What?
Are you asking if you can flash i9505 firmware on to the i337?
If so answer is not until the bootloader is unlocked, then you will likely need to flash a custom i9505 ROM and everything 'should' work but it would not be guaranteed.
Short answer, not yet.
(If you have an AT&T i337 uour bootloader is locked, Canadian i337's are not)
Now that Loki has been released, would it be safe to flash a i9505 custom ROM as long as a Loki'd kernel is flashed immediately afterward?
If that is possible, would anything need to be done for the radios to work properly for mobile data 3g/4g?
Also, I found this thread by searching...it was the only thread that came up, although I thought this would be a big deal for the community being able to flash international ROM's across all devices.

The international ROMs work great as long as you flash an i337 loki'd kernel directly afterwards. The kernels and modems are incompatible, but the international ROMs are absolutely recommended to avoid the AT&T garbage (and get updates)

Radios are not included in ROMs for compatibility reasons.
The kernel needs to have loki patch applied so just grab a kernel from the AT&T threads (TW for stock or touch wiz ROMS and AOSP for CM or AOKP based ROMs.)
I'm on Wanam lite and everything works.....though I get force closes every so often (probably something I've done not the ROM's fault)

From what I have read on the forums MF3 has is suppose to patch loki and prevent custom recoveries from being installed on the phone. I am on MDL with a custom rom flashed on it and running on T-Mobile and was curious about the "benefits" if I were going to upgrade to MF3. The most interesting one to me is better cell signal... Would there be anyway to flash a hacked version of mf3 or some other baseband update? Or are the differences so minute that it doesnt really matter.

The OTA MF3 update includes a locked bootloader. This is what you don't want.
You could either flash an MF3 Rom (this won't include the locked bootloader) or just flash the MF3 modem if you want to see if it gives you a better signal.
Is there a way to do it to maintain the ability to flash asop roms?

Yes. As stated abive just flash a mf3 modem. You xan find the modem thread in the dev section. It wont change anything but your baseband so you can keep your aosp rom you have now.
If you do decide to flash a mf3 based rom you can always go back to aosp roms. Nothing will change for you as far as flashing any roms you want to. UNLESS you go back to stock and take the OTA MF3 software update. All the info you need can be found in the dev section for our device

Luckily, if you go back to stock, you will not be able to get the OTA MF3 since you are on T-Mobile's network. Unless, you had the phone or anyone had the phone activated on AT&T's network at any time in the past.

If I am on AT&T with MDL can I upgrade to 4.3 without going to MF3?

No.
However, I suggest you just install one of the 4.3 ROMS (there is at least one available already) from the development section instead of taking the full update so you can still use a custom recovery and LOKI'd ROMs..

Thanks will do that
I would check out ShoStock-i MF3 or Venoms or Ax's International Roms. At all cost keep your MDL Bootloaders and have access to custom recoveries and flash WHATEVER you want. Safestrap is nice IF your stuck on MF3 but it has its limitations on what you can flash with it. Plus I am sure once the official tar drops for the ATT MJ9 firmware you will see some Roms based on ATTs stock firmwares and STILL have the ability to go back to other older firmwares if you want. With SafeStrap you are limited to 4.2.2 Roms at this time

Hello, I've installed tons of custom roms on quite a few different devices before, but this is the first one I've owned with a bootloader that can't be unlocked and I'm still kind of confused as to how all of these workarounds function and what ROMs they're compatible with. I've unlocked the phone and am using it on T-Mobile. It's currently on the MLD KitKat leaked version.
This is possibly wrong, but my understanding is that you are currently unable to install custom ROMs like CM and Omni on this device. So would it be possible to at least flash the stock T-Mobile ROM instead of AT&T? Right now, I have no access to hotspot, which is included in my plan, and I'd also like to use WiFi calling if possible. Has this been done before and is it possible on my firmware?
Thanks in advance for any help; it's greatly appreciated.

You can not flash their stock firmware. You can, however, use Safestrap to flash a ROM from their section, which as long as it is based from the stock firmware will have those features.
I have flashed HYPERDRIVE ROM with T-Mobile compatibility pack and works fine ! Even WiFi calling works!

