Hello, I'm new so, thankyou for your help...
I'm in this situation...
AP: I9505XXUAME2
CP: I9505XXUAME2
CSC: I9505OXXAMDB
kernel 3.4.0-431985 Pre-rooted
with binary=official, counter=0
but unfortunately
status=personal (I don't know why)
I would install the full version of the last kernel following this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2250824
but I see two different versions...
- Pre-rooted
- Unbranded
and
- Pre-rooted
- Unbranded
- DEODEXED
I should have the first situation...
but I've many doubts
1) Is the status=personal a problem? I've tried with the standard updates but obviously they don' work....
2) I've a 64GB SD that works fine...If I go with the new version, I loose the compliancy?
3) Does the procedure erase the data? Or is it just and update?
Sorry for the long thread,
thankyou vm...I really appreciate all the clarifications...It's just my first Android Phone!

Sorry guys but i've been trawling through all the stuff on here and can't make headway with all the mass of info.
I have an unrooted Note 3 on O2:
AP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CSC: N9005O2UBMHD
Software update on the phone is saying its the latest version but obviously the sim free guys are way higher now.
Having loads of trouble with poor signal/dropping wifi etc and I don't want to wait for O2 to pull their fingers out and release their version.
I would like to remove the O2 firmware branding and restore to the latest MJ7. I just don't know the best way to go about this (obviously preferring not to trip knox) Hear loads about keeping the old baseband but then radios/modems need updating...oh i don't know.
Anyone kind enough to do a step by step I would be so grateful.
Thanks :good:
After a day with no signal i'm getting desperate lol
Hi everyone,
first of all i hope it`s not a double thread, I could not find any BTU discussion of 4.3.
I`m getting really lost in this OTA / Kies compatibility over here..
My S4 was rooted now I`m trying to restore it to official state to make it OTA update compatible again.
The phone was bought in UK, GSM phone.
There was a matching firmware, which should be compatible for updates here, but i keep getting the same "Your firmware is not supported..." error message again and again.
Details:
AP: I9505XXUEMJ7
CP: I9505XXUEMJ7
CSC: I9505BTUEMJ8
Current binary: Samsung Official
System status: Official
Later on 2nd try:
AP: I9505XXUEMJ7
CP: I9505XXUEMJ8
CSC: I9505BTUEMJ8
Current binary: Samsung Official
System status: Official
So far after trying to help my problem with Google all I got, that I9505XXUEMJ7+I9505XXUEMJ7+I9505BTUEMJ8 is the latest official state and BTU is for the UK.
If someone could explain what is wrong here, I would be very happy.
Thanks.
Thread says the same, that I`m using the correct version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Is my question so stupid or is it an unique problem that I have so no one will reply?
Maybe I'm missing something here but have you reverted to stock, stock recovery and Triangle Away first. You cannot receive OTA updates or Kies if your device is rooted or has a custom recovery etc...
Yes, Triangle away done, stock rom, stock recovery.
Cool, is BTU the correct firmware for you? Are you on a different carrier there? Can you flash the stock ROM you want through ODIN? (gotta run for lunch but I'm sure someone better than I will help)
restock
put phone into download mode
open kies select firmware upgrade initialisation
enter model number and serial number in capitals
make sure both are correct you can find it on the box or under the battery.
Thanks everyone, I`m gonna do it all over again this evening. BTU is correct for me, its unbranded gsm unlocked phone from UK.
Edit: Boring day in job here.. redone the whole thing and it works now.
Thank you everyone, again.
Hello,
I bought a GN3 in Hong Kong. I've tried many times to upgrade to the newest fw via OTA or Kies unsuccesfully.
Here is the details of my phone:
AP: N9005ZHUBMI7
CP: N9005XXUBMI5
CSC: N9005ZZHBMI7
As soon as the phone tries to install the new firmware, the phone gives an error and stops the upgrade. I don't understand why.
I would like to upgrade to an european FW like ITA nobrand. And I have some questions:
1) Will the CSC change as I flash the new FW, I mean will be installed the new CSC ?
2) I heard about the knox trigger. Will it be triggered or not ?
3) The status of the phone will remain "Official" ?
4) The upgrade to the new firmware MK2 will not allow to get the root anymore ?
5) Can I upgrade to new released FW in the future via OTA or Kies ?
Thank you in advance.

Hey guys..
So I was trying to install a Korean Note 3 4.2.2 firmware (SM-N900S) on my Australian Note 3 (SM-N9005) using ODIN but was a failure.. It wouldn't proceed, saying "failed" so I gave up and instead of that I've installed UK Note 3 4.2.2 (SM-N9005)..
But I still want to install Korean firmware on my phone!!
So does anyone have any idea why this was a failure??
Is it because the model name is different?? (Will changing the model name by rooting help?)
From my past experience, I was able to install international firmware even without changing the model name..
About my device:
AP: N9005XXUEND3
CP: N9005XXUENC2
CSC: N9005OXAEND1
If you need any information about my phone (version etc.) Please ask!!
So I'm currently on UK BTU 4.2.2 (SM-N9005) and trying to install Korean SKT 4.2.2 (SM-N900S).
*This isn't a custom rom!!
Please help..
Thanks!!

The boot sequence in modern phones is secure/restricted (and Odin also tries to enforce it even before the boot - to stop you from writing bad stuff).
Basically the bootloader is different (something that you can also see even on the same N9005 model when going from 4.3 to 4.4 - 4.4 does not work with old 4.3 bootloader and currently there is a restriction which stops you from downgrading the bootloader).

But I'm not trying to downgrade.. Will it still not work..?
Also then, is there any other way to break this restriction?

No, you can't flash Korean rom on your N89005...
Hello, I have an S3 Neo (I9300I) with Android 4.3 and I would like to upgrade to 4.4 so I can start installing other roms. The question I have is what 4.4 version corresponds to my 4.3 version?
AP: i9300ixxuand1
CP: i9300ixxuand1
CSC: i9300iojvand1
I don't wanna have any conflicts with my phone not detecting my phone operator.
Thanks.
Okay I started reasearching:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s--neo/GT-I9300I/MID/
I took the AP and searched for it on Google. The Iraq MID has the same jellybean AP Version.
But I don't know what the CSC is for (still noob).
I any case make a backup with TWRP.
You can literally install any official firmware and it'll work. The only problem you might get is a non-working camera. If such happens, check this thread made by me. Step 5 is the one you wanna look for in this situation xP
Have fun flashing and welcome to the world of Android customization!!
He told you everything.
