[App Request] S-Note Windows 8 App - Windows 8 General

Dear community,
the "S-Note" App is available through "Samsung Picks" for the Samsung Ativ Smart devices.
I have a Note 10.1 & Note 2 including S-Note for Android and it would be really nice to open those files on my PC.
You can also view it here:
http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/s-note/894a71cb-01fa-4da3-9b77-9e8b6877c686
However I can't download it to my pc
Thanks for any help,
Regards,
Wii

Would also like to get my hands on this app. I have a Note II and a Surface Pro. Would be nice to sync notes between the 2

I think I am switching to lecture notes instead of S-Note because this one has better export quality

Thanks to Ali.Asgari , he sended me the S-Note files
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...817-8082-37fc0adb3d84?page=3&tm=1369150843763
however I installed the app, but it won't start "this app could not be started"

It would be great if that also came as a win 8 app with better keyboard support.

We desperately need an all-platform note syncing app with s-pen support. And since Samsung is being a **** about it (as usual when it comes to customer care) we need some kind of a port for this app that will work on non-ATIV devices. I'd like to give it try. For starters, could someone please provide a working link for this ativ s-note win8 app from the store!? The one that is going around as 2 rar files is limited all the time.

the SPen is just a rebranded wacom stylus (made under license). As long as your app uses the windows stylus API it will work with Wacom, NTrig or "SPen".

OK. How can I use that knowledge to get the S-Note working on any Windows8 device?
Any working links for the existing one?

well, any modifications and redistribution of the existing SNote app would be illegal.
You want a cross platform note app, gonna have to make your own.

Why not use OneNote, it's available on Windows, Windows RT, Windows Phone, Android & more than likely iOS, it syncs and has stylus support.

Use OneNote. The modern version is free and supports Wacom styli.
That said, the way the Windows Store works is by accessing the Product Key. If it detects an OEM key, it lets you see their OEM store. Problematically, if you upgrade to a better version of the OS, you lose access to those apps.
The question needing to be asked is if someone can find a way to allow access to OEM stores. I read that it caches this info, and just uses that in the future. Maybe that can be used?

Could you please direct me towards the modern OneNote app which supports S-pen? l can't find any on GooglePlay. Maybe it is limited by countries? I've tried few random ones from google, but none of them supported s-pen, other than handwriting recognition implemented into Samsung keyboard.

There is only 1 one-note app and its on the app store supposedly for all regions. And it supports all Ntrig and wacom digitiser stylus (which includes the SPen as it is a rebranded wacom stylus).
Unless you mean one-note for other platforms, the android app does also support SPen but not the side button, of course only on an SPen device.

I have a Samsung Series 7 Slate that came with a generic Wacom Stylus (which my dog ate) that I have replaced with an S-Pen (they are 50%-75% cheaper to buy). S-Pen is just Samsung's branding for using a Wacom digitizer, because most people don't know who Wacom is, or what the hell a digitizer is.

I meant, there are multiple versions of it on various download places other than Google Play, as in OneNote 14...15...and up to the latest, which is 15.0.1917.2300.

Unfortunately, you are wrong about this. I can install the S-Note from somewhere else, but GooglePlay app on my Note2 doesn't find it. And if I google it from browser on my Note2, there is a link to GooglePlay app which doesn't show up in GooglePlay app. If I try to install it, it says it's not available in my country.

The only thing I seem to be able to use the S-Pen for (on my Note2 in OneNote 15) is handwriting-to-text recognition included in Samsung keyboard. I can't draw in OneNote as I can in S-Note. Am I doing something wrong?

Hm. Is there a S-Note applicaiton for Windows 7 too? Do you have it on your Series 7 slate?

