Hey guys I was wondering if it was at all possible to link the volumes of ringtone and notification? I can't hear my phone at all when I am outside, and its a pain to constantly manually change volume settings.
Wasn't a problem on my S3 but then again that had a custom ROM.
Have to do a edit to framework-res.apk to enable it

Hopefully some devs will do this. I have no clue.

Hey guys I'm using the free xperia cm7 rom. I've managed to change my boot screen from the default cm7 one to the PlayStation one using files from another thread. I did this using adb push commands but couldn't for the life of me get the audio that goes with it to load. Anyone managed this yet?

Go ask doomlord on his kernel thread, he will know.
I think you have to copy the mp3 file to /data/local (delete the mp3 that is there with the same name)
EDIT: I tested it with the boot sound from that PlayStation boot logo and it didn't work...

I got it to work but didn't flash the zip. I opened it up and copied what needed to be copied over to my phone manually. You can go to the ORIGINAL thread which I believe is linked in his thread and it should work
Did the sound work? What Rom/kernel do you use? Because I copied them myself too, but the sound doesn't work

I just tried it on fxp119 with the included kernel last week and worked fine. Only thing that went weird was it made a green line appear near the top on my boot logo :/
Ehh... I'm using the stock rom, maybe that's why the sound didn't work. There are no green lines though

From what I see in AOKP ROM controls the way to have boot sound is to copy a file and rename as /system/media/boot_audio.mp3 . I'm not sure whether it's default or just here on AOKP ICS though... Have you tried it?
I've tried android_audio.mp3 but ill try that...if it helps my sound files are all .ogg

Maybe you should consider converting them to mp3? I'm not sure if ogg files can be played this way (on Android boot). Audacity should do the trick.
which ROM and kernel U used...
Kernel version
2.6.32.15_tyung_r14-g333fda

I tried modifying framework-res.apk with all of these values in bools.xml
Code:
config_allowAllRotations
Code:
config_enableLockScreenRotation
Code:
lockscreen_isPortrait
and was successfully in replacing the original without bootloop. Unfortunately, none of them works. Is there any truly working way without installing apps (e.g. Set Orientation)? All I need is just get the lockscreen go landscape.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
P/S: I am using Nexus 7 with root
Flash this ROM and then set lockscreen in settings.

I just use this app. No need to hack around and works great.
Take a look at "Set Orientation" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.eyesfree.setorientation

Hi guys. As I already said it in the title. How can I force an app to run in phone mode instead of tablet mode on the Nexus 7? I know you can do that with ParanoidAndroid Rom. But I'm on SmoothRom right now and it doesn't have that option, that's why I'd like to know if there's another way to change the UI layout of a specific app? 360px instead of 600px.
Thanks

Nope, you'd have to modify the build.prop, which modifies everything. That's why PA is a very unique ROM.

Hey XDA members !!
I've searched ALL over and can't find how (or if possible) to add the native Mobile Hotspot to the toggle tray drop down??
The toggles in the app store I am familiar with, and I use "HotSpot Toggle", but I'd like it in the Notification / Toggle dropdown drawers ???
Anyone achieve this ??
Thanks
PS: Stock ROM, no Root, no custom recovery.....
Thanks!!!
If I recall, Beans 4 had it in the toggle menu.
I just flashed B5, and it's not there since I think the JE update broke the work around. If you're on I9 or J7, you can flash beanstown106's B4 ROM and have what you're looking for
Thanks! I'll check B4 out with some research then.... I just went back to stock and was looking for a stock solution, but I can flash again if that is the only way.
I'm just very dependent on the drop down drawer!!
.edit.
