You have some kind of problem this is not normal. Today was a very light day for me on use but still after over 14 hours at 60%. And that included over 1 hour of calls.

Toggle airplane mode for a few seconds and plug in briefly. Check the battery manager after a few minutes and see what cell standby is at. It should be less than 10%
You should be getting around 24 hours of normal use out of the battery

Wow, what settings are yours on to get 24 hrs? Is it best to have it on smart mode or battery saver mode. I thought it would be battery saver mode and that what i have mine set on.
Also, does anyone know if beautiful widgets drain the battery? It was a complain on one of the comments on the market but i dont know if an update fixed it.

i have been browsing so many different forums for the past 2 weeks and trying to see if anyone talked about specific things with the battery so i figured heres a good thread to ask my question......i got another battery sent to me from verizon and it seems to be doing a little better than the first one....i know all about not using task killers and i have no widgets at all...gps is off...screen brightness is almost all the way down....my phone will last anywhere from 5-6 hours all the way up to 30 hours.....i mainly use the X as a device...not ever really on the phone...so when i go into battery use and click on display it shows me how long the display has been on total....so i figure the time shown there is pretty much how long my battery lasts because when im doing anything with the phone the screen is on.....i think the longest i have gotten has been a total of 4 hours with the screen on...if i unplug my phone with a full charge and use it a lot it will be dead in about 5 hours...with the screen being on for 4 of those hours....if i spead out the usage i can get 30 hours on a charge but it is still only 4 hours with the display actually on....sry if thats all confusing just trying to see if thats normal...a lot of people talk about heavy usage but they never say how long the display as been on...so let me know the total your display can be on for average on a full charge....thanks a lot

when I browsed for like 4 hours (screen on 4 hours) my batteyr would go down to around 30%
I havent tested with froyo yet

I referenced this in another thread about battery life (as someone else posted earlier) but it happened to me again when I updated to Froyo. Battery life was draining fast. Look at Cell standby. If it says 50% you need to toggle airplane mode and possibly reboot. Then refresh your stats. I did that again after updating to Froyo, now 8 hours after charge I am at 70%. Wifi, Bluetooth, gps on, Screen set to auto, etc.
Check that Cell Standby.

I was having a similar problem to this until I read a thread about recalibrating your battery.
While your phone is on, charge the battery all the way to full.
Unplug your phone, turn it off, and recharge it back to full.
Unplug it again and boot the phone
Once it fully boots, turn it off, plug it back in, and charge to full.
Unplug the phone, boot into recovery, and clear the cache.
Boot back into the phone normally and see how it works.
I did this earlier in the morning. Right now I'm at 70% with 8.5hr use.

I thought this only worked for htc devices
Also, I tried it and after you charge to full while on, you unplug it and turn it off and then plug it back in while off, nothing happens..light doesn't come on and neither does the CHARGING screen you see when you plug it in after batt dies...
So how did u get the trick to work after u fully charged it while on? Did your charging screen come on when you plugged it in while off?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

I did the recalibration trick. Still crappy battery. I'm down to about 40 percent after about 4 hours.

[Q] Talking on phone kills battery life

So ive had my phone for a couple months, and im not a big talker so i havent made many phone calls. today was probably my longest amount of time talking at ~30 minutess. 13 hours since my phone was plugged in i am at 10%. 41% of battery use was from voice calls! How can 30 minutes of talk time be 41% of a 13 hour battery life? what can i do?
Do you use headset? Bluetooth? Nothing? Check proximity sensor.
i do use bluetooth occasionally, but not on this day. brightness was at 0% all day.

What phone is it? Use task manager ( exactly that name )and see what's running on your phone, you should auto kill memory hogs. If you have social apps or news widgets they constantly need updates from online, especially widgets. I doubt your call drained that much it was probably a combination of sorts. So again what device are you using?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
ive noticed phone eats alot of my battery as well .. screen stays off for majority of call so idk what causes it . . . . was this thread moved from a dif sub forum ?
There is a way to refresh your battery life, I learned with my g1, drain the battery until it turns off, then charge fully while its turned off assume it takes an hour to charge, give it two hours, or over night, do this twice in a row, that's a refreshed battery. If you can't charge whilst off, then sorry.

Extended battery pack?

Yeah so I burn through my battery in 6 hours... people say that it can last 24 with heavy usage. But that's total BS. So is there an extended battery pack that I could get?

