Camera failure

Recently, my camera is failing to save any image that is taken. I've tried every camera app I could find and several different roms including fission 2.4.3 and gummyjar 2.5
Can anyone help me with this? Any help is greatly appreciated
The problem started after I updated from fission 2.2.2 to 2.3.1. I posted the problem on their board and I got no response

Does your other media work like camcorder, music, etc?

The camcorder doesn't work. Most video playback works, but youtube doesn't. I don't use my phone for music, so I don't know about that.

99% sure you need to update your system. I hate to be a jerk, but this question is asked often. Therefore, I'm going to default to: search is your friend (Google or forum).

Does updatimg the system mean updating the kernal? Iv tried some research n I dont understand the benift, aLso, to update the kernal do u just install the zip under bootlaoder?

Have you messed with the DCIM folder on your SD card? Such as opened it and accidenctly sorted by date or size? I did that once and my cam wouldn't save a pic...let a lone even open the app. So I hooked my phone to computer and ascended the date from old to newest. meaning the newest pic was at the bottom of the folder. unhooked and rebooted phone and all was fine... just my two...

Obtaining Incompatible APK's?

I've purchased a fair number of applications I'd like to use on my N7 that are listed by the Play Store as incompatible, particularly Machinarium (which I'd really hoped to get into).
Of course a simple Google search of [application name] + apk + [rar/zip/mediafire/other obvious piracy related search terms] will likely get me what I want, but I'd really prefer not to go that route due to providence and, frankly, the fact that I paid for this, I'll figure out if it work or not.
Definitely have the SDK installed, definitely not very great at using it. Any help is well appreciated by my rain drenched weknd.

Are you rooted on your other Android device? You can use root explorer to pull the apks, then just dropbox/email them to the Nexus.
So... Download the app to a compatible device, go into the folder where they keep the app data, copy the apk go your sd card, and then email it or upload to dropbox.

No problem! You should find most apks in the/data/app folder.
Some are hidden other places, so you may need to "search" the file name.

You don't even need to be rooted. You can backup apps with astro file manager and then find the apps in the backups folder and send them to dropbox or however else you wand to send them

I ran airdroid on the phone and accessed it via chrome on the tablet to get a load of apps. Worked well just ticked the ones I wanted and downloaded a zip file.

If it isn't released yet, then does it mean that there may be some changes when released? I am asking because i had downloaded it a few days before.

It is released officially but only some devices have got the upgrade

It works for people in the usa at the moment, but if you install it in another country theres alot of stuff missing.Im in canada so im gonna hold off for a bit.

Canada is neat, eh?
I just downloaded and right away found a glitch. On the main screen it shows the apps books and blah but if you touch the side it has a seizure and starts moving left and right a million times. Really hard to explain.

This is new? My CM10.1 nightly, JB-4.2.2 skyrocket upgraded to this the first time i ran it weeks ago. But none of my <4.2.2 androids got the upgrade. I was assuming it was restricted to the new version of JB? I like it much better. Its simple, quick and looks boring, like it should. I will never miss the "keep shopping?" page!!! And lil Wayne blinged out on the home screen? Was googles lamest app by far! Im liking the new attitude much better so far.

Album app update available

Received a new update via the update centre for the album app, version 3.2.A.0.30. Can't see any differences from a first glance.

Not had any problems myself, uninstalled to see any difference and the update has improved the speed it brings up the thumbnails. Have to see if anyone else has problems.

Some one can share this apk？

I don't get the update, try several times OTA or via PC.

Which country's firmware you guys using? I don't see anything here in Singapore firmware, not even those previously reported app updates.

I've checked and don't have the update either. I reinstalled using EMMA to get 434 and remove some carrier bloat so not sure if thats why I can't get the update?

All I noticed from this update so far is that I had to re-sync all my Picasa albums!

Not sure about the others but World clocks adds an additional widget

Yeah World Clocks & Top Contacts are just widgets.
I really welcome Top Contacts, I used to use it all the time on my previous HTC phones and missed it when I got my Xperia Z.

this may be a lame question but it may also be one of the biggest concern.
Does sharing the apk file directly expose any private information from the original sharer? I know that photos are in the SD card and all, but for all security purposes is there a proper procedure to copy the apk file out without exposing sensitive information?
or do I just go system/app/album copy and paste it here?

No. App data is stored separately in /data/app/[package name]. Copying the apk won't expose anything. However the updated apk may not be in /system/app/album.apk (or whatever the name of the album app is), but may be in /data/app/album.apk. Just check the dates of the app and the more recent one should be the updated one.

Sprint users did not get it and i would greatly appreciate it if someone could upload it for me. A LG rep informed me there is one but sprint did not get it.
I tried like 20 other music apps and just not liking them

The apps are blocked. You can't install them at all I've tried. Unless someone makes a modification to the app or device OS sprint users will be sol. I also want the stock music, gallery and email from lg. I got ten bucks towards a pot if any of you would like to start a small bounty.

Hmm there might be a way around that. I was also looking to get the email app eventually. But i ran into a similar issue way back on a older device. I just need to find the apk.

There is a possibility that all of you have already tried this but... I could do a backup of the apk and post it. Then download it and see whether they work with your variant or not. (i mean, it worth a try, right? Let me know.

One is the music app and the other is the widget i believe. These ones are from T-mobile's variant, Nevertheless, it is worth a try

Let me try another method. And then im going to zip it. it would be less susceptible to get corrupted that way

There. If they dont work, then chances are carriers are becoming even more b**chier than they already are.
in the zipped file you will find: Music, music widget, and email app

Alright. I checked all the files on my pc using some tools to check for corruption and they pass the test. Which means that,,,, Your carriers are being b**chy. Perhaps the signatures of the apps are different, that's why it takes it as corrupted files. Then again, im barely starting to learn programming and all that, but i have been digging around on XDA since 2014 LOL. Anyway people, I WISH YOU THE BEST LUCK TO FIND THE WAY TO GET WHAT YOU WANT! :good:

By the way, have you noticed that no matter how you do the back up of the app, there is always a file with a format (systag)? that never happened to me with samsung galaxy s or notes devices. Then again, that file is only showing the apkpath as if it were presenting the file.

I believe the issue is happening because you can't sideload the apps, maybe placing them in system/app but for that we need root.
I may be wrong..

Ive tried several different ways. Even using an app to restore it.. Its a no go. Maybe because its a tmobile app and they use some kind of special security code that prevents other varients. But kbrn post above might be right... Might need to go in the system/ and require root...

same issue and im on att. kind of funny since this phone is marketed toward the audiophiles. play music does decently though

You'll probably have the same result, but here's 3 music APKs from my rooted T-Mobile V20.

If someone could get the gallery to work I imagine it's possible for the music app as well... I hope.

Want to see this work.. .I loved th LG music player back in the day and dont like play music so much

Can you tell me where in the device the file is stored? I checked system/app but do not see the music app. I do have it installed. I am on Verizon.