Reread my post and you would see that when I said "there is only 1 one-note app" I was referring to windows 8, NOT android. Otherwise I wouldnt have mentioned one note on other platform later. The windows version is what I meant by available in all regions (supposedly).
I do not own an SPen android device. Got a friend who does, he has told me it works fine on his galaxy note (not the note 2). No idea if that is via the samsung handwriting panel or directly into the app. I would presume the latter as the SPen driver for android does supposedly fall back to raw touch input for apps not specifically supporting digitiser styluses, if thats not the case then thats very strange, go pester MS over it.

Ok. Sorry for misunderstanding. Thanks anyway.
I think there is no need to pester MS, because I'm quite sure OneNote for Android doesn't really support S-Pen, other than handwriting-to-text recognition. And OneNote is not really a good substitue for someone who uses SNote a lot, like me. So maybe we better get back on topic and try to get the Ativ Windows 8 version to work on any Windows 8 machine.

OneNote on Android doesn't support inking. MS seems to withhold it on platforms other than Windows.

To all the artists

Any artists out there looking to get this tablet? I am debating between this and my infinity. Biggest factor of course is the S-Pen. the only thing the infinity has going for it is a third party stylus, the Adonit Jot Touch, a bluetooth enabled stylus with pressure sensitivity.
NOTE: If any of you who already have a Note can provide a screenshot of a quick sketch that would be incredible.
I picked up the Note 10.1 to use mostly for sketches. I was planning on doing a proper artist review of the thing when I get a chance, but that could be a week out since I'm in the process of moving and taking a drawing class on top of my normal responsibilities.
You should know that the Jot Touch does not support Android yet. I have one which I use on the iPad. It's pretty good, but the s-pen is far superior.
Also, I'm not convinced the s-pen has 1024 levels of pressure. I believe it has 256 and Samsung is mistaken. At this point there's no way to prove it without some developer writing a little test app.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Great man! i still have 2 weeks on my return window, anxiously awaiting your sketches.
I asked this in another thread but since you guys are artists you may know. It might also explain the pressure sensitivity question.
BarryH_GEG said:
Maybe you can answer a question. I found this second OEM stylus on a site. It's supposed to have an eraser funtion on the other end of the pen in addition to being used just for input. In the description which is vague, it says "8PI." The included S-Pen says "6.5PI." What does PI mean and does a higher number mean the optional pen is more granular?
Included: GALAXY NOTE 10.1IN S PEN 6.5PI FOR BUILT-IN PEN SLOT
Optional: GALAXY 10.1 NOTE BLACK S PEN 8PI 2 PLASTIC 2EA 3 RUBBER 3EA TOOL

Here are some thumbnails I was working on for a still life. Just quick stuff. Maybe a minute each. The overall experience with snote is pretty good. The drawing tools are a little bare, but its not bad.

Looks traditional which is pretty cool and this was simply s note? Have you tried sketchbook pro yet?
Also I got my tracking information and should be getting my Note 10.1 tomorrow. So i'll have some feed back as well.
not sure where pressure sensitivity is in sketchbook express, but here are some quick thoughts: I'm writing this on the note 10.1 itself (the handwriting recog is surprisingly capable if you figure out what settings suit you and l write hard-to-read cursive) 1. pen doesn't lag but apps do 2. photoshop touch is crap for drawing, SERIOUSLY. The brush settings are pretty horrible and I could not get it to produce an ink like line that didn't look ****ty and pixellated. If you just want to paint blobs, ok. It can do that . 3. infinite painter is an option, layer paint is neat with a water brush tool like SAI's but you have to be at 100% zoom for it not to lag. I kind of like that one the best for sketch / painting purposes, 4. The tablet is fast and responsive, I don't care about the multiscreen thing and haven't Tested it. 5. it is definitely only capable of being a tablet which you can sketch for fun on,which is all l expected it to do, so I'm pretty happy and keeping my 32 gb version. This isn't a professional tool by any means. . 6. l hope better drawing apps come out, though. l just wanted something small with great battery life to replace my ancient tablet pc but no way will it replace my desktop and Cintiq combo. However as an on-the-go sketchpad it's fine if you can deal with the ghett o apps. 7. All penabled pens l tested work so far and it feels just like TPC pressure though that could be a software issue. 8. After testing like a million apps I had no time to actually draw anything, haha Someone see if sketchbook works with pressure and let me know Cheers!