You should consider rooting it and running GreyBlur. I was running through the battery like crazy, actually got AT&T to swap for another Atrix and still had the same problems. GreyBlur really improved my battery life and I'm able to get through a day of medium usage and still have about ~40% when I plug it in at night.
So if im going through the battery fast that means it could be a problem with the battery?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App

there is a 5000 milli amp battery for the atrix. i get 10 hours on 1930 so by simple math, this should get
24.8 hours

I have two numbers on my battery uptime 23.5 hrs and since unplugged 13.5 hrs! What's the difference don't no but def best battery in a phone I've ever owned under heavy use considering all the stuff you can do with this thing amazing

I have a celltronix universal portable power pack. (4000mAh)
Has two USB ports to charge stuff, comes with multi tips to charge stuff, but I just use the usb cord that came with my atrix. Outputs 5v, charges in about 4 hours.
I don't use it much on my atrix, but I have before, just plug it into the usb port and recharges my phone, can get almost 2 full recharges out of it for the atrix.
I like it cause I can also use it to charge other items also! Used it for my iphone 3gs before I got the atrix.
You can charge power pack from wall, car, or comp usb.(mini-usb plugin to charge it.
Just google "celltronix universal portable power pack" it will pop up on a number of sites. ( I bought mine in a truck stop)
You burn through it because you have a defective product.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Yea, burning through it in 6 hours means you definitely have a bad battery. GreyBlur destroyed my battery life though, not exactly sure why it increased some peoples' but decreased others.
I had greyblur loaded once then went into recovery wiped everything then installed again first time battery barely made it to 4-5 pm when I went to for at 8 now 13+ hrs unplugged at 9am made it till 12:30am id say that's awesome. U probably got bad battery get couple new ones from what I hear they r cheap. Every phone is different t as far as battery and speed like my battery is awesome but when I run the graphic test I get 2300-2500 scores when I see others getting 2600-2800+
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Ok. So i'll go to the AT&T Store and what should I say so that theyll give me a new one? They are hardass's and I need to convince them, any help on that part?
Don't lie. Tell them you think the battery life has been unsatisfactory. And with a battery that big you should be able to get better than 6 hours.
I burn through my battery pretty quick too though. Today it was dead around 6 hours (11-5) charged and now near death again. But I don't have a screen timeout, notifications on, downloading podcasts on listen(listening to them on speaker), everything on 3G. I don't care what phone you have, that's killing the battery. Its hard to make a battery last on a lazy Sunday.

When you charge the phone before unplugging it unlock the phone, if you don't do that the phone will not go to deep sleep state, so it will drain battery because CPU is alles the time at 200MHz

The OS needs to settle a bit, and if you did not flash at 100% your battery needs to be recalibrated which it does on its own. Drain it to 1% and charge it up to full, leaving it on there an extra hour past it saying "Charged"
Also, freeze some of the Sammy bloat
with moderated usage i managed to get i would say 14 hours till i got to 20%
seems fine runs smooth but i tweaked after that seems there is an improvement.

200 is the lowest frequency that the CPU can go. The range of the CPU is 200-1400. And if the phone isn't used at all it goes to deep sleep state. So when you charge your phone till you unplug the cable it is at the 200 even the screen is black and it has no other background operation. Some how they say that when you unplug the charge cable without unlocking the phone the phone thinks it is still plugged and doesn't let the phone go to deep sleep.
Solutions: restart phone or plug it wake it up and unplug it.

Please check if you have any wakelocks and also make sure that your Note acctually goes into Deep Sleep when not in use.
To check if your Note goes to Deep Sleep use:
"CPU Spy" from Google Play
To check if there are wakelocks holding your phone from getting into Deep Sleep use:
"BetterBatteryStats" - also on Google Play
Good Luck !
This might be helpful
Hey, I have the battery drain issue... I installed the BetterBatteryStats and it said that the AudioOut_1 was a partial wakelock. I found on Google that the solution was go to > Settings > Sound and Uncheck this options:
"Keytones"
"Touch sounds"
"Screen lock sound"
I have just did this, so I'm waiting to see if it works..
Sorry for my english!

