does video as well. Well worth the purchase.
I second proshot and the dev has been quick to answer questions and fix bugs.

Hi does anyone know if you can shot panoramic photos? A mate of mine had the samsung pixon and it auto stitches about 4 or 5 photos together fire you to make a prefect panoramic shot.. Looks great And I want to do that on my much more powerful x10!

this should help
Andropan:
Your high-megapixel Android camera lacks one thing—a wide view of the big vistas you can see with your own eyes. Solution: take a series of calm, steady shots across a plane, then load them into Andropan to stitch them together into one big masterwork of wide-angle imagery.

Thanks - Says that it doesn't work on the x10.. but it does!!!.. have emailed the dev though to suggest that they make it auto shoot the photo's when the edge of the image lines up with the previous photo..
it would be nice if SE can add the i-sweep panoramic software into x10 from their cyber-shot TX series.....

Andropan worked for me on the first launch. After that and every time since it FCs when it launches.
I'd love an app like the panorama capabilities of the Captivate. You just rotate the camera around and it automatically takes the shot when you get to the next position. Very slick.
Has anyone tried RobotView? Its in the market, its like a 3D picture. Like the streetview in google maps. But its still in beta phase, so it deosnt work perfectly

Installing apk directly works thou.
Res a bit low and way too dark, its lower than min exposure level on stock camera! With no way to change.
I stumbled upon this and think it's very useful using the camera. Taking self pics with the rear shooter is cumbersome sometimes and always mis-tap the shutter button.
Using voice commands to shoot is really neat. Shame Samsung tucks these neat features away and don't advertise them.

I can't find the music player in the App drawer. I'm stock Tmo. I've disabled a few apps. Can see the music player in the settings>App. Manage >all, and it's not disabled.
I can put the the widget on the home screen but it didn't seem to respond to next or pause. I've checked all boxes and the camera works with voice (which is very cool).
Is the Music Player an App as opposed to the widget? Was I just not doing it right?

Pretty simple... Post up ONLY photos taken in photosphere and ONLY if they were taken with either a Nexus S or Nexus S 4G... If possible, include links to them on G+ so we can see them in full 360... You can also post up any "tiny planet" photos if they came out good!!
I'll start first with one i took outside my apartment when i was first learning the 4.2 camera... No G+ link for this one because i don't know how to share the link from my phone... Someone else with a computer can look me up on there and post the link since its a public image!! Enough chatter on with the pics...

I wish the box would show the current image to help with lining up the photo, so until/if that happens, what are your tips for making everything line up properly? Do you try to pivot while keeping the lens in a static position?

I try to hold the phone in the exact same spot and just move like i am the tripod lol... Takes a few tries to get good at it... Start by doing just a few pics left/right and up/down... You don't have to practice with a full 360 photo...
Here's one i took yesterday at church... Its not a full 360... But maybe about 120 degrees of that space... There was obviously movement because of people an lights... But i think it came out good!

Nexus 5 stockish look
The kitkat easter egg is actually just a logo, so I took it and did a quick and dirty cut and paste to create these. Kept them in PNG format, so no image quality is lost in the process.
Don't know if anyone will fancy the black version, but it may work for AMOLED screens. For other colors just use the Gallery's editor to change the hue.
Note: They look best if you use Google Launcher to set the wallpaper in portrait mode. Also Nova Launcher have the ability to set wallpapers in portrait mode.
The 'square' version is for pre-KitKat devices, which tends to crop the image as a square.
