I've tried 3 different kernels and they've bootlooped me! Anyone rogers, telus or bell using kernel that works for their stock Rom?
Thanks!
The faux kernel works great I was just using it, now I'm running kt kernel from tmo section

The kt kernel is auto loki'd so it doesn't work with Canadian variants. I'm on Rogers and am using faux 003. It should work just make sure you download the right one from the thread as there's like 8 versions for all the different variants. Also for the Canadian variants there's 2 003 kernels, one is m and the other is u. I'm using the m one
done! Using faux kernel. Works good.

Its in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Original Android Development section.
The link is : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273442 which ultimately links to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273437 and with in that thread the kernel is there.
instead of looking through the post for the right one though just click here as its the link to the kernel i use.

I noticed these are all TW kernels, anyone using any AOSP jfltecan kernels, is there even any? I am disappointed by the development of Canadian roms and kernels... I better start learning myself I guess..

If you look at the CM 10.1 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275545 It has a specific Canadian variant build which will include a CM capable kernel to run that will not be loki'd and will not result in a bootloop.
Then we have slim bean : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273359 Which is specifically developed for Canadian variants as well, again this will flash a AOSP/AOKP capable kernel with the rom that is not loki'd and will work
However the following rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293162 is pre-loki'd so installing this will get you in to a boot loop.
Hopefully this helps.

KERNEL CONTROLS HARDWARE, STORES DRIVERS ECT. 'FAUX' IS A MEMBER/DEVELOPER WHOM CREATED THE KERNEL.
2. Which is the most stable gingerbread based rom which has fingerprint unlock supports?
STOCK?;-) I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE, THAT'S WHERE HOURS OF READING COMES IN HANDY
3. can you overclock turls CM9 rom?
THIS ROM USES FAUX'S KERNEL -NON GB. THE KERNEL IS ALREADY OVERCLOCKED. THIS ROM HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH NEARLY COMPLETE, IS STILL IN ALPHA/BETA STAGE. THERE MY BE NON-FUNCTIONING PARTS TO IT.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU SOME

Hey everyone... Just got home from buying my nexus 4... rooted a few minutes ago and got pa installed. Some of the kernels I used on my galaxy nexus aren't here which I'm sure will be OK.... Are there any kernels that stand out above the others in any way?
Thanks for the help!

I'm using Franco Milestone M1 kernel. Seems to be a great combo with PA with about 4.5-5 hrs of SOT. But try other kernel for yourself and see which one is best for you.

It is the enhanced 4.2.2 stock kernel by Faux, you can download it from the first page of his thread.
Yes, it should work fine with .33 radio and LTE.

that has nothing to do with flashing kernels. dont listen to anyone that says they recommend to, theyre clueless. btw, try trinity kernel. and while youre at it, every kernel here is good. find the one that fills your needs and that your device likes best.

Thanks
This is a mod of MyMiui v5 by aminalmo from the At&T thread..
All credit to him!!!
Would really appreciate if a real dev could take an interest in this to take over and do it "properly"..
Here's the link, obviously it's working, but flash only if you take ALL responsibility for doing so!
But please report back!!!!!!!

When I used the AT&T versions of Paranoid Android and Jellybam they didnt require a kernel change. The key thing here is that they were both AOSP based, TouchWiz based roms may require a different kernel.
need to change the build.prop to N7105.
it still under t889 for tmo.

I can confirm what namejokerx has said.
Briefly - Here are the things I found:
phone app FC when other person hangs up.
Kernel needed to be changed to support exFat card (in my case) -i suggest to flash rom then perseus kernel or stock n7105 kernel before using the rom
Overall this is an excellent rom I didnt find much difference between the pure at&t one from aminalmo - both roms worked well and have g/2g/3g/h/h+ and wifi working fine for me.
hope this helps.

The link is no longer working.
Link fixed
I really want to download this and give it a try but I can't download from 4 shared. Any chance of a media fire upload?
Edit: scratch that, made a fresh account, downloading now.
FYI I will be using the latest Adam Kernel (version 2.4) for N7105 as it is my favourite. Will report back soon with my thoughts.

If you use the latest animalmo rom (3.5.10) from the at&t section and flash perseus kernel afterwards miui v5 works well for the N7105 "tolte"

That's Right, LTE not working for me either. Also another thing I noticed I get the below error after making some outgoing calls
"SIM network unlock Pin"
With Unlock and Dismiss button.
I am able to dismiss it without entering it but curious to know why its started coming. As far as I know my phone is unlocked for any kind of carrier.
Please advice

Ok, so I've rooted and flashed rasbeanjelly from the nexus4root(dot)com website.
I've set everything up, down loaded apps I want etc, however I've heard that trinity kernel is very good with this ROM, if I'm wrong and there's a better kernel correct me. So how do I install the kernel? Same way I did the ROM? Is it compatible? Do I have to wipe everything? Is there a better kernel to use?
Thanks a lot for reading.

Just flash the .zip in recovery, no need to wipe anything. There's no 'best' kernel so your question about better kernels could easily get 20 different replies.
Ok thanks for your reply, what about compatibility? I've heard that if ROMs and kernels aren't compatible it can brick your phone

As long as the kernel and ROM you download are for the N4 it should be perfectly fine. In the future with new releases of Android there may be some issues, but devs usually make it pretty clear in the OP what you risk by flashing your phone.

Now that we can load kernels, is there one that exists for the OF1 build which allows overclocking? If not for 'verizon' N3, can we use one that was developed for a different vendor (e.g., Sprint)? Thanks...

Both idlekernel and leankernel work fine and allow overclocking. There is a version of each that works fine on the Note 3.
