[REQ] Dropbox App Mod

I think this would prob go in the development section.. But, ya.
The latest version of the Dropbox app, 1.0.3.0, has changed the default directory that it stores downloaded files on our devices;
It used to be sdcard/Dropbox
Now it is sdcard/external_sd/Dropbox
I'm pretty sure they did this because, on other samsung gs phones (and the incredible), there were issues with the dropbox folder residing in sdcard/
I was looking around in the dropbox apk, as well as the data folder, hoping it might be a simple xml edit, but didn't discover anything.
Any ideas? On a side note, now it's got me thinking of theming the app ..which I think would be awesome.

I was annoyed by this and looked around for a way to change it too. Same result, nada.

Can you batch upload in this app yet?

No, I don't believe so- I have seen a 3rd party app that does this, though.

Separate note-- and another reason to have a modded version. Since this new version stores to: sdcard/external_sd/Dropbox/ the (android) image gallery does not recognize media in there.. which I don't understand why. (Maybe this should be a question posed in Q&A)
I have a dropbox folder for various wallpapers which can't be viewed now. I've traced the problem down to the external_sd folder. There is *not* a .nomedia in there, so there's got to be a different reason.
I ended up reverting back to 1.0.2.0 .. for now. They posted an update yesterday, 1.0.3.2, which only fixes the persistent running in the background, btw.

I'am still waiting the update here in France. Nothing came out yet.
I hope that they improved the connectivity of the device with computer and other stuff related to boot sequence.

But still got the "missing app-shortcuts in drawer after reboot" issue

I've had this missing apps in drawer issue including after installing ADW. I have to force ADW to restart before it sees them. I think what is going on here is that there is a bug. Whenever an app is installed, the Xperia Play app gets called and finds out if it's a game with Xperia Play support for adding automatically into your list of games. It's very possible that it is keeping the apps from appearing in the launcher for whatever reason.

oh that's nothing it happened to me too.
Don't care about that. just make sure you can select it and launch from the tab
having it in the xperia games menu is not a big deal
MTP app is charged of scanning the media and apps on your phone sometimes it act weird and need time to find out what is missing. it happened a lot when you purge data of MTP APP.
BTW people should not uninstall this program (it runs two service really important)

UK yes. I updated last night. Now on 2.3.3
My phone was rooted (bootloader LOCKED). I updated using the PC companion update thing. Followed the steps and all went smoothly.
Phone came back on, all settings remained in tact, launcherPro still set as default launcher, all apps and sync and data still the same, everything working.
Phone seems a little more responsive, added facebook features are neat (and probs more draining on my feeble battery).
Will have to see how battery life is.
BTW I'm on orange in the UK on contract.

Is there a way to go back down to 2.3.2 if we want?

Officially No!! If ur bootloader is unlocked u can flash older versions of the Rom with the flash tools

I couldn't imagine them doing anything specific just to (I'm sure only momentarily) annoy people with rooted phones.
If your market works now I'd say there's a fairly good chance the new one will as well. Although I cannot confirm it.

Anyone else getting problem with it not showing your installed apps? Only showing 11 apps when I just counted I actually have 55 apps installed. Don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall all them just so they show up.

A restart and a bit patience sorted the problem.
Overall I like it. Would rather there was a my apps button on the front page but in not going to go on a murderous rampage because its missing.

From what I can see it is a very data hungry application as it can take a while to fire up when network connection is on the slow side.

Ye, Google did say the update (which will go on your phone auto, so no need to go to settings and update) will be with us all between now and up coming weeks.

also even though it showed me one app being able to update it didn't allowed me to. clicking on it brought me to the apps details page and there i could only open or uninstall it.
i could onlly update apps if i had more than one by clicking update all.
p.s. oh and not to forgot: the amount of traffic it causes is extrem! a multiplactive of the old one, as if they would not cache the images of the apps showcase on the front page.

Agreed, same problem here, uninstalled the update. Don't like the new layout, hard to find things.

I have uninstalled the update and gone back to the last version. New one is almost unusable on anything other than a perfect cell connection.

Same here but i guess i'll keep it as it looks great,just a matter of few days to get habitual of it

when i click on download in new market it is starting to download for ages
when i reset phone it download the file immediately

Am I the only one, who thinks the new Metro-look (WP7 like ) is ugly?

I dont see any slowness. The only thing that bothers me is the updates. With the old one you could see the updates right away. With this one not so direct.

It's signed by Google, so It's unmodified (I guess?)

bro install app go to app settings and tap password if ticked or not ticked and set a password it will secure your purchases.....

I prefer the old one.

Wait for the update in your phone...
You know that by simpling installing a ROM in your phone it could have any .apk modified to steal your info... rite? Anyway, no one would do that... I hope...

The dumbest thing about it is placing the "update" and "uninstall" buttons so ultra-close together and making them so super-small. What happened to Google's UI common sense?
Now, every time you update an app, I have to be careful not to accidentally push "uninstall" and I don't even have fat fingers!

Nope, it seems to work fine for me on my SGS3

works fine on S3. But the look, i dont know.... maybe a bit to clean for me. Think i like the old one more.

It's kind of stuttery/laggy here. So is gmail list scrolling, so is YouTube app.
Seems like scrolling in lists does not work well on my phone. Web browsing for instance, is much smoother.
When installing an app with Play Store, it can actuallly be smoother than unloaded. I'm running MC3 fw, but the problem has always been present. Did a factory reset a few days ago, but it did not help.

Today I got OTA updates for the Album and Walkman updates and low and behold, NO MORE LAG! Smooth like butter.

Quite a few cosmetic changes.
Walkman now supports gapless playback.
Pressing the 'back' navbar button no longer exits the Walkman app.
Album app now plays GIF's.

Check Update Centre for the latest version numbers, hopefully they should be live for you guys!

Unfortunately there is no update in Update Center Album : 4.0.A.0.8, Walkman 6.1.A.0.2 It must be a major update for this applications.
