Is it possible to prevent the volume buttons from changing my ringer state from vibrate with a rooted I337? I'm looking for something verified, I don't want to risk study brick. Search returns nothing. I'd still like the volume buttons to work normally for apps.
Thanks

I have got T-mobile wing for few weeks and now the volume feature keeps turning down on me and that little volume window pops up. It interferes with my call and will not let me text because of it. HELP PLEASE!!!!
Even I had done Hard Reset more than once but it comes back again and again after a day or two.
Can anybody suggest any solution other than just hard reset? As i have done hard reset various times....
have you flashed a custom rom if so try reflashing it that miht do the trick, if your using the rom that came with the phone it might be a issue with your phone might have to return it and get a new one
I am using the standard rom that came with my phone, no custom roms.
Your volume button is probably slightly stuck.
But I can use the volume button to try to turn up the volume .. sometime I win and sometimes that malicious thing wins turning down the volume..
Somebody knows about how to disable that little volume popup or HOW TO DEACTIVATE THE VOLUME SLIDER in T-Mobile wing?

No easy way I can think of other than butchering the volume control altogether (by killing the dll's responsible.)
Is there a way to completely disable changing profiles (i.e. Silent and Vibrate) with volume keys? I want to use volume keys to change volume, not accidentally turn the phone the silent profile on or off.
I've checked different volume "app" replacements (like VolumeX) but they all still allow changing profiles with volume keys.

Hi all.
I find quite often I end up missing calls because the volume has accidentally dropped.
is there any way or app to lock it and ignore the button presses, and maybe re-assing to something else?
thanks
responding to myself here.
I found volume locker in the market which does that.
However, it'd be nice to be able to remap the buttons.
any ideas where to get an app for that?
I hate that feature on the X10.
Who the hell though it would be a good idea to have those buttons control the ringer volume at all times?
I have never required to toggle the volume of the ringer so often that I needed hardware keys for it. Just set it once and forget.
Sometimes I'm in the media player and because a video or song isn't playing I will accidentally turn the ringer volume up or down.
I would love to have those buttons bring up the phone's status when pressed on the standby screen ala Sony Ericsson Dumb phones.
HD2 is a masterpiece but as with all masterpieces, there are some setbacks if one of the things do not work.
I dropped my HD2 and the volume key (hard key on the left) stopped working. That means....
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL, I CAN CHANGE THE IN-CALL VOLUME!!!
The system volume and ringtone has nothing to do with it. Even if the system volume is reduced, the in-call volume (voice of the other person) remains unchanged.
Is there any way i can have a soft button or soft key or any alternate to incall volume hard button?
I am in a serious mess, so help will be REALLLLLLLYYYYYY APPPRECIATED
You can download and install Audio Manager (Free at Market) . It has a feature that allows you to change in-call volume without the need to be in a real call, unfortunately though I don't think you can change it while in call
i don't have an answer for the original question, but i would just like to advise the OP that volume keys not working is really a messed up situation because you will also be UNABLE to access bootloader or the hard reset option.
jumping to bootloader and hard reset CAN be done by booting into WinMo. there is an icon in the start menu->settings called "Clear Data" that will do hard reset. and there is a small program available somewhere (don't remember the name) that will reboot into the bootloader.
the interesting question is, what do you do if your WinMo stops being able to boot the day you need the hard reset or bootloader?
The irony is my call volume is at maximum.
Is there any way I mean ANY WAY i can reduce the call volume without the volume rocker buttons?
I mean any registry tweaks or something?
I tried the HKCU --- control panel----sounds profiles---incall volume tweak but that did not work.
I am stuck...I really need help

Hello,
I have this problem, which I see was also present on the G1 phone (but with Android 1.6). If I press the up-down buttons to modify in-call volume, the graphic bar indicator moves, but the volume stays the same.
For all other things the volume buttons are working ok.
Does anybody know if there is a fix available for this? Any workarounds? I know about the secret codes, but I want to be able to adjust the volume easily if I am in a noisy area for instance.
I am running stock firmware.
Thank you