Thanks, guys. I just got back from a trip and I'll be attempting this now.
Are there any AOSP-type ROMs that will work with this?

Also, if you havent done so, you might want to enable AWS for further compatibility. You will need to use the stock AT&T TW ROM in order to do so.

Do I need any sort of Loki kernel or can I just pick one and go with it? I'm looking at this rom right now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682842

Since you're using Safestrap, you can't flash a kernel anyways due to the locked bootloader. You should be able to go ahead and flash that.
I have been searching the forum for hours now, but could not find a definite answer. Please help.
First question: Is it possible to install Samsung I9505 MIUI ROM on I337 ?
Second question: If possible, can someone direct me to a tutorial?
I am asking this about Samsung Galaxy S4 i337 ( USA AT&T version) on 4.4.2
I would bet it is NOT possible for your i337. You say your on 4.4.2, so the only recovery available for your device is Safestrap. Since your bootloader is locked you CANNOT flash custom kernels. To run AOSP/CM/ and most likely MIUI required a different kernel than stock kernel. Safestrap on your device can ONLY run Touchwiz based Roms due to needing a stock kernel.
If you had the Original firmware like MDB or MDL and used Loki bootloader bypass you can run AOSP/CM based Roms and more than likely MIUI as well. With the Loki bypass those on MDB or MDL CAN FLASH custom kernels.

Thank you for the response. Then my new question: is there a version of MIUI that uses stock kernel? I remember reading that some people installed MIUI on bootloader locked galaxy s4 with Safetrap.
I haven't seen a MIUI thread at all. Sorry I could not be of any help with that. How old is the thread you saw? Point it out and I can take a look. Phones with MDB or MDL may have been able to since they use regular TWRP/CWM for recovery, but never seen one for Safestrap.

I am still on an older android, and rooted with recovery. How would one go about flashing the i9505 on here (i337)

Been trying to read and figure out as much as I can, but I'm lost. I rooted my phone right when I got it a few months after release. I have the MDL firmware and I'm running stock that I've modified to my liking. I rooted using motochopper, I have TB and SU and I have TWRP installed. I'm ready to take the jump and try to get an updated firmware, but don't know where to look. It seems a lot of the info in now for the newer firmwares.
I would like to run either Google edition or a modified TouchWiz I think. I like keeping things pretty clean and fast. I am currently running Aviate on top of TouchWiz and I like the clean organized feel of it, although a bit laggy.
Please help me XDA, sorry I know this is a newb post. I've been blocking the OTAs for over a year and I'm ready to move on.
First I would suggest NOT to use any STOCK firmware to update to 4.4.2
There are some newer Google Edition Roms I believe in the ATT original ANDROID SECTION. You can use them since you have twrp recovery. Those with newer firmware cannot use the latest google edition Roms unless they are made for safestrap.
Or if you want a modified stock Touchwiz with all the extra benefits you can flash directly to ShoStock-i 8.1 which is 4.4.2 based.
Keeping you MDL bootloader and the Loki bootloader bypass you have now let's you flash ANYTHING you want, including kernels.
If you update firmwares the bootloader becomes MORE LOCKED DOWN and you cannot flash any Roms that need a modified kernel like aosp based Roms, or any kernel other than stock.
Thank you ill check those roms out. I am aware that I DO NOT want to update my firmware, that's part of the reason I asked for advice, to see which roms work well with MDL. Most of what I found was all for newer FW versions.

Would I be better off upgrading to OUDHS Touch CWM-based Recovery 1.0.3.5 instead of TWRP so everything is auto Loki'd?

Sorry I haven't tried OUDHS so I cannot comment. But TWRP still works perfectly. For ShoStock you would NOT need to flash Loki-Doki patch or anything. The kernel in ShoStock-i is already Loki patched. If you plan on trying other Roms it is always best to keep the Loki-Doki flashable zip on your sdcard and flash it after flashing a ROM. Just extra insurance that won't hurt anything if the ROM is already lokified.
Ok going to try flashing this

Followed by Loki Doki
Hope I'm doing this right.