Sketchbook Pro has pressure sensitivity. It has to be enabled in the settings. I'm not sure if it's available in Express, but it works good in Pro.
I generally like infinite painter, but it isn't optimized for this large tablet and is crashing constantly.
I'll check out layer paint too.

little sketch I did in sketchbook pro...it doesn't have pressure sensitivity yet, but I prefer it over PS touch and S-Note....the palm rejection works really well, and the s-pen is really precise...I had a transformer prime and I used a Bamboo stylus with it, but ithe s-pen is miles ahead, and the tablet is smoother and less buggy

Wow it seems pretty awesome. My prime also had squiggly line issues, but the infinity doesn't... I guess the only difference is the pressure sensitivity and HD screen.
In for more sketch inspiration.
I was about to get the new Cintiq 22HD but I couldn't justify the price for the actual amount of artwork I do. I wanted the Note to be the end all be all of Tablets but like someone posted above its strong points is data input whether it be sketches, notes etc. My IPad will have to continue to be my media consumption device.

Wow. It's a pretty awesome inking experience if you can get over the big UI. It's minimal, but lines are much faster than Sketchbook Pro.

Have you considered the Yiynova 10.1?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZR4CFiQEsU
The reviews I've read sound promising. But, it's still something I have to plug into my laptop. I'm gonna stop by Best Buy to try out the Note 10.1. Samsung's promo made it sound like PS Touch was the $h!+, but from this thread, it sounds like that may not be the case.
How is the speed and responsiveness? I tried out the Note (the phone) in the store while it had Gingerbread, and the response was just too slow for my taste (as in I would draw one stroke, and it would appear like a half second later). Would like to see how the 10.1 w/ ICS and quad-core Exynos does in comparison.

Wow these Note II features are AMAZING!

Check out the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DcgZum8M1o&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I assume we will be getting these as well in our software update since the Note II is only slightly more powerful. If so Im excited.
If we dont get these updates in our new device I'm going to want to know why.
These new features are far far far more powerful and cool than anything on our current firmware.

I also hope that we will get these features on the Note 10.1 with the JB update.

As cool as all that stuff is actually taking notes on a 5.5 inch screen is a gimmick. Taking notes on my 7 inch View was impossible. You need the real estate of a 10 inch tablet to really take notes.
Im just amazed that the firmware features on the Note 2 are light years ahead of what they gave us on the SGN10.1. Fingers crossed that Samsung doesnt try and screw us on the firmware update.
I hope Sprint will carry the Note 2. I am sick of ATT getting all the cool stuff.

All the new features are s/w so I don't see why they wouldn't. It's not like people cross-shop a giant note-taking phone against a 10.1" tablet. It also wouldn't make sense having to support two different versions of things like the gallery and S-Note when it's not necessary. Maybe some of the new APIs in JB allowed the introduction of some of the new features. The two I want that are the most practical are the lasso tool to capture content across apps and the ability to handwrite on the S-Planner. The Pen Buddy thing is cool but I’m more likely to lose the pen by taking it away from the tablet than the other way around. I accidentally threw the pen away on an airplane last week and a flight attendant (it was Alaska Airlines, they still do stuff like that ) and I sifted through garbage to find it.

If you hold your pen button down while long pressing on the screen it should take a screen shot and offer a lasso tool.
You simply long press on the selection box icon at the top of the screen and and the lasso option appears.

