Hi Guys,
new guy here !
I have just installed the [ROM][I9500][XXUAME1][May18] Omega v4.0 ●►JB 4.2.2 ROM. When making calls the earphone sound breaks up. I plugged in headphones and it is doing it there as well. The problem was not there on stock ROM.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Post the question in the thread of the rom maybe?
Anyway, I have a Sony phone, but non stock roms can always jabe issues, you probably need to wait for the devs to fix it

Many thanks for your reply. I reloaded the ROM then the ear piece was totally dead and I can not hear anything. I flashed and loaded the ROM again, sound was back but really bad and breaking up....even with headphones.
would you say that there is an issue with the ROM or the actual phone?
I am not able to post in the actual thread for the ROM as I don't have enough posts to ask a question
thanks
Just a quick update. I tested a skype call and sound is perfect. so it must only be a problem on making cell calls....

FYI, according to HTC - BEATS only work when you have speakers or headphones connected.
Most of the time this mod bombs so be careful.
i hooked up headphones and noticed a slight diffrence but nothing to write home about

How is it compared to Voodoo?
I know Beats is said to be overrated.

I tried, but liked vodoo better, as this mod permanently increased some bass effect, with vodoo you can control it. But to most people it won't matter, as it works good enough without tinkering anything.
I use them together and I can notice a more clarity and bass. Of course I have a pair of $200 DJ headphones so maybe that helps
Also this isn't a port and doesn't belong in development. Thanks for posting it though, we follow the rules strictly over in the Captivate forums too.

Been using beats audio from a zip I had on my thrill and it works great....I can definitely tell the difference especially when I use it through my car.

It seems that the original link is gone, but I found this in the Epic 4G threads and wanted to give it a try. It's suppose to work for any Gingerbread rom, but I'm running ICS. I listened to a music track before flashing and then flashed the zip and it seems to sound clearer. It might be just a placebo.
If anyone wants to try this and see if it works, please see the attached flashable zip.
I don't take credit for this; but feel free to thank me if you like this.
Oh ya, make a nandroid before you flash this - just in case it messes something up.

Welcome...glad i could help
So i decided to root my G2. When i did i got a phone call and could not hear the other person. I decided to unroot my phone and I still have the problem. I don't think its a hardware issue because i have never dropped the phone from a large height. Ironic that it would be but I don't think thats the case.
If anyone has a fix please reply! I've tried SuperWipe and Wipe through ClockWork and factory reset and everything!! I don't know what i haven't tried yet but a fix would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Probably need some more information regarding what ROM you are running. I know there was trouble with some older ICS ROMs (and GB if I recall, its been a long time) where the mic pickup was terrible and people could barely hear you talking during a call.
EDIT: Opps. Just saw you were talking about hearing other people, not them hearing you. Still, need more information regarding the ROM you're on.
Just got the same problem on Andromadus 99. I will check if its software or hardware related in a couple of hours when I get home.

After I rooted I decided to use CyanogenMod 9 RC1 Unofficial. When I noticed the problem I immediately unrooted my phone using the XDA Wiki. I'm now running stock 2.3.4 with S-ON.
Try speaker phone.
Try a bluetooth device.
If it doesnt work, you may be speak with a silent person.

sounds coincidental, think you may need to spend the 4$ and 20 min to replace the speaker

That's something I would like to know, too. My speaker also broke and I dont have a replacement phone for the time it would be in repair. Do you have something like a guide for changing the speaker?

Yeah that'd be great. The only part that I can take apart is the battery haha.
I'm sure there is a dissasembley guide somewhere on youtube. I'm not much of a guide guy I just like taking things apart so I couldn't tell you. if search ebay or amazon you'll be able to find the speaker I'm sure. if either of you are having trouble pm me and ill walk you through it, @ work now so I don't have time to write up a full guide, only tools needed will be a t5 and small phillips

Ok thanks!
I did a quick Google search and i found this:
http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-t-mobile-g2-earpiece-speaker-replacement.html
It a replacement part with tools and instructions.. i've never heard of the website so i'm kind of skeptical about it. Idk if its safe or not to buy..
Hi all, got my nexus 4 yesterday through O2 yesterday and started using it today, first impressions are it is a brilliant phone, much better than the s3 of mine which after updating to 4.1 became very slow among other things!
Anyway the purpose of this thread is to find out if you guys have the same 'problem' as me! Basically when I shake the handset I can hear something moving inside the earpiece, this don't sound normal to me but if it is a regular thing then ok, but if not I'm going back to O2 tomorrow.
So, does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Same here mate.. I didn't noticed that until now. I hope it will not cause me any hearing problems..:what:

Doesn't really bother me (yet) but don't want it to turn into a problem!
It should be definitely ok, let's hope this will be the only problem with the handset. So far I am impressed. I need to be carefull and not to drop it.

i'm going to take my old vibrant and make a game/media player for my son. was wondering if anyone had any ideas
on best rom to use. put an old version of helly belly on there right now, but just need a good solid stable rom
for him. we're not putting in a sim card so also checking to see if anyone's made a rom that removes cell phone "stuff", seems like i remember seeing people talking about doing something like that here, but not sure if it ever actually happened. rom doesn't have to be jelly bean based. thanks
i think the best rom is Remics!
Kinda new here.. Have a CM10 on my phone.. But looking for a replacement.... And if someone could guide me to the flashing stock sh*t... I'll be thankful

If you don't have a sim just turn on airplane mode then wifi that will turn off all the phone stuff and save a ton of battery life. Also let you use any ROM you like.

I've been using the MIUI from Jrongi for a couple of weeks now on my media only Vibrant. It works well, but I have a small problem with audio output. Even with it turned up all the way with DSP Manager, it's still quiet on the headphones. Ideas?

Mods please do not close this thread it is needed ..4.2.2 discussion is more about how to get the update nobody is discussing the differences in Rom or firmware...
I noticed a few changes since flashing firmware such as my battery life is improved and captive lights are on while charging the phone when off...I noticed that my in call volume is not as loud as b4...

That's not true. That thread is flooded by "how to flash my phone", "how to change mid/cid", "OTA", "RUU", and "how to do stock recovery", etc.
Not really focusing on any new features/changes regarding 4.2.2.
