Hello, i just updated my my LG L7 P700 from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2 and i got a problem, phone uses a lots of ram, so in this update now i have only 50-120 free ram.. I updated my phone with LGMobile Support Tool. Any ideas how i can fix it? Searched for solutions, but didin't find it
It is quite normal consumption for JB on lg l7. I have between 80-140 free Mb of RAM

I've seen in other threads it should be 150-200 free space of ram
Maybe with a mod, but not with the stock - Rom.

If you have root access try to remove apps that you don't use. Check which processes are using a significant amount of memory with a tool like Quick system info then uninstall with Titanium Backup because most of those are system apps and you cannot uninstall from Applications.
Make a nandroid backup before this because you might uninstall something important.
For example I used to remove the NFC service, Live wallpaper related stuff, LG support stuff. The rest it's up to you.

Is it possible that you could give us a bit more information here...? What do you have installed, how much memory do you have left, and what are you trying to install?

I have need for speed installed and that's about it! I've 12 gb left and I was trying to install a apk for amazon market. I thought it was the apk that was faulty, so I downloaded a random app on the internet and it says that I need to delete stuff..
They don't install into your sd card, they install on your internal memory that's only about 5GB. Go to application settings and see if you can movie them to SD card.

dunno if they've changed it but normally theres a 2gb partition for apps and 12gb for storage. check if your 2gb partition is full. google recently changed things so that there is no longer a file size limit on what can be installed into the 2gb partition. so if one of the apps you've installed is particularly naughty, it couldve dumped a lot of data into the 2gb partition.
normally i find that shutting down and booting devices up again fixes the issue.
Ignore

Thank you anyway !
2 words. Incompatible App.
Maybe Amazon Market compatible. Try any other app. See if it installs

well it seems that mine was shipped with android 4.1 and now it's updated to android 4.1 .1
I would suggest if you can, install Quick System Pro, and check your system storage total and free..
Ignore, I didn't see second page
Are they all from play store or another vendor/site? If latter, you need to allow third party apps in settings>Dev options

Disregard Misread..
why is my miscellaneous portion of storage showing as 8 gb? if I click it, it says "7.97gb system memory" and underneath shows folders like zedge and kindle. my largest folder shown after I click on miscellaneous is zedge which is 135 mb. I'm unrooted and on mf3. (galaxy s4 i337) my gut feeling is that the 7.97 gb is the space that is taken up by default due to bloatware and preloaded apps. please help me explain why 7.97 gb of my phone's space is "system memory". thank you.

You guessed right...we have a huge system partition...nothing you can do about it...we need a dev to redo our partition layouts...but before we can do that we need a bootloader unlock...a real unlock, not an exploit like loki as rhat just allows flashing kernels and recoveries

Only 6 for me
On Cyannogenmod it is much less, only 1.3GB for me. Is that expected?

well thanks everyone. I really don't mind the space taken. rather I just wanted to just know what was taking up the space. thanks again

if you are going for virtual ram then try zram option in performance tab in settings

Some ROMs have the option of purging of assets that frees some RAM at the cost of a little performance.
Hi guys
If the Samsung galaxy S4 has 16gb and the operating system is 1.6gb (custom rom) why do I only have 4gb left. What is this "others" that uses about 7gb lol
Any info appreciated

Strange... go to settings->More -> storage, and post the results here.
Normally leftover after ROM install is around 9GB in total (rest taken by ROM, pls remember that the phone occupied space is bigger than the ROM image size).
If you'll see that e.g. Applications are occupying too much and you did not installed anything - it will be the bloatware.

Hi
That is usually a play store error , there must be some apps leftover giving you a conflict when you try to re install
Do the following :
1 Delete the app that is giving you problems at /data/app-lib
2 If the problems continues delete the app at /data/data
3 If problems continues delete also the app at /data/app
I'll tell him ,thanks