The work-around is to take a screen shot using the button on the pen (it pops up the editing tools) and crop what you want to re-use and paste it to the clipboard and then insert it in whatever you're working on. The problem is everything comes out square and shows the background. But it's better than nothing (hopefully) for the time being.
You need to long press the lasso tool then select the lasso rather than the crop icon

Ding. Ding. Ding! We have a winner! The lasso tool only shows up when in multi-view and when you've freshly taken a screen shot and only when you used the S-Pen to do it and then only gives you half the screen to edit with. It doesn't appear if you open a screen shot from the gallery even if you're in multi-view. It also doesn't let you capture something imbedded in an S-Note to use anywhere else unless you take a screen shot of it first. What you shared helps a lot but it's pretty stupid that it's not available universally. And of all the Samsung devices I've used this feature is without question the best hidden. And it's not like I wasn't looking for it.
Thank you both.

Well it does appear in pretty much any screen shot. You just have to click the rectangle tool once then long press it to get the options to show up to choose the lasso.
In other words it doesnt only appear in split screen.

Duh. Never mind. I got what you're saying. Any screen screen shot that you edit before its sent to the gallery can use the lasso tool in full screen mode.
Looks like they have refined all this quite a bit in the Note II. Hopefully for us too.

Thanks everyone for the lasso tool tips. Glad to see that it actually works as I was beginning to wonder! Definitely not as easy and fluid as some videos I've seen. Hopefully with an update it will become a more useful and natural operation.
Thanks again.
I'm hoping the OG Note and 10.1 get some or all of these new features, but I'm kind of doubting it. What better way to attract people to their new devices than by offering exclusive software features? Why do you think people flock to buy the newest Apple devices? To get the new software features that the previous generation is fully capable of running but won't get. It Samsung truly wants to differentiate themselves they'll bring all the features to their older devices, but it just doesn't make business sense. But who knows, maybe they'll surprise me.

Sorry man but as a former Apple user and wife and son currently still have 4 Apple devices, I must disagree with you. I My son's original ipad is running ios 5.1 just like my wife's new ipad. There is no camera or retina display on it so that does tend to hinder it in some ways. But overall Apple is very good at bringing past generations up to speed when new updates come out.

Just got the 10.1? Here's what to get! Apps and accessories.

The following apps and accesories are the best of the best that I've found thus far. It is my opinion that these work with the note 10.1 to increase productivity. I am not giving a review on all my apps, just the ones I find specific to the note with a emphasis on work/school.

I'm not going to say that this is the best USB/Card reader on the market because its not. This is the best priced USB/Card reader for how much I and probably most will use it. Of course I would prefer the OEM products however I just don't see spending $30 on something I barely use.
The problem with this card reader is that it falls out of the 32 pin port pretty easily, which can be extremely frustrating. For god sakes it $5 though and for that price i will deal with it.

Just as with the card reader, I'm not going to be using this all the time so the decent quality and price are the major factors here. Hey you might be replacing your laptop with your tablet so you may want a high end keyboard, but thats not what I'm doing here. That is not to take anything away from the quality of this product which is great.

OEM Samsung Case

I love this thing, I think mostly because its beautiful. Don't get me wrong it is functional but it looks good, really good! It has a magnet in the back for standing, however i find myself in positions that require it to stand with the leg out and pushing against my lap for a higher viewing angle. It is not completely protective of the tablet but it does do a pretty good job. I'm sure you can find lots of reviews and youtube videos showing you every angle of this case.
The problem people have with this case is that its hard to get at the moment. The prices have skyrocketed due to high demand. Well let me tell you how I went about acquiring one for 34 dollars. First of all you need to monitor prices (I use www.camelcamelcamel.com which monitors amazon prices for me and e-mails me when the price reaches a given goal). I waited till the case was down to $34 dollars, went to a local bestbuy and did a price match. The reason why I didn't just order from Amazon was it was out of stock and has been for a while now.