To know for sure if that is the core problem you also have to interpret the numbers that BBS gives you. How many wakelocks and for how long, that considered with how long the measurment was will tell you if that is the problem.
I wouldn't say that battery life is bad.
I was on stock LC1 Open Germany (DBT) before upgrading to ICS via KIES. When i updated my note my battery was at 60%. After the upgrade finished, i lost 2% battery. Not bad at all.
I took the extra time to Factory Reset the device after ICS installation finished and downloaded every app i had again. I noticed that the Note was getting significantly more hot and was barely charging via the the PC which is to be expected, since i was on wifi downloading large files required by games such as GTA 3, riptide gp, asphalt 6 etc and the screen was on the entire time.
Right after i completed customizing the phone's and all the app settings, i charged the phone to 100% using the wall plug. Then i noticed bad battery life. The first 25% was discharged in 30 minutes.
What i did was to let the phone shut itself down, remove and reinsert the battery and charged it while it was closed till 100%. The results speak for themselves
Phone sleeps properly, i have 4 hours and 48 mins of screen on, 56 minutes of browsing on wifi, 42 minutes of music, 15 minutes calls and it currently has 10% left.
Did you charge it with the phone on or off ?. I guess it should be on. Correct ?
Played muffin knight and riptide gp for a bit. Also had a few phone calls that amounted to about 35 minutes and a good amount of web browsing. Battery seems to be draining nicely over here.

ok this is my stats. thanks for you help. what do i have to do now?
As you cn see from your screen shot
You have deep sleep as unused state
So its not going into deep sleep mode at all

Battery Life Worry/Question

My battery life has been pretty good. However, the number one thing consistently using battery is "Android System". Is this normal? Thanks!
Same here. On all my other Android phones Screen is the top user.
U are using ips technology on the screen unlike amold that saamy used which kills the battery in hours in full brightness . As you could see that the iPhone has good batttery life because the 720p ips screen.

I've found that rebooting the phone after taking it off of charge, the battery life is awesome. There seem to be some wakelocks that kill the battery and for some reason, charging has something to do with it.
I don't know if this is why, but I heard the G2 has special screen technology that greatly reduces battery drain.

Yeah, somthing about 30% lower battery use or something like that. It's 6 hours since I took mine off the charger, must admit very moderate use, some toying, some photos, some mails and 1 phone call. but still, my phone is at 96% battery. My old S2 would be at 60% at this point.

I tried this and it worked. However, one instance is not proof I guess haha. I will experiment more tomorrow (namely, not rebooting after charging) and let you know what I find. I wonder what specifically about charging may cause wakelocks?
Over 48 hours of use, more than 50% battery left. 3,5 hours screen time. Android system worst offender with 35%, screen 2nd with 25%.
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk 4
If you look at the programs listed under Android System, try uninstalling the ones that you would never use. This has seemed to help me. But to be honest it was kind of unnessary because the battery life is just crazy badass. In a few weeks or so when the devs have there way this phone is going to be epic.
It is two things, which by the way are great news.
A) LG's screen tech which doesn't refresh pixels when the images are static
and B) IPS
What we can't control is screen power consumption, but guess what? We can control android system consumption through kernels and roms. This means that we can *hopefully* expect EVEN BETTER! battery life since the screen is, for 80% of users, the main culprit for energy drain.
Just a quick note that flashing CleanROM on my ATT LG G2 basically took my battery life from <20% at the end of the workday to just under 80% at the end of the work day with increased use on the CleanROM install. Highly recommended.
Been off the charger since 6:50 this morning. Sitting here at work doing some texting, Words With Friends, and a test call for a co-worker...96% at 12:15pm. My Nexus would have been at 40% by now.
So is Android System different from Android OS?
I normally can squeeze out 15-22 hours since installing Snapdragon Battery Guru. Which has been working great until today.
Here's my situation today:
-100% charge at around 1230am. Light to moderate usage leaves me with
-77% between night before and waking up (only dropped like 2% overnight) at
-830, then i worked from 9 to 1230 so i didnt use my phone too much. But since ive been off work ive been using it more so im not too surprised about my low battery level currently.
But what concerns me is Android OS using half my battery! It says its been active for more than 4 hours and i dont understand where it comes from. Its way more than my screen usage even with a screen time of little over 3 hours.
Anyone know whats up with Android OS? It doesnt tell me what is running when i select it so im lost.
Also ive done many of the suggestions in this thread with positive results. Ive been monitoring my wakelocks and since doing some of the suggestions on here nlpcollector has actually gone down.

