Do you have GPS and Bluetooth on? How about your social network sync times?
7 hours and down to 10%!!!
All my apps are set to manual sync and everythings turned off
Just been browsing and tapatalk wtf

You have some kind of problem this is not normal. Today was a very light day for me on use but still after over 14 hours at 60%. And that included over 1 hour of calls.
Toggle airplane mode for a few seconds and plug in briefly. Check the battery manager after a few minutes and see what cell standby is at. It should be less than 10%
You should be getting around 24 hours of normal use out of the battery

Wow, what settings are yours on to get 24 hrs? Is it best to have it on smart mode or battery saver mode. I thought it would be battery saver mode and that what i have mine set on.
Also, does anyone know if beautiful widgets drain the battery? It was a complain on one of the comments on the market but i dont know if an update fixed it.
6 hours and im down to 75%... Just tapatalk a little youtube and some surfing.

Are you consistently browsing the web for 2 hours? And what is your screen brightness?

i have been browsing so many different forums for the past 2 weeks and trying to see if anyone talked about specific things with the battery so i figured heres a good thread to ask my question......i got another battery sent to me from verizon and it seems to be doing a little better than the first one....i know all about not using task killers and i have no widgets at all...gps is off...screen brightness is almost all the way down....my phone will last anywhere from 5-6 hours all the way up to 30 hours.....i mainly use the X as a device...not ever really on the phone...so when i go into battery use and click on display it shows me how long the display has been on total....so i figure the time shown there is pretty much how long my battery lasts because when im doing anything with the phone the screen is on.....i think the longest i have gotten has been a total of 4 hours with the screen on...if i unplug my phone with a full charge and use it a lot it will be dead in about 5 hours...with the screen being on for 4 of those hours....if i spead out the usage i can get 30 hours on a charge but it is still only 4 hours with the display actually on....sry if thats all confusing just trying to see if thats normal...a lot of people talk about heavy usage but they never say how long the display as been on...so let me know the total your display can be on for average on a full charge....thanks a lot
when I browsed for like 4 hours (screen on 4 hours) my batteyr would go down to around 30%
I havent tested with froyo yet
I referenced this in another thread about battery life (as someone else posted earlier) but it happened to me again when I updated to Froyo. Battery life was draining fast. Look at Cell standby. If it says 50% you need to toggle airplane mode and possibly reboot. Then refresh your stats. I did that again after updating to Froyo, now 8 hours after charge I am at 70%. Wifi, Bluetooth, gps on, Screen set to auto, etc.
Check that Cell Standby.
I was having a similar problem to this until I read a thread about recalibrating your battery.
While your phone is on, charge the battery all the way to full.
Unplug your phone, turn it off, and recharge it back to full.
Unplug it again and boot the phone
Once it fully boots, turn it off, plug it back in, and charge to full.
Unplug the phone, boot into recovery, and clear the cache.
Boot back into the phone normally and see how it works.
I did this earlier in the morning. Right now I'm at 70% with 8.5hr use.
I thought this only worked for htc devices
Also, I tried it and after you charge to full while on, you unplug it and turn it off and then plug it back in while off, nothing happens..light doesn't come on and neither does the CHARGING screen you see when you plug it in after batt dies...
So how did u get the trick to work after u fully charged it while on? Did your charging screen come on when you plugged it in while off?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
I did the recalibration trick. Still crappy battery. I'm down to about 40 percent after about 4 hours.

Hi guys, last night I charged my battery to 100% before I slept to check the battery drain in sleep.
After ~7 hours of sleep, my indicator was showing 80%.
Spare showed that sensor usage by android system was equal to the phone sleep time. Its been 20 mins since I'm using my phone, and the sensor usage is still going on. Looks like some sensor got enabled n is not getting disabled.
My brightness is set to 0, n not at auto.

You can use Nightmode Battery Saver.

That mode is only for data sync. Not for sensor usage.
I have data sync on two gmail accounts all time. Captivate used to have like 1% per ~2 hours sleep time. So I think something else is in here.

There might be an issue with kernel or rom too. A similar bug was present in the gallery app supplied by Samsung on captivate where the sensor won't turn off until reboot

after almost 5 hours my battey is at 26% surley thats not right? anything i can do? Ive used my phonecas i would on gingerbread. Battery life is terrible
When you charge the phone before unplugging it unlock the phone, if you don't do that the phone will not go to deep sleep state, so it will drain battery because CPU is alles the time at 200MHz

What does it do'? 200mhz utilization doing what? I wonder.

The OS needs to settle a bit, and if you did not flash at 100% your battery needs to be recalibrated which it does on its own. Drain it to 1% and charge it up to full, leaving it on there an extra hour past it saying "Charged"
Also, freeze some of the Sammy bloat
with moderated usage i managed to get i would say 14 hours till i got to 20%
seems fine runs smooth but i tweaked after that seems there is an improvement.

This is for ICS only or also for gingerbread.
So when I unplug the charger, I should first unlock the phone, and then unplug the charger?

200 is the lowest frequency that the CPU can go. The range of the CPU is 200-1400. And if the phone isn't used at all it goes to deep sleep state. So when you charge your phone till you unplug the cable it is at the 200 even the screen is black and it has no other background operation. Some how they say that when you unplug the charge cable without unlocking the phone the phone thinks it is still plugged and doesn't let the phone go to deep sleep.
Solutions: restart phone or plug it wake it up and unplug it.

So just make sure you unplug the charger once you've unlocked/waked-up the phone ?.

