Unlimited Scrolling - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all
I've recently got the S4 (on EE of course!) but i was just wondering if anybody knew about a way to stop the unlimited scrolling on the app draw / go back to page one upon closing the app draw without a launcher if possible?
After coming from a DHD rooted with JB it's a bit odd not being at the start every I open the app draw.
Thanks.

I don't think you can change it. Try using another launcher. In Nova Launcher you can set it any way you like it

[Q] Disappearing Icons

I have a couple of icons that I have to keep adding back on my widgets because they r disappearing!!! Does anyone know why this is happening and what can I do to fix this issue? I am not rooted, just got the device yesterday!!! Pls Help
Sprint Samsung Galaxy Tab

Firmware ver:2.2
It's probably a bug with Touchwiz and froyo. If your app is installed on the SD card,(which happens automatically if the program has the api) the homescreen shortcut disappears after a reboot. My initial workaround was to move the apps back to phone, but I noticed that the problem went away when I installed LauncherPro. I suggest you install a different homescreen launcher as a fix. You're not going to miss anything from Touchwiz anyway.
I'm using ADW Launcher EX and I'm having the same issue every now and then. I might try Launcher Pro.

Apps Order

Is there any way to order my apps alphabetically in touchwiz? At the moment it just puts newest app last, which is extremely annoying. I don't want to move every single app by hand, that would take me ages...
Heard of an app called "touchwiz appsorter" but that is not available in google gaystore
This is the reason I gave up on touch wiz and use ADW EX. I don't believe sorting is possible and the app you mention is, I think, incompatible with our version of touch wiz.
Try ADW or one of the Go Launchers.
The apps for sorted folders seemed insufferably slow last time I tried them.

Search for “appzorter“ in Google play store. IT works fine in Galaxy Tab 7.7
The other option is to go in titanium backup and clear data for twlauncher. It will reset your desktop and app drawer and fix any fc issues you may have with launcher. Your app drawer will be back in alpha order
But yea I recommend using another launcher like adwex. It has no lag

Galaxy SIII Annoyances Megathread

Galaxy SIII is a fantastic phone, but I seem to be constantly let down by touchwiz stuff. My idea for this thread is a big, long list of annoyances and suggestions for fixing them.
For example, an annoyance: TW doesn't support sorting the app drawer by name, you have to manually sort things and that goes slow. You would have thought they'd have a better way to manage the app drawer by now, but alas, no.
Solution: AppZorter Lite is a free solution that will sort your app drawer for you. Bonus: I like a nice empty app list, so I've gotten it hidden (one thing TW does do) and just launch it from the store when I need to.
Two that I haven't solved:
1) Facebook has filled my contact list with a huge number of people I don't care about, seems to have ignored the "only sync with existing contacts". Removing facebook users is a process: hold on the user, press delete, confirm that it isn't actually deleting.
2) The default MMS app seems to send (or displays?) all picture messages as slideshows. Super lame. Is there any way to turn this out without installing a 3rd party app?
App drawer, menu, view type, alphabetical grid or list.

much easier than my solution. skipped right over that option.
Thanks.
Trying out Pansi SMS as my sms solution, though it's a bummer that it doesn't interact with the lock screen like the native one.

If you goto phone contacts menu display you can remove fb contacts for ppl you dont want
Scrolling wallpapers!!!! (Already made a thread for it)
The app drawer thing is why I didn't use the TW launcher on the Epic. At least now I can install Apex or Nova in the system/app folder.
Network errors, Sprints fault, not the phone.
Oh, I asked that S-Voice b*tch where she was from and she didn't understand. Guess that's what I get for hitting on my phone. :crying:

nvm, someone already posted it.
TouchWiz in general is just a piece of ****. Still running the Epic here and I cursed my phone every day until I put launcher pro on it and it was manageable. Didn't actually like my phone until I rooted and got CM9. My wife is getting the S3 upgrade but CM9 will go on as soon as it is available. She knows how ****ty TW is.

TW isn't that bad, it's manageable but obviously they are better options.

Meh. To each his own. I used to own an iphone and found it boring and featureless. TW just reminds me of the iphone too much. Not as bad as miui though.

Turn off double ppress for svoice. It is quicker. The reason food the delay is that it is giving the user a chance to double press

Pissed that BB had no accessories when i picked up the phone and i now have 2 micro scratches on the screen from screen sliding along a piece of paper on my desk at work.
I hate the purple/baby blue rim around the phone.
Waiting for a black TPU bumper and black metal battery cover replacement from china to resolve these issues.
Outside of that- much more impressed with the form factor than that of the EVO LTE which i traded for it. The S3 is very comfortable in hand.
Phone is way too slippery!
BTW- Touchwiz sucks! i installed Apex while waiting to check out at BestBuy.

Home Button bug

I upgraded to ICS through Kies and after some time of usage the home button won't exit an app unless I press again a second rime.
At first I thought I might had not pushing it hard enough but this is not the case and it happens with every app.
I haven't installed any new apps besides the ones I've always used without this problem.
My phone is not rooted and I'm using the default touchwiz launcher. No mods of any short.
Anyone else who has come across this problem?

I have the same issue, on stock 4.0.3 rooted, using Nova launcher.
It is more apparent right after the device wakes up. It seems like it's struggling to load fast enough core OS elements/parameters or user input.
It's a joke.
They need to prioritize certain user commands, and suspending or exiting an app is way more important than weather update for example...

(Q) Problems with picture frame widgets on Nexus 7 stock launcher

I am having issues with multiple picture frame widgets on my homescreens with the stock 4.3 or 4.4 launcher. This problem started when I was on 4.3 and carried over to 4.4. I put picture frames with different pics of my family on my homescreens. Recently I had to set my homescreens up again and when I go to place the widget on my homescreen it disappears. The picture frame is there with no picture. I've tried multiple picture frames from the play store and nothing is working. The stock picture frame does not work either. If I use apex or nova as a launcher the picture frames will work. It is only happening with the stock launcher and it's getting to be annoying. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have ideas or suggestions?

Bump. At this point im going to change my question since I haven't had any body reply. Has anyone had trouble with widgets in general disappearing from homescreems when trying to place them there? That could at least point in the right direction on trying to fix my problem.

Using the widget for picture album on my home screen without any issue. This is the stock launcher from android 4.4
build, KRT16S. The widget remained on the home screen after multiple reboots and shutdowns.