Just to benchmark .... I used the phone moderatley ..
I did.. a little over 50 hours of total on time
4.75 hours of on screen time,
2 hours of spotify with bluetooth for the entire time,
2 hours of MapMyRun with GPS running ..
then various text messaging and a couple phone calls
The only modifications i've made to the stop experiance is taking of google's location service for programs, but leaving GPS active .. and changing the screen to auto-brightness, baseline of 50%.
I came from the SGS2 ..... with 1 hour of on screen time and the other spotify and bluetooth .. i'd be around 10-20% after 8-10 hours !!!!!
Mines pretty awesome.

I'm not sure if my battery is defective or not. Right out of the box was around 75% and I drained it until it turned off then charged it to full.
Over the next few days at work it's on wifi and then on 3G/4G before /after work. I pull it from the charger at 7:30am and by 7pm its at 40%. Then on Friday night I unplugged it at 12am with 100% and woke up the next day with 80%. It's dropping like 1% about 10-15minutes. Would a factory reset fix the battery drain? or call for a replacement?

Poor Battery Life on my ZTE Axon 7.

I have very poor Battery Life on my new phone. Last night I factory reset the phone and at 11pm I fully charged the phone and left it in airplane mode. This morning it reported 58% by 7am this morning.
It's much worse in daytime light usage. It's flat after about 4hours.
I have noticed that the WiFi and AWAKE history graphs in battery section show WiFi always on and phone is always awake. Even when the WiFi is switched off it is always ON according to the graph. The phone is constantly warm all the time. I have contacted the UK supplier. Awaiting response.

I see no such option on the Axon 7.
This probably depends on phone manufacturer, try find menu or more in Wi-Fi options, most of Android 4/5 usually have this option, sorry I'm only potential buyer of A7

Sorry, ZTE Axon 7 doesn't have option "Scanning always available"(User Manual page 57), Older ZTE Axon it has (User Manual page 53).
There is an option to turn Wi-Fi off when asleep in the Wi-Fi advanced options menu. Might be worth trying.

This battery drain is obviously the result of a wakelock. Adjusting WiFi settings will not solve your problem.
Have you checked the 'fast battery drain apps' in power manager. Mines not liking Amazon music and the Android central app.

The first few reviews talked about amazing battery life with SOT of 6+ hrs on this phone but in my opinion it is worse than the OnePlus 3 I used for a few days. Yesterday I got just under 4 hrs of screen on time, taking my phone off the charger at 6:30am and plugging it in at 11pm with about 4% battery left. I am using GSAM Battery Monitor and Phone Radio is taking a solid 37% of my battery, is that normal? The phone does show it has a weaker signal than any of my last phones in all familiar locations but I haven't actually noticed a difference in internet speed (actually getting 40mb pretty regularly) or call quality/reception. Today I am at 63% battery with the phone being unplugged 10 hrs 47 min and only 1hr and 16 minutes of SOT. No apps stand out as using a lot of the battery with App Usage being at 1%.

What those 6+ hrs SOT stories don't tell you is that they gimp the phone ie turn off most if not all background processes such as: location, push emails, anything that has a hook to the web.
I mean I can always get 5+hour turning off all my smartphone services and just having my screen on to flipping around looking at locally stored stuff.
An average best for me is usually going to bed with 4+ hrs of SOT by midnight. @15% remaining and that was before the wake lock I mentioned above.

Yeah I was right at 4 hours SOT at 1am with the phone unplugged since 6:30am that morning and still 22% battery left, that is fine for me. I had everything on, including GPS, Bluetooth and Wifi

I see no such option on the Axon 7.

That setting is here:
Settings > Location > (menu - three dots in upper right corner) > Scanning
From here you can disable Wi-Fi Scanning and Bluetooth Scanning.
I do not know if this helps battery life though - I just now tried it myself.
Yeah I get horrible battery life too and it doesn't show any apps using alot ): , if I'm lucky I get 4hr sot

How is 4 hours horrible? 4 to 5 hours is really good battery and is a standard for any flagship device.
I don't get people that want 6 hours of screen time. Don't y'all have anything to do through the day? Spending 6 hours a day staring at a screen cant be good for anyone.

I guess I got spoiled with battery life on my old Huawei mate 8 and other phones with amazing battery.
I've been getting over 5 hours SOT pretty consistently for the past week. The battery life is way more consistent than my Nexus 6p was, and seems to last noticeably longer. I also don't worry about topping up when I get home from work if I really need to (or if I watch YouTube for 3 hours after I get home) because of how fast it charges, even if you use while charging. I'm very pleased with battery life overall.
