Anyone else having problems with OpenFeint enabled games on the Note? For example tapping the OpenFeint button in Flight Control or Fruit Ninja brings up "Loading Feint..." and stays like that forever without it actually loading anything.
It works fine on my tablet, but not the Note.
OpenFeint does not work on my Note, at least in the few games I have (which is most of the Market sale 10c app ones).
I dont use it so I've not put any effort into fixing it, but I can vouch for the fact that it doesnt work on my device either.
Does not work on mine either (stock KKA ROM).
This happened with some ROMs on my Galaxy S too. We'll have to wait for a new version of Openfeint or the device ROM.

Same here, don't work, KKA ROM.
Doesn't work here either. Most probably is been disabled by the makers of Open Feint themself...due to the possible gaming advantages Note owners might have???? (bigger screen/lightening fast?)

hello all yesterday my phone got crazy while i was watching youtube ,
when i wanna press something in screen then it goes to something else ,
and i restarted phone and i got stuck in SIM card locked , i cant press numbers to unlock SIM card when i wanna press 9 then goes to 7
if i press 3 then goes to 1 and like so , i restarted phone , did battery off for 10 minuts , flash phone all over , tried everything but calibration won't work
any help
try to do factory reset and reflash other rom,try to reflash kdz....

Hardware problem i think.
I think it get worst when it is Hot..
Isto have put mine charging and it started to do that, also the other time it ocour was in an Hot Day and it was in my pocket.

thats seems logic, i had this problem twice , both when i was watching youtube loong in phone ,
first time i got , i closed youtube and wifi ,
and second time , i ignored and keep watching youtube ,

When the screen gets hotter the platics becomes a bit soft, thats what may happens, maybe the digitilizer

I installed the apk and calibrate the screen.
NOTE: check always calibration!
I haven't tested it so much, but when I installed it was very hot the GT540, and I calibrate it, and it seem to work. But lets see with the time.
This with the same rom.

Well at least mine is working well now.
I also changed the rom to TX-MIUI v4 and it's working well.
I don't if it really was the apk or just luck, but it's working!

This is the first time I'm posting in General section.

SO the thing is ,
The phone was all right till yesterday night.
I have a bad habit of putting my SGY on charging mode and then sleep the whole night.
The GY keeps on charging for full night......
So , today morning when i started my phone , and used it for about a minute ,
the DISPLAY brightness suddenly dropped.It even wasn't equal to the normal lowest brightness , more than it.
I can't even see the Wallpaper or anything now.
After i removed the battery and put it on again , and tried to switch my phone on , I couldn,t even notice the Samsung Logo.
After some time I noticed that the phone was switching on , but at VERY VERY VERY LOW BRIGHTNESS!!!:crying::crying::crying:
So the phone vibrated after long pressing the switch on button...
And the phone was on now...
But i couldn't see anything again......
This time i noticed that the phone was working nicely.... , but the brightness was REALLY LOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:crying::crying::silly:
And even the screen is working , i mean that the phone responds to touch ,and i can even see some white objects like the Applications menu in settings ,
the menu to select launcher etc.
So all i want is immediate help on this topic.....
Please help me guys...............:crying::good::laugh::silly:

change the brightness in setting
first of all go in a dark room or switch of all the lights then u can see ur screen
so try to change setting
or backup apps n data and flash stock
or go to sammy service center

Get your phone changed, that seems to be a hardware problem
If ur recovery mode or download mode not show good....... Best way go to samsung service center ...

To be honest I think that something has blown in your phone bro
The only thing you can try is installing a stock firmware through Odin and clear all data and cache and see if that fixes the problem, if not... well then you need to take it in for repairs. Sorry
Or if you know somebody else with a Y, ask if you can try their battery in your phone, could be a battery problem Really not sure.

Going in dark room helped a bit Alkesh.....
Turned the brightness to full.....
Still too dark......
Now gonna go to sammy service center.....:good::victory:

Man i tried flashing both DDLA1 and DXKL2.....
Firmware successfully installed....
But still the same problem...........
I THINK ITS AN HARDWARE PROB.

I am almost got fed up reading battery saving tips for android, turn off all features, add bulky battery etc. You can see thousands of forums, with the same same old tips like this, if the features has to be turned off, then why an S4, Nokia classic phone was fine right?
Just one Query, does any one know how to implement iOS like Power/Application management in Android/Galaxy S4 ? The iOS motto is like, if you are using device, it would consume battery , otherwise no. Just wanted something like this which can save battery, any idea ?

Hi,
I did try Greenify, and its like everytime the apps needs to be manually force stopped after use, thats a bit wierd, and to take the full advantage, the phone needs to be rooted. As rooting voids the warranty, it wont be a good idea.

So I assume you have i9500 version with no good custom roms.
Without customs roms you cant do much.

In android , we have numerous background processes which obviously drains the battery. If you can reduce these processes then u would have a better battery backup. Background processes of iOS n Android are completely different so dont compare it. Rooting is the best way to gain control of your device.

Us S4 users also have the option of using an extra battery, if you really need some extra juice.

Two batteries may result into caliberation issues. Its better to buy a power pack instead of extra battery.