I have handed you two votes of thanks Ryan, not because it gave me something new but because it was evidently clear you made effort in getting your information across....:good:
Great initiative!
My addition will be:
CloudOn att Play, an app that gives you almost the full MS office into your tablet for editing and creating various types of office documents on your cloud services like Dropbox/Drive/Box etc. And as far as I can tell even all the more unusual shortcuts like Ctrl+D for super or subscript works. It gives you a panel with the F and Ctrl keys at the top of your software keyboard, if you aren't using a hardware one that is.
Freeware!
Autodesk Sketchbook, preferably the paid version for tablets. Makes painting and drawing on the tablet an absolute joy since it's supporting pressure sensitivity. Costs a few bucks depending on your location.
Google translate, no further explanation needed.
UC Browser HD, the best browser I've tested so far! Supports alot of finger gestures that makes browsing an absolute joy. Freeware!
Touch Retouch, an app that removes unwanted photoboms almost automatically. Try the freeware version, it's even recommended in the Note 10.1 tips and tricks app from Samsung!
Edit: Of course, the XDA app even if it kinda goes without saying.
Simple Calendar, the best app for making calendar widgets imo!

I'm thinking of adding links for alternatives under all of the apps I listed. I do like that it has opened some discussion for apps that people prefer to the ones I've chosen to use which i think is great.

Yes for the premium account but the free account gives you 60mb of photos/PDFs a month, and 250 notebooks, and 100,000 note cards. After you read my first sentence, you will think that it isn't a lot, I once did. But if you have 5 classes that would be 250(notebooks)/5(classes) = 50(notebooks per class). Thats seems like a lot. Then if 100,000(notecards total)/50(notebooks per class) = 2,000(notecards per notebook). I think that 2,000 notecards per notebook is a lot. I have about 4000 notecards, and still have 96000 left.

I partially agree. For a 10.1 tablet a dual-pane file manager is much better than a single pane one and it eases many operations.
Anyway I prefer Total Commander.
I've used for ages (say... 15 years (?) ) Total commander for Windows and only lately I found out there was an Android version too! It works great for me.

I've heard that it does, not having one I cant confirm.
Every x86 Windows box I know of acts as a USB host. The more pertinent question is whether these 8" can supply 0.5A, or more likely, 0.1A. The hope is that there's enough juice to power your USB key, but I really doubt a 2.5" USB HDD is gonna work. Of course you can always add external power.
BTW, here's a nifty gadget peeps may want to pick up for USB charging

Hmm, kinda cool. I just have a few hacked up USB cables instead though.
You can always use a Y splitter cable or mains powered hub to provide external power to your device. Y splitter cable plus one of those portable USB power supplies for charging phones from may work nicely.

Not at all. Windows 8 and RT do not support acting as a USB device like android and iOS do. So you cannot connect them with a micro USB to the computer. No windows 8 or RT tablet so far has supported this feature. They have all so far supported USB host so you can always use a memory stick, most likely the venue does support it too, no reason not to (not even cost, seriously).

I ordered one too. I definitely have a gadget addiction. This is my 4th windows tablet. I have the Ativ 500 t, the Lenono 10in, and the Acer 8in. I have been looking for the right fit for work and 8in seems to be the right size. The Acer was better than the reviews but I really want a pen with OneNote. Since you have experience with a stylus and windows 8 together what have you found works best for document editing? Do you prefer to print to one note and then mark it up? I really liked the Note 10.1's system that's basically takes a screen shot and lets you draw on it but the price/performance is not there so I ordered the venue pro 8 instead.
Well I also have the Note 10.1 too but don't use it for work so I am not doing any editing of documents
I use the pen in windows to take hand written notes in OneNote and to markup documents. The biggest value is OneNote and the integration into Outlook, office and Windows Explorer.
Hopefully this is the perfect device for me to take in and out of meetings, tie meeting notes through Outlook and One Note. I think this size will be perfect since it is lighter and smaller than the Acer. My only concern is the pen writing experience.

