im switching to the s4 , from the s3 , this is my uncles concern for hes data , he is wondering if the Whatsapp history messages , and SMS / MMS / and hes saved passwords for twitter , instagram , so he doesnt have to login , some he cant remember & contacts & pictures
is their an app for this ?
with blackberry this is done easily through blackberry link , the exact logs / history of my blackberry messenger is transfered , its as if my device transformed itself like a transformer to a better model in software and looks , but the data of everything is intact by its history of my first device.
yes in samsung store there is free app for transfering all from one galaxy device to another
samsung smart switch mobile
but personally i prefer titanium backup and go backup pro for any android device

Hello,
On mu iPhone 4S I've installed Whatsapp, but now I also want to have it on my galaxy tab 7.7, with on both the same number. Both are rooted/jailbroken and I found a file containing login codes in the whatsapp map on the 4S. Now I need to know, where those files are on Android, so I can also Wapp with my Tab. Its the wifi only version.
Thanks in advance,
Vincent
PS; xda dev app crashes on tab 7.7, when trying to create a new topic.
You can't have Whatsapp running on 2 devices with the same number. I tried that with 2 Android phones, did titanium backup on my original phone then copied that to the other one and did a restore but as soon as i had them both connected it crashed. got a message from whatsapp saying to only have one one device with that associated phone number.

You simply cannot connect two phones at the same time.
Whatsapp server will not allow that.
And to be clear, the login token is different across devices(even they all run android).
So you cannot just copy from one device to another.
I read something on the internet, aswell as on XDA, about someone who had an android phone, and restored a backup from it to its android tablet. Then he could switch between them, by turning off one of them. I would like to try the same. I don't care if it wouldn't work as expected, but I would just give it a try. So do you know were Android stores the credentials? If it doesnt work after copying them, I'd at least given it a try

When im inside the facebok application on my galaxy s 4, when I tap on an external link i.e. funnystuff24/7 it will navigate me to my internet browser then it will come up with an error message advising "please visit from your mobile phone! This page is made to work for mobile devices!".
I AM USING MY MOBILE DEVICE
I cannot fathom why this isnt working.
Troubleshooting I have tried so far:
- Deleting and Re-installing the application.
- Changing the default browser settings for facebook in case it was a browser issue
- tried requesting the desktop site wouldnt display.
- cleared data and cache both from facebook and the browser am using
- have used my friends samsung galaxy note 1st gen, logged her out of the mobile app for fbook and logged myself in tapped on the exact same link and it loaded just fine.
so all these had no success, it is clearly and issue with my phone but I really cant think what.
If you have any advice for me on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

This app will backup and restore your messages
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rerware.android.MyBackupPro
Your contacts should be backed up to google's servers already if you used it correctly
Titanium backup works great when backing up messages (includes sms and mms). Also backs up your call log and wifi passwords. Contacts I have them saved on my Google account so I don't loose any of them.

Titanium Backup works great, but you have to be rooted to use it fully

Hi all,
this forum is like a heaven for me , after switching from iPhone to Samsung and was stuck starching my head after purchased the NOTE 4 from CHINA .
so far i am on KITKAT , rooted , with CWM installed. I am having problem with contact sync.
i am not sure it is STOCK contact app causing this issue or the user app causing this. For example. I am using LinkedIn app , i would like this app to sync contacts with my phone book. I have few hundread contacts in linkedIn , but it is not syncing , if i try to add manually go to contact app setting and add the account of linkedIn , it shows me account with sometime empty sometime few like 10 or 20 or 39 , and sometime all disappear in the that particular group of account in contacts app.
So my question is , is this is because google is totally blocked in china , and when linkedIn send requests to Stock contact app , it has to connect with somewhere google network to let the sync happen . I am really clueless here. I was thinking to update the stock contact app but i am not sure if there is such thing available or not.
My stock contacts app showing the version number as 4.4.4-N9100ZCU1ANJ3 .
Please help me for this , i dont know its problem with linkedIn or andriod , because in my iphone linkedIn works like charm when it comes to sync new contacts and update the existing ones.
Please guide me and help me out for this matter.
Regards
and Thanks in Advance.

H I'm having many problems with my sm-9100 as well. Having problem installing apps, sending text messages. I know linkedin is blocked in china as well. So curious why this is happening.
hi guys
how i can transfer or restore all messages and media
from my old phone ( note 3 ) to my new s7 edge
please help me
thanks in advance
Yes, enable sync to Google Drive inside what's app
Or just make a backup in WhatsApp to your phone and copy the whole folder to your new phone.

Hi,
AFAIK Google Drive backups everything, including all media you shared with your contacts, maybe you're confusing that because your Google Drive is configured to back up every week (or every 7 days).
Don't think copying the folder would work because it is encrypted and maybe the key is stored in your mobile phone.
All the best,
~Lord
