Hi,
I'm looking for a good car mount for my device. I need to be able to attach it the the AC vent and to rotate it 360 degrees.
After searching a lot I found:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxmo-Car-M...1731?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5d3eaaae93
I found many others of course, but they are cheap and they don't seem to be good quality. For example, this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Air-Ven...6215?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5d3e515577
I want your opinion, do you think anyone of them is good?
Also, I know of clingo:
http://www.clingo.com/car-mounts/universal-vent-mount
This basically holds your phone with some kind magnet (don't think its really a magnet, don't know what it is), but I'm afraid it will somehow ruin the back of my phone (even though I put a case on, I'm very very fanatic about my Nexus. Very).
Is there anyone here who has ever tried it and can give me an opinion?
Thanks!
Anyone?

I am totaly happy with my brodit holder. It is a car specifc car mount which combines with a device specific clip. I bought the mount once and now I am with my 3rd device changing only the clip and its perfect.
What do you mean changing the clip? And can this holder hold the Nexus even when it has a case? I'm using the rinkge fusion.

The holder has two components. One, the holder, attaches to the car, different models for different cars or even the place in your car you want to mount it.And the other, the clip, is specific to the device you have, i.e different devices different clips. So if you change your device you just have to buy a new clip not the whole set.
And No saddly but no, you can't use the Nexus 4 or any other device while in a case.
i use this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mountek-iPh...2334?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item232506ddbe
i don't use my CD player because i use my aux in from my phone
plus, when i had a window-mount for my nexus s, on very hot or very cold days it would fall off the window... and i'm not willing to see my nexus 4 fall off the window and explode on impact
Strra can I use it with a case on the nexus?
that's very important to me

Hi,
I just bought the item I posted in the OP:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxmo-Car-M...1731?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5d3eaaae93
Is it possible I would have problems with this if the Nexus is in a case?
Thanks!
Try this one. It's very solid and easy to use.

yeah, it's plenty big enough to hold the nexus with a case. i use it with my bumper with no issues. i believe it says it's even big enough to hold a note2 with a case, if that gives you any idea

so i got a mini bluetooth keyboard but i dunno how to clip it on without resorting to taping the thing to the bottom,,, anyone know of a decent solution
? i saw that gameklip thing for a ps3 controller but hoping theres something similar for a keyboard or other things

Which keyboard did you buy?
And I'm pretty sure there was a post in this forum where someone was able to get a case with a qwerty slider meant for a gs3 and with a little bit of effort on his part, was able to get the N4 to fit

My wife's N7 has a smart case on it but it doesn't wake up when you open the case or sleep when you shut it. If I put my N7 in her case it works as it should. I have moved the magnet around a little bit to see if that might help but it doesn't. I searched the settings for any way to toggle something like that on/off but couldn't see anything that would. Any ideas on what it could be?
Thanks
Could be a hardware issue. If your Nexus does it correctly with the same case.
To be sure, get a random magnet from your house, and just find the point on the device that locks yours.
Then, try the same place on your wife's nexus, if the same magnet doesn't work for your Wife's device, im inclined to say its hardware.
There is an app called AndroSensor that will show you if your magnetic sensor is working. Compare your two units.

Both WiFi N7
Here in Pakistan. I'm going to buy a 2nd hand/used Nexus 4. obviously the display, screen etc won't be NEW. But what do I have to look out the MOST for getting it. How to check :-
If the Screen is not replaced? (Touch responsiveness etc)
Battery ingenuine or heavily tampered
If the display is bad or put to bad use?
What you should do is get the cheapest one you can find and make sure it is covered under warranty. Then call google, tell them you got your nexus as a gift and it is not working right, and they will send you a new one. My friend did this and it worked flawlessly.

The first thing you should look out for is whether the device is legit or not. You can do this by looking at the model number on the box. You can also check the kernel, model number, baseband, android version, etc via the phone's settings. All current nexus 4s should run android 4.2.2. To check the internal hardware, I would run a benchmark. If the benchmark score is close or higher than the one listed, then the device should be legitimate. As for the screen, look around the bezel for imperfections and signs of damage. The screen should be black when off, not gray or greenish. However, not as black as the actually bezels and chins. Play around with it, if its genuine it should be responsive.
Lastly, for the battery, you should try charging the device and if the device becomes warm or too hot the battery may have been changed with the wrong MaH and can be aftermarket, possibly able to do damage to your device. If it isn't hot during charging, ask to try out the phone and play games. If the battery life is acceptable, go for it.
Keep in mind that the nexus 4 tends to get hot when running intensive apps. This is normal. Try out the call quality and reception the device could have a damaged radio or speaker and such. Hope this helps.

So my wife dropped her phone...screen isn't cracked, I've got her using my old note 4 for now, but wanted opinions on what is going on and whether I can fix it or not.
Thanks!

The display ribbon cable might have gotten dislodged. Google ifixit. There should be a guide on how to open the device. See if you can re-attach the ribbon cable.

Cool, that's what I was thinking too, I'll give it a shot.

I had something similar happen. OLED screens can have this "bleeding" effect when dropped. Mine started off fine after a drop and progressed to unusable like that. I ordered a repair kit and a screen with frame and did the replacement myself. Just look on Amazon and make sure you get one that says it's made for our model: the frames are slightly different and the cable to connect the buttons near the bottom of the screen connects to a different place on the strip on the side. These words make more sense looking at the inside of the phone ;P
Trying to find an s pen in a tight spot, anyone asks to test if it can be picked up with a magnet? It seemed mostly plastic but hoping..

I think it should work. Just tested.
The back of the pen is slightly attracted, but the tip really attracts.
So, if you can, aim for the tip
thanks for the info. I dropped the phone in car in such a way the pen rocket propelled inside A/C duct. I was hoping to fish the pen out of the inside of A/C duct in car. Ended up opening up the dash and still not locating it. First world problems.
