Hi guys,
Today I got OTA updates for the Album and Walkman updates and low and behold, NO MORE LAG! Smooth like butter.
At least within these apps anyway, the system still lags a bit but at least Sony have made a small step to solving our problems.

o2 UK got the same updates yesterday! Seems to be a pretty speedy fix from Sony!

Check Update Centre for the latest version numbers, hopefully they should be live for you guys!
Unfortunately there is no update in Update Center Album : 4.0.A.0.8, Walkman 6.1.A.0.2 It must be a major update for this applications.

Hello P500 community
Well yesterday I updated my YouTube app to 2.5.16 thinking it was going to be a good update. I was wrong lol... There is a new like and dislike bar which looks nice but now there is no HQ for our devices. So I suggest that you don't update YouTube on 2.3 roms if you would like to have HQ. Just a tip :thumbup:
Edit: added YouTube 2.4.4 apk in case some of you guys updated and want HQ again :laugh:

by enabling this, you will only get HQ on data connectivity (i mean GPRS/EDGE/3G).
If you are using wifi connectivity, then this option wont help you.

Thanks, I found a way to disable update notifications in Google Play by unchecking 'Notify me about updates to apps or games that I downloaded'. I used this thread:

Yea I did the same thing... Every time I boot up I have 1 update from YouTube lol I just swipe it
I don't have a lot of apps so I update them manually

It was broken, and GB had a different UI from ICS, now ICS UI is also on GB and FroYo

I just downloaded and right away found a glitch. On the main screen it shows the apps books and blah but if you touch the side it has a seizure and starts moving left and right a million times. Really hard to explain.

This is new? My CM10.1 nightly, JB-4.2.2 skyrocket upgraded to this the first time i ran it weeks ago. But none of my <4.2.2 androids got the upgrade. I was assuming it was restricted to the new version of JB? I like it much better. Its simple, quick and looks boring, like it should. I will never miss the "keep shopping?" page!!! And lil Wayne blinged out on the home screen? Was googles lamest app by far! Im liking the new attitude much better so far.

Not had any problems myself, uninstalled to see any difference and the update has improved the speed it brings up the thumbnails. Have to see if anyone else has problems.

I don't get the update, try several times OTA or via PC.
Which country's firmware you guys using? I don't see anything here in Singapore firmware, not even those previously reported app updates.
I've checked and don't have the update either. I reinstalled using EMMA to get 434 and remove some carrier bloat so not sure if thats why I can't get the update?
All I noticed from this update so far is that I had to re-sync all my Picasa albums!

Not sure about the others but World clocks adds an additional widget
Yeah World Clocks & Top Contacts are just widgets.
I really welcome Top Contacts, I used to use it all the time on my previous HTC phones and missed it when I got my Xperia Z.

this may be a lame question but it may also be one of the biggest concern.
Does sharing the apk file directly expose any private information from the original sharer? I know that photos are in the SD card and all, but for all security purposes is there a proper procedure to copy the apk file out without exposing sensitive information?
or do I just go system/app/album copy and paste it here?

No. App data is stored separately in /data/app/[package name]. Copying the apk won't expose anything. However the updated apk may not be in /system/app/album.apk (or whatever the name of the album app is), but may be in /data/app/album.apk. Just check the dates of the app and the more recent one should be the updated one.

The latest Sony Media apps update is available for the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z (& Xperia Z Ultra) running on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). That's why you have the latest applications,cause you already have it on the previous firmware.
.244 are not receiving till now this ota updates.

Drama...absolutely accidentally looked now at the list of all installed apps.... guess what I have 2 Walkmans installed (old one ver.2, and new one ver.7).....
Glitch? What to do now? Of course there is no option to "delete".... should I just disable ver.2 , or leave it as it is .....??? thoughts???

ahh, i see. well, nice
but, i do have some feedback. my new camera was in the system, but i moved it out as a user app last week. it drained battery a lot hevier than before(old cam), and the camera daemon used more battery as well. i tried figuring out how to make it use less, but couldnt figure it out. i moved it out of the system to a user app last week, and now it uses much less battery

but, i do have some feedback. my new camera was in the system, but i moved it out as a user app last week. it drained battery a lot hevier than before(old cam), and the camera daemon used more battery as well. i tried figuring out how to make it use less, but couldnt figure it out. i moved it out of the system toa user app last week, and now it uses much less battery

strange, I use the camera in system with all my rom without any problems, I have no problems of excessive consumption ... well everything works very well
This is useful for people that don't wish to rely on Google services like the play store. I myself am paranoid on a much smaller scale, but people who are into security and experience paranoia have much different setups than a typical Android user.
