Hello all,
I currently own a white I9505 and I'm interested in this charging dock: http://dx.com/p/202765. The title says it's for I9500, which, IMO, wouldn't make any difference for a charging dock... BUT it seems that the usb connector is inverted (look at picture 3) compared with the I9505's connector, so is this just an image glitch or is there a difference between I9500 and I9505 connectors?
Cheers
Strange. View this http://dx.com/p/micro-usb-data-sync...-charging-dock-for-samsung-i9500-black-207665 or other docking station.
Is the same connector of I9505.
This is one is on the right side and it also for i9500... I wish someone with a i9500 coukd confirm me this...

Well I have the original dock for the i9505 and the USB connectors are opposite of the one you showed in the first link. I think DX may have manufactured it wrongly.

I use my Note II as a modem and I'm getting really annoyed with the included USB lead falling out - it feels like looking at it too hard will cause it!
The curve of the bezel stops the lead fully engaging
happens to me too
I think it has been designed this way so that if you trip over it you are less likely to cause the note to fall off of a desk or wherever its sat.
Me too. The usb lead comes out very easily.
I thought at the begining it was broken but its good to know it is not just me...
I have problems connecting it to a philips desk clock and charger I have...

Definitely a thing to be careful of when using odin.. you do NOT want the cable to pop out mid-flash...

I've trimmed a bit of the plastic casing off the cable to make it seat better. The side that faces the same way as the screen.

same here, I bought a charging dock on ebay (£6) so it's firmly connected when synching or copying data.
Don't know whether this is intentional or bad design, looking at the overall build quality though I believe it's the former.
I must have a weird note2. The cable fits snuggly and requires a small amount of force to remove it.
Admittedly I am not using the cable supplied with the note2 (I'm using the one that came with the GS3) so maybe it is the cable.

Hi just bought a Hong Kong model i9505 S4 and noticed that there seems to be a missing nfc chip attached to the battery door. Im wondering if this is region specific or if I am missing something?
NFC isnt located on the door I think...
Sent from my Note 2 hehehe
The Chip is on the mother board and the antenna is in the battery

No unless that's what the empty cut-out on the door is for. I believe that mrm1 is correct the antenna for the nfc appears to be missing. Apologies been used to looking at my blackberry and that is where the antenna for nfc is. Quite sure the indent in the plastic is for a missing component though...

Nfc is there. That was similar in the S3 for the wireless charger which never came. Look up qi chargers on Amazon and you'll see what fits the slot.

The nfc is contained within the battery itself... Unlike every other phone on the market.
If u use a third party battery without nfc built in you lose the function altogether.

Except Galaxy S3, having NFC antenna inside battery as well.
Hey guys,
I am curious if anyone has purchased this combo and if they can confirm if the Spigen Neo Hybrid case fits the galaxy S4 with the wireless charging battery cover, or does it become so bulky that the case doesnt fit over it?
If anyone can confirm this, that would be great!
I have the dante red neo hybrid and and does not fit with the official Samsung wireless charging kit, but it does fit with the $15 wireless charging insert that goes inside the battery cover.

Accessories forum has thread about what cases fit with that back.

Would be nice if people posted some detailed pictures showing the fitment...
Just went from an S3 to S4 and have a bunch of leftover accessories. Is it safe to charge the S4 with the S3 cables and docking station? I have the EZOPower docking station and it only seemed to connect okay, but not perfect. Not sure if it will fit better with a case.
Just want to make sure there is no harm in using the S3 cables on the S4, i.e. is the S4 and S3 USB port identical?

If you can plug it in then yes, shouldn't be a problem. Just check the output and voltage of the 2 chargers is the same (e.g. 5V 1A). As for the docking station, my S4 hasn't arrived yet and I have seen an S3 briefly but I would think that you probably need to get some kind of adapter or chop it a bit, hope this helps

Using S3 cable for S4 is OK but not the charger. Cause S3 charger is 5V-1A when S4 charger is 5V-2A. Using S3 charger for your S4 will take much more time to fill the battery, that's all, no harm. But never use S4 charger for S3, it will cause problem to S3 battery, touchscreen...
The same for docking station, it will be ok if you use S4 charger for that dock

I don't know what you mean. I've used my father S3 cable few times and it completely fit on my S4, I also used cables from Galaxy Nexus and even Palm Pre, no problem
Agree with this. S3 charger on s4 is fine but slow. The other way round will damage the phone.

Yes, it fits, but look at the two side by side and you will see one is clearly bigger than the other.

S4 charger will damage your s3 & in s4 s3 charger works but take long to charge and drys fast because of low ampere

So my USB port on my S4 is broken. Anyone else having problems? Anyone looked into replacing the USB Port?
Nope, not with the S4 as I haven't tripped over it yet.

Mine is a bit loose/crooked, cable won't charge unless it is lifted up a little bit. I'm sure you can find a replacement for cheap. Try YouTube for a video tutorial.

Found a replacement and replaced it. However now it wont charge the battery. It can connect to the computer, even shows the lightening bolt, but when i check the battery it says not charging. Anyone know what this might be?
Case of job poorly done?
Maybe the wiring is not properly connected. Or if it's a cheap usb, then it might cause problems.