Please check if you have any wakelocks and also make sure that your Note acctually goes into Deep Sleep when not in use.
To check if your Note goes to Deep Sleep use:
"CPU Spy" from Google Play
To check if there are wakelocks holding your phone from getting into Deep Sleep use:
"BetterBatteryStats" - also on Google Play
Good Luck !
This might be helpful
Hey, I have the battery drain issue... I installed the BetterBatteryStats and it said that the AudioOut_1 was a partial wakelock. I found on Google that the solution was go to > Settings > Sound and Uncheck this options:
"Keytones"
"Touch sounds"
"Screen lock sound"
I have just did this, so I'm waiting to see if it works..
Sorry for my english!

To know for sure if that is the core problem you also have to interpret the numbers that BBS gives you. How many wakelocks and for how long, that considered with how long the measurment was will tell you if that is the problem.
I wouldn't say that battery life is bad.
I was on stock LC1 Open Germany (DBT) before upgrading to ICS via KIES. When i updated my note my battery was at 60%. After the upgrade finished, i lost 2% battery. Not bad at all.
I took the extra time to Factory Reset the device after ICS installation finished and downloaded every app i had again. I noticed that the Note was getting significantly more hot and was barely charging via the the PC which is to be expected, since i was on wifi downloading large files required by games such as GTA 3, riptide gp, asphalt 6 etc and the screen was on the entire time.
Right after i completed customizing the phone's and all the app settings, i charged the phone to 100% using the wall plug. Then i noticed bad battery life. The first 25% was discharged in 30 minutes.
What i did was to let the phone shut itself down, remove and reinsert the battery and charged it while it was closed till 100%. The results speak for themselves
Phone sleeps properly, i have 4 hours and 48 mins of screen on, 56 minutes of browsing on wifi, 42 minutes of music, 15 minutes calls and it currently has 10% left.
Did you charge it with the phone on or off ?. I guess it should be on. Correct ?
Played muffin knight and riptide gp for a bit. Also had a few phone calls that amounted to about 35 minutes and a good amount of web browsing. Battery seems to be draining nicely over here.

If you ask me, firstly i charged it on, then let it shut itself down, reinserted the battery and charged it while off.
Use CPU spy to check your phone is going into deep sleep
ok this is my stats. thanks for you help. what do i have to do now?
As you cn see from your screen shot
You have deep sleep as unused state
So its not going into deep sleep mode at all
I had this yesterday but rebooted my note and it went back to normal
Before i read about switching screen on before unplugging from charge Which is this mornings test
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
brilliant, thanks for your help, so what im looking for is for the phone to be in "deep sleep" il keep a check of this throughout the day
is a simple reboot the answer?
So I have the AT&T version of this device it's very nice and I love it ! But my device charged to 100% at 10pm or so Thursday night so I unplugged it and let it set while I slept away! Wifi was on and so was mobile data , long story short I woke up and my phone was at 69% and all wake locks were fine and battery info said device idle was main culprit? So has anyone else seen this and know how to make it stay a little closer to the 90% radius? This is way to much to drain on idle ?

Another user mentioned to disable 'Location Reporting', and that has lowered my battery consumption both awake and idle.
Try juice defender, also if you have ktoonsez kernel set the governor to ktoonservitive.

Yea I may have to throw a rom on its stock still i guess its time

you can stay on stock, just flash the kernel and set the governor.
Very true thanksnfor heads up this loki stuff is good but makes meh brain hurt lol

mine does the same thing. i lose about 30% a night
i dont get much idle battery drain at all. sounds like you have a troublesome app.

nope, happens like that from stock. It almost seems like my battery lasts longer during the day with slight use then it does @ night believe it or not.
Yep mine to exactly the same I am going to try again tonight with some things changed and I just got update yesterday too maybe it was that
I am running SHOstock ROM and it only drained ~.5% per hour last night.
Lol I did a reboot and its been perfect no must have been something hanging

Put it on airplane mode if you're going to leave it unplugged overnight and are concerned about battery loss
Same thing happened with my phone last night for the first time device idle came up. Phone was in airplane mode, wifi off. One thing that could trigger it is that I've used my phone as a hard drive before laying it off for the night.
Hi Guys,
I have a problem that happens to my OPT over and over again.
At night the battery drain is crazy! i was charging the phone and go to sleep with 100%, and in the next morning it was 91%.
I saw a guide that says to delete the cache of the phone but it was helping but only for a while .
I cant flash a ROM into my OPT cause i still have Manufacturer Warranty.
Please tell me if there is an other solution for this
Thanks,
Afik
Same thing Happened on my phone too..
same here
but thers some battery calibration issue from what i know
so it should not affect your SOT or your use-time
Did you turn on Airplane Mode? If not 9% through a nicht with aprox. 8 hours is pretty damn good. For more advice pls post Screenshots and log of Better Battery Stats.
If you unplugged the phone it's a nice standby drain.
Plugged in??? Faulty cable or charger
Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
A drain of 1,125%/h is pretty good? 9% over 8 hours?
Hi,
It should not be like that especially with this huge battery capacity, during the night i never charge my phone it always stay next to my bad without connected to my charger, and my Airplane Mode is always off.
Only my WiFi is on during the night,it sometimes its drain only 5% and sometimes more than 5%, the last oxygen is sucks the version before was better.....
1-2% per Hour is pretty good. Trust me. If you want to take a deeper look in what causrs your "drain" look into Better Battery Stats and post some screenshots. A bit more Input would be nice too. Which Kernel do you use with which Settings? Xposed or not?
Unplugged state idle drain between 1-2% untouched stock rom is very good.
Also is normal for my phone to sometimes stays longer at 100% once unplugged.
