I have helped several users with similar issues recently. I don't feel like going through it again. Just search. Particularly in NC Q&A.

Any, but I personally like 5.5.0.4.
Edit, but 6.0.1.2 has a bigger image, so better for CM10.1 ROMs.

Hey guys,
My new NC just arrived today, and I have a few questions.
It did NOT have the evil Blue Sticker on the box, and the serial # started with 201124. I fired it up and it said " Touch the future of Reading.
Is this the Old partitioned NC?
Lastly, I didn't let it go past the video screen- I wanted to check here first to see if it is ok to go ahead and register the device.
Will it try to upgrade the firmware and repartition the firmware if I do?
I know I can check the firmware version of my stock nook after I register it.
It should be 1.0.1 right?
I want to install cm7 on the emmc.
Thanks in advance for any info on this

Yes, yours has the old firmware/partitions. NC's preloaded with 1.2 show "Read Forever" at power-on. Updating to 1.2 will not affect the partitioning.

Hi all! i have question and a way to install ubuntu on TF
first of all can the transformer dual boot?
and then the sweet part!
no dev has managed to get ubuntu running natively on TF so heres a way to do it on top of a android OS as "chrooted" heres how to => http://androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-development/how-to-install-ubuntu-on-android/
I HAVE NOT TESTED IT! as my TF is in mail right now (should come on tuesday) but this has worked for many devices so it SHOULD work on TF too!
but then again im not responsible if your transformer transforms to a car that transforms to autobot or something like that
if this helped you remember that there is a thanx button

Yup, this has been linked and mentioned before, just in the dev section (since getting linux distros to run on a TF101 is more of a dev deal).

I'm currently on Liberty v0.1 (.588) and would like to get to .596
Can I just flash p3droid's zip over my system in order to get it? I have .12P radio and all the other requirements, but I'm wondering if being on Liberty changes that.
Also, would I need to wipe?
Edit: Actually, would it be possible to flash CM7 over my current system?
Thanks in advance

No, You will need to SBF back to Froyo 2.3.340. From there you can install CM7.

Also, I had found another post for easy SBF back to Froyo:

Thank you so much! I just wanted to confirm that I was reading that correctly. Also, I'm aware of how to SBF, I would just rather not have to go through it.
So just format system (and all of the others), mount, then install? No wipe?
Edit: Just read the second link Lofi Goosh posted. That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

there is no reason to wipe cuz doing the formats take care of that.

I downloaded rom manager but is it possible to flash clockwork mod recovery? When I check I only see one acer listed and I am not sure if it would be compatible.

Use acer recovery installer from the market. The A500 is not supported by rom manager.

rom manager vs acer recovery installer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424056
this is the thread that has been ongoing for several days to a week.. I think it just dropped off the top showing thread post this morning. It tells all about this as well as some other interesting stuff about flashing roms . what roms and everything else you would need to know to keep yourself from having a Brick.....
Flashing the acer has to be done EXACTLY RIGHT or its a worthless brick..
There is a sticky at the top..OF The page telling everyone how to search. When you start to make a new Thread it shows you recent threads on the same topic.. this helps keep the forums from being filled with the same thing repeated over and over.. There is also a Sticky thread in the DEV SECTION with common tips and Tricks for the iconia..
Please read that thread OP.. It will avoid someone being upset at you again for asking a VERY Simple solved many times Question..
Also read about rooting and issues with 3.2 bootloader if your tablet is just purchased...

I have Clockwork 6.0.1.0 as Recovery, and have installed Android 4.2, maintaining root and recovery.
Previously (4.1 and earlier), backups are stored in /sdcard/clockworkmod. In 4.2 the location has been moved. Since I can still see the new backups when I go to restore, they must be stored somewhere. Where are they now?
Thanks.
I'm having the same issue with TWRP.
You should find them under /sdcard/0/clockworkmod/backup.

there is /storage/sdcard0/clockworkmod/ folder, but thats the same as /sdcard/clockworkmod which has no backup folder.

Look through his last 2 days of posts on g+ he tells you what is going on with cwm and Rom Manager. He also, conveniently, tells you what cwm Is storing backups.

Can you spell it out for dummies like me, and just tell us where the backups are? I did go thru the Koush's posts and either I can't find the directories he mentioned, or they just have the exact contents of /sdcard/clockwordmod: i.e., the old recoveries from pre-4.2 are there, but not the ones done since 4.2.
Thanks.
And why the hell can't u just tell us? I get the whole " look before you ask" idea but this is getting silly...

Thanks for the straight answer on that, found my 4.2 backups there as well... I'm only quickly going to say, I am a far cry from a noob and this is a new issue with a new 4.2 system and a unique problem, people that withhold information that know it on something like this need not post at all... Getting attitude as if someone had asked how to boot up their device and steer them to some social site in hunt for a solution is childish... The XDA community as a whole is just awesome and it disappoints me every time seeing arrogant comments like that... Thank you for this info, had me confused just like the rest of you...

Hi
I am using Nexus 4 with PACMan ROM and Franco M3 kernel. I am not able to see the backups as well. I use the CWM recovery version that comes with Franco kernel. I went to \mnt\shell\ and i can't find the folder emulated there. I can't see the backups in \sdcard\clockworkmod also. There is only one file called .recovery_version.
Can you guys help me out?
