I am having the same problem with one I'm trying to fix. I have scoured the internet trying to find a fix and have been unlucky so far. The D2G had a similar problem that occured after trying to flash back from the .629 OTA to the .608 sbf that was fixed by a patched .608 sbf file so I've been looking to see if the D2 had a similar fix. I'll post here if I find anything.

I think I may have found a solution. I am testing it now and will post if it works.

if you had cm10 installed, and then installed d2 bootstrap
you likely screwed up rom included bootstrap, not sure
if you did you have to start over
if it's included, it will be in power off options

this what you need
Why did you installed droid 2 boostrap?! That was really fail, you must not install bootstrap, when you already have bootmenu...
Your only chance is now flashing SBF.. check one page back to see how to do it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1374)

Hi,
At first, thank you, on 3 or forum I posted, you are the only one to have been answered, thank you.
This is what I do:
I find a forum that you should press the vol-appears just when the blue LED ... I managed to get a recovery alternative .... brief clearing the cache, manually installing the rom, manual recovery ... update, recovery and final update and everything is back ok
Again thank you for your time
glad you got it figured out

Stuck in recovery, reactivation lock is on and ODIN is failing.

I've read that I need to re-partition but I can not find the correct PIT file for my device (specifically, SM-T337A). If this is in fact what I need to do, any assistance in locating the correct PIT file would be greatly appreciated! If this is NOT what I need to do, any assistance in figuring out what IS the correct course of action is also greatly appreciated! What initially happened was I attempted to root while on 5.1.1, which I've read you can't do (clearly) so now it only boots into recovery. When I try flashing with ODIN, ODIN fails and my device says "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1".
Again, thank you in advance for any help!
did you ever find a fix for this, i have done the same thing?
No fix yet
Nope, it has been a paperweight for a while now :/

well i've got good news for you then, got it running. download the OTA 5.1.1 update and write it to a SD card then run the update from external memory in the updater...
so download the zip file and put it on a micro.sd then put the sd in your T337A and when updater starts click down to install from external memory and select the file. it take a few minutes to start working so just let it sit. (link to the download below remove spaces), if for some reason you can't download it i have the file.

Please someone have pit file for t337a
If you guys were on 5.1.1 you need the LP(boot.fix). If your on the unauthorized screen boot into download mode. Open odin and flash LP(boot.zip) do not extract zip just flash in PDA slot. Now im going to post the link for it through Mega. For those that do not know what Mega is its an app from the playstore. The last time I posted a guy said this method seemed fishy because he was new to flashing and had no idea that Mega is a cloud sharing app thats free. This fix is not my work ALL CREDIT GOES TO Cocafoca.

Update from external storage is disabled.

Hello; I am trying to install Nougat on my G930A through ADB, but when I click Apply update from ADB, I get an error saying that update from external storage is disabled. How do I go about enabling it? The phone is rooted.

Did you have root when you tried the side load. You have to be stock PK1 to sideload nougat. You can't have root. And also nougat is unrootable as of right now.
Now I'm back on PK1 using what dirtydodge provided me with. When I try to load the provided QA6 I receive E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7)

I'm not sure what that error is. Are you using "update from adb" or "update from sd card" I'll see if i can pull the md5 off the file so you can check to make sure it was a good dl.
When I try to push it via adb i get "E:footer is wrong" "E:signature verification failed"

Oh OK. I didn't try the adb method. I'm not that good with commands. I chose the update from sd method. Here is the md5 though from the zip that i downloaded from my mega box.

I've had a few different people that have dl those files and flashed as is (not renaming them or anything) and it has worked when others wouldn't.

If you're really stuck, the best way to get it working again is connecting the phone in download mode to a PC/Mac and restore it with Smart Switch, so you don't risk downloading a wrong/corrupted image for Odin

PLEASE, BEFORE POSTING THIS KIND OF ANSWERS HERE, READ THE QUESTION THREE TIMES AND USE YOUR BRAIN, OR YOU'LL ONLY CAUSE DAMAGES.
What I see there is a .tar image for J530, not J500 (J530 is 2017 model, J500 is 2015). He wants to get the phone working again, not completely bricked because he flashed an image for another device.
