That's not the complete firmware. Go to sammobile.com. You'll download a zip and extract the .tar.md5 file from it. You'll flash that in Odin.

Curiously, which file you use to flash with Odin PC?
Can you show me the file?
And how did you load it into Odin?

So what is the filename you load into Odin? The whole firmware or just a modem?
Try to load only the "modem.bin" file

No no, I didnt mean to rename that big file to modem.bin.
The file you are using is a whole firmware. Try to rename it to *.TAR, then open with with WinRAR. You will see a modem.bin file inside. Extract this file (its size is only about 50MB) and flash only this file.
You guys sure you want to flash a 900W modem onto a N9005 phone?

I would try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50667360
Go to the second post in the thread. Start with step 7. You'll want to side load the update.zip through adb. To do that you'll boot into recovery and side load the update.zip file. Follow the instructions to side load only.
Edit, if that doesn't work I would Odin the mk2 files again and attempt the ota again.

It shouldn't be this hard. You have something funny with your phone. Why don't you try to Odin the mk2 files again.

Yes, that's the right file. And if odin didn't give you any errors then it flashed correctly. I'm kind of stumped right now. The nb1 update.zip you downloaded has an md5, did you check that to make sure the download was good?
EDIT, What a minute I see the problem. you need to use all 4 of the files. Put the AP file in PDA, BL in bootlaoder, CP in phone and CSC in CSC of odin.

the nb1 update zip has multiple folder including META INF, patch, recovery, and system. I cant find an md5, does that mean i have the wrong update zip?

No I ment the md5 check sum it's unique to the file and can be used to verify the file integrity. But see my edit above. That's the problem.

Help: Cant flash any zip via Odin anymore

I dont know whats going on, but Odin 3.09 suddenly stopped being able to view and add zip files to flash. Ive even tried repacking the zip into a tar format but odin crashes when it gets to the file verification stage. I did nothing to my files or Odin, and ive been using this for years without fail.
Im beginning to suspect it might be something to do with Windows (Im running 8.1) and it might have been some update that caused Odin to stop recognising zip files. Can someone help me out here? Odin is sitting useless in my computer now.

PC Odin DOESN'T flash zip files. It flashes tar or MD5 files.
Did you try unzipping the zip file?
If you are trying to flash a custom rom you need a custom recovery...
Oh yeah just realised I was flashing the wrong file all this while.. Haha thanks for reminding me.

You're opening the tar file at that point. If it says it's an invalid size or something you're extracting to far. If you download a .7z or .zip just right click it and hit extract. You should end up with a .tar or .md5. That is what you will select in Odin.
If there is power (lights, partial boot) it is not bricked. A bricked phone is completely dead. Your phone is soft-bricked.
The advice above is correct. Stop when you get to .tar and put it somewhere you know where it is to put in the PDA slot in Odin.
And please follow forum rules and post your question once and wait for an answer. Do not make more threads for the same problem. Thanks.
