i'm going to take my old vibrant and make a game/media player for my son. was wondering if anyone had any ideas
on best rom to use. put an old version of helly belly on there right now, but just need a good solid stable rom
for him. we're not putting in a sim card so also checking to see if anyone's made a rom that removes cell phone "stuff", seems like i remember seeing people talking about doing something like that here, but not sure if it ever actually happened. rom doesn't have to be jelly bean based. thanks

i think the best rom is Remics!

Kinda new here.. Have a CM10 on my phone.. But looking for a replacement.... And if someone could guide me to the flashing stock sh*t... I'll be thankful

If you don't have a sim just turn on airplane mode then wifi that will turn off all the phone stuff and save a ton of battery life. Also let you use any ROM you like.

There's plenty of guides just read, but if you are on cm10 all you need is to wipe and flash.

I vote for pacman ROM. Stable and highly customizable. Used to use helly as well with great results

I've been using the MIUI from Jrongi for a couple of weeks now on my media only Vibrant. It works well, but I have a small problem with audio output. Even with it turned up all the way with DSP Manager, it's still quiet on the headphones. Ideas?

Android 4.0.1 ICS Build for Samsung Fascinate Hands-On Video (Via Rootzwiki)

Tada! JT1134 did it! A magnificent build if there ever was one. Definitely my daily driver for now. Till CM9 comes out. LOL. Let's get jt1134 on Engadget or The Verge. I saw a stupid half baked build for the GSM Galaxy S and its nowhere NEAR as functional as this one. AWESOME!!!! Just thought I'd share.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu6H22hLtGY
Yeah, I'm really proud at what JT has accomplished in such a short amount of time. He deserves any attention he gets from tech websites, I just hope he appreciates it and that he isn't one to shy away from the "lights and cameras."

very cool.. I got it installed. only thing missing that I really like is a T9 dialer stock and Swype... Give it some time playing with it for a full eval.. setup was a little wierd kept duplicating some screens just had to go through it.
I totally agree. The fascinate is always overlooked in the android community and I've seen engadget stories on builds for lg that don't even have 3g running yet we have a rom that's at least 80% fully functional and no mentions other then Droid life which nobody visits anyway.

CyanogenMOD7 is now official.
Congrats to all the devs who made this possible with their tons of hours of labor put in.
When the thread's op gets updated we should all vote to have it submitted to the portal, as this is truly an amazing development.
The devs had to literally develop a way to change the entire filesystem and partition map on our phones safely and effectively not to mention several other crazy issues.

I tried, but liked vodoo better, as this mod permanently increased some bass effect, with vodoo you can control it. But to most people it won't matter, as it works good enough without tinkering anything.
I use them together and I can notice a more clarity and bass. Of course I have a pair of $200 DJ headphones so maybe that helps
Also this isn't a port and doesn't belong in development. Thanks for posting it though, we follow the rules strictly over in the Captivate forums too.

It seems that the original link is gone, but I found this in the Epic 4G threads and wanted to give it a try. It's suppose to work for any Gingerbread rom, but I'm running ICS. I listened to a music track before flashing and then flashed the zip and it seems to sound clearer. It might be just a placebo.
If anyone wants to try this and see if it works, please see the attached flashable zip.
I don't take credit for this; but feel free to thank me if you like this.

Something that all of you NEED to know. Hashcode, dhacker29, and epinter have done ALL of the work to make ANY AOSP build possible. ALL credit goes to those guys for what they've done. My intentions here are not to step on toes, but to simply give users another option. Some people prefer CM, some PA, others AOKP. I fall into the AOKP category, thats why this is even here. Any way, I compiles a build for xt925 also, which I will post here. I forgot to pull the new xt926 build before I made clean so Ill have to re-build.

Any 4.4 ROMs with knock off built in that are stable? Really looking for nav bar cursers too.
I was spoiled coming from the Gnex ROM scene, and my wife's Nexus 5.
I haven't had xposed problems, but what slow down are you talking about? Open to listening.
There are plenty of roms, aospa,cm11, aosp variants...
If you ever have a chance, compare two same phones one with and one without xposed. You will see xposed adds almost a second slowdown when opening/loading apps