Or you could run it in Virtualbox, but yeah, that might be cool tool.
I was surprised to see that the digitizer in this is pressure sensitive and it's made by Synaptics, not Wacom, like on the Galaxy Note series.
I only wish the resolution was a tad better, but that's what the Dell Venue 11 pro is for, I guess.
The price point is very nice for both though, might have to pick up my first Win8 device, although I was planning on skipping the whole OS.

Why did you choose Note Pro?

I have a asus laptop I bought 6 years ago. It runs win7 but not very smooth while using chrome. So I am thinking of replacement. I am a note 2 user and I am satisfied with it because of its enough large screen. I wonder if I could really abandon x86 PC and only use note pro. I would like to hear uesr's advices and reasons before I decided to buy it.

I have a NotePro and use it for a lot of different tasks including for work utilizing the Office apps. I find it to be her user friendly and functional for about 98% of what I do in a typical day. However, I don't find it useful as a complete replacement for my windows computer.
I scubadive and use a gopro camara to take video. It generally requires a lot of editing andbwith the large file sizes it's just not practical to use the NotePro. In fact I haven't found any video editing software that does a decent job.

I have a 1Tb drive that I use with my NotePro. I was able to read it when it was formatted ntfs, but not write to it. If you are willing to root your NotePro you will be able to do both.
As an alternative I formatted my drive using exfat and now have no problems. I think exfat has a drive size limitation but not sure. It works fine with my 1Tb drive.

I always cringe when I see threads about potential for a mobile device to replace a PC or laptop. The good thing is that they are posted to begin with though which means that you're looking for opinion in order to figure out whether things will work for you before you purchase the product and your expectations are left unmet.
I'm a gadget geek in a way. Active mobile devices in our house we have a include a Nexus 4, Moto X, iPhone 5s, iPad2 and the Note Pro 12.2. Retired devices include a Nook Color, Nexus 7, Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC One X, iPhone 4, and a handful of iPod touches. Some of the retired stuff is still here collecting dust, the rest given away or lost. I started out an iOS user but now leave that stuff to my wife and am a full android fanatic.
My daily driver is the Nexus 4, and I carry with me to/from the office daily the Nexus 4, Galaxy Note Pro and my retina Macbook Pro. When I go mobile I carry just the Nexus 4 and Note Pro.
I purchased the Note Pro primarily as a media consumption device and secondary as a note taking device. It's serving both purposes very well. Most of my leisure time is either spent browsing forums such as this, reading tech websites or the news, magazines or watching videos. I find that the Note Pro is perfect for this.
For production work though there's no way I can see this replacing my computers. For other people though it's possible as long as their needs aren't too advanced. I'm reading in various forums that for people that do a lot of writing the Note Pro is working out well. The word processing capability is there as long as your formatting needs aren't too complex and you have no need to collaborate with others (track changes and comments etc.).
My idea of production is large Excel worksheets with lots of references to other workbooks or sheets, complex Word documents with advanced formatting, tables, images and most importantly full track changes support, and a full Adobe Creative Cloud suite for graphics/video editing. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a power user.
The Note Pro fits well into my lifestyle. I use it more than my macbook now and only grab my macbook to do long posts or other advanced work.
I'm having trouble with my USB OTG cable. Its an older USB 2.0 version cable adapter and while keyboards/mice work with it I'm unable to read hard drives and flash drives so I'm waiting on a new cable to come in from Amazon. Hopefully that will fix my issues with NTFS mounting.