Well u ll get to know about the caliberation issues after months.I had SGA S5830 with an extra battery n faced caliberation issues, SGA ws completely on stock n unrooted. N its logical that if someone is investing 34k in S4 then why would he buy a £3 eBay battery!

Hi Pal,
Ya, I know, and about Custom rom , I am no longer interested at the moment, got to play enough with my Galaxy S+ and Custom ROM, so advantage and disadvantages are very much aware now . With my S4, I dont want to root it or flash Custom ROMs, I was trying to find a way without affecting the official ROM. Trying some workaround, shall let you knw if it works.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, I wouldn't recommend that option when you have to do Opening , change battery and closing the back cover on a daily basis, that doesn't look good isn't it? fine, the other option, adding a double capacity battery, aaaah., Considering the shame that brings for you , when someone says, what the heck you're doing with this soap box ( that much bulky it is) , you would rather wish let the phone be switched off better. ,
Okey fine, I have done a work around , which is not perfect as iOS, but some what near.
What I did was, thanks to the kitkat update, which allows you to turn off all most all of the services (including google services) and all the samsung service (most of them), I have turned off all the Samsung service, which I felt not needed (may be S planner and S memo , may used, keep those), and turned off all the unwanted google services, ( games,newstand, play music) ... I did turn off, so anytime it can be turned off, so that fine.
Now, the result! Initial analysis found to be good, I am now getting 10+ hrs, where as before it was 6hrs, (That too on Wifi/3G, without turning off the extra features, air view and other smart features)
No Crashing, No Lag, and about all the main thing I wanted, it drains a very little when it sleeps, almost like iOS now ( yes, iOS drains almost nothing during sleep ) .
100 to 96% after 8hrs during sleep, its good I would say.
Still I could do nothing about SAMOLED Screen and Voice call, which found to be the main battery eater.
Let's see if something new comes to save in Android 4.5 /or 5, which ever the upcoming version is.

Hey guys, since 4.4.2 has arrived.. I think its fair to create a thread where all of us can report whatever bugs exist in 10.5.A.0.230.. So that Sony can see this and fix them.. Or it might help our devs..
EDIT:
Bugs i found,
1. Wifi gets disabled by itself, a simple reboot solves it though.
2. Small stuttering on the notification bar.
3. RAM leak exists but gets fixed after a reboot(Google's 4.4.2 bug and its fixed in 4.4.3).
4. GPU drivers arent as good as in 4.3..
5. Over time, the fw becomes unstable'ish and shows some lags and apps take time to open.
6. Sometimes calls won't reach the other side and when it does, the caller(us) wont be able to hear anything from the other side.. This happens a lot like once in every 2-3 days..
7. Sometimes after video recording, there is no sound in the video.. Its MUTE..
7. All 4.4.2 Google's bugs..
If u have any other to add, mention me and i'll add em..
Fixes:
Most of the bugs are solved automatically after a simple reboot, if u face lags do wipe cache and dalvik cache and u will see the difference..
Google Play Services battery drain bug can be solved by disabling the Location service.

My album, walkman, and movies become old version bro after update to kitkat. An example: In 4.3 my album version is 6.x.x.x, and now in Kitkat my album is 5.x.x.x anyone have same case with me?? :angel: (NB: no update from sonny update application)

It seems to be normal that 4.4 is a bit laggy, try out the following: "Settings--> Developer Options --> Force-GPU Rendering", after rebooting it should be a bit better :good:

Tested this solution yesterday. in some parts of the UI the phone is better but in other absolutly no, for example when I open conversations...

Try enabing Force 4x MSAA or something.. It removes some lags too..
Huge battery drain from Google Play Services after the upgrade. I'm down to 30% battery after 4 hours. Google Play Services has taken 50% of that.

Im still on 4.3 but confirmed info from my friend:
Camera app slower start, typical is 7sec but max was 14-17sec, and overall laggy camera menu.
Stock keyboard slower start, and laggy text select option.
Overall speed of menu is worst.
No audio notification via bluetooth
Battery "sucker" system apps.
4.4 stupid SD card limitation(but its google stupid idea)
Worst performance with GTA: SA
PS enabling Force-GPU Rendering or {omg} 4x MSAA is worst thing that you can do, because it make older apps lag or even FC.

Same performance in games (Real Racing 3), slightly better battery usage, almost same RAM usage, no lag in notification bar/area, for now superstable and smooth.
Saw someone posted that there's no the letter " L " to tap while pressing the 4.4.2 3 times,it just turns black screen,and few more press to reach the Android KitKat logo.
Looks like .227 and .230 is the same,Sony devs didn't fix anything.
We need to fix ourself...

It was expected,seems like they didn't put much effort into this,just to give us "something".I knew it they are not delaying the release just to perfect the firmware,but oh well,going back to my favorite AOSP.It was the same case back then,when they released 4.3 journalists version,then they gave us the very same firmware as official,despite the bugs that everyone was reporting.We got what we deserve I guess.

We deserve what we paid for. We didn't pay for some laggy ****.
Took 6 Months to release and we got a half baked sluggish rom. Reminds me on Sony's ICS Update.

I'm downgrading to 4.3 again now....