Wow, I am glad to see another Nookcolor user. I used to have one until I got iPad2. I sold it out. As an prototype android tablet user, I have to say the development of microchip is more than my expectation. I remember that nookcolor only can play low quality videos and browsing internet is slow. Now the current mobile device can easily play any 1080p video and can do a lot things that I used to do on PC. I know mobile device can not replace x86 PC entirely, but it could spend me a lot of spare time when I stay at home. At office, I watch my laptop all day. You know excel, word ppt pdf and IE! So I do not want to watch any Microsoft stuff any more. I play video games on PSVita and Xbox, reading articles on my note2 or kindle, watching movies on Ouya(android based game console, tegra 3 chip,it can launch XBMC).My wife always holds iPad. But sometimes I still have to use my old laptop to download moives or something else. When I saw Note Pro on the engadget, I think it may suit my desire→Mobile and Powerful. I suppose its screen is better than most of windows laptop. The only thing I am concerned about is the price. $650 on Amazon. I have to buy another bluetooth keyboard or a cover with a keyboard. As an alternative option,I could pay more 200$ for macbook air or surface pro 2. It is obvious they are more powerful than Note Pro. Both them are also enough mobile and have a long lasting battery. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I hear ya. It's a tough decision. For me, I love tinkering so much that I have chosen to stick with an android device. It's nice having more choices now.

Very nice discussion...
I'd like to share my experience that may help.
I have a Dell XPS (i7, x64) with 8g RAM and 750 hd, Note 2, IPAD AIR and Note pro p-901.
I was using the dell xps everyday untill a year ago until I bought the note2 then the IPAD AIR which are really amazing in almost everything, net surfing, browsing, movies, videos, music,.....etc.
Then I got the note pro which has replaced them all.
It is really faster than the dell xps regarding reading, browsing,....etc.
But to be clear, in case of editing or writing formal documents or doing any job I get back to the dell laptop...
When travelling abroad for a workshop, confrence or or a congress I depend only on the note pro......
The choice between a laptop and a tablet is a personal choice and depending on your usage.
The laptop is the ideal for a business use and the note pro is the ideal for taking notes and for entertainment...
Very well said.

Agreed. I chose the note pro mostly for portable media consumption, at home or on the go. For those reasons, i am very satisfied with my purchase.

I have had no trouble with "formal documents. I edited large transaction letters with letterhead and all no problem. I can see the heavy excel leaving device short, but if need badly can just RDP in to your laptop at home. If you need a laptop, you need a laptop. Not many of those type will look at this device to do work, though it is capable of most of it,

Here is a nice tip, you can enjoy controlling remotely and comfortably if you use the Samsung mouse. It will add more pleasure to your Note Pro (laptop).
I am using the keyboard and the mouse in almost everything (except playing games)...

Thanks for the compliment and tip. If you look more closely my pic, you can see my Logitech ultrathin touch mouse and mousepad to the right of the note pro.
LOL
At first I noticed some thing black beside the Note Pro, but I did not recognize what was it....
And you explained the black unknown object to be a mouse and its pad.
Best Regards

I bought the NotePro because I felt 10.1" was just too small for me. My old Asus TF700T had pretty much reached the end of its life, so I needed something new.
Does it replace my laptop? God no!
I'm a gamer, photographer and designer. I absolutely can not work without the Adobe Master collection, which is still not available for Android. And 99.99% of the games I play are not capable of running on Android, either. My work involves Photoshop Indesign and Illustrator, so no means of using it there.
I do use it as a laptop/netbook replacement on the go, though. It serves its purpose brilliantly for most of my non-serious everyday use. I'm using it with a Logitech M705 Marathon and a Logitech Wireless Keyboard K360. Still looking for a decent stand, though. I hate flipcovers.
I'm also using a Wacam Bamboo Feel stylus made specifically for the Note series instead of the Spen. (The Spen is perfect on my Note 3 but just feels too small on the 12.2)
By the way
Note Pro is very nice for those interested in Facebook and Google +
Cause it is very easy to share everything anytime every where
Multi windows feature is really amazing
Pen window
Screen capture and write
Hand writing
Google now
I like this note pro and it is really much better than IPAD air.....

I also have a wacom pen, but when I try to write is about 2-3 mm misaligned (do you know any solution for this problem?), I bought an Samsung hm-5100 pen-headset but I would like to fix my wacom pen also. Thanks!
