[Q] Triangle Away won't run on Rooted S4 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I try to run Triangle Away it says: “Could not locate hidden partition. Ar you not running ICS?”
What am I missing?

TriangleAway doesn't support S4 yet, respected Chainfire is on vacation, wait for him to return.

Version 1.90
I know there is a newer version but if I can't open it, I can't update it and the new one is $3.00. Do you think the newer one would work?

download the last version v 2.90 from Here. see if it is compatible with s4.
(some users report that it worked. DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK!)

Triangle Away v2.90 is compatible with my rooted (MDF) S4 GT-I9505.

I can confirm that V2.90 works on my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 also.

I need confirmation for GT-I9500 please

See the attached ..

it works on the T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, at least the reset counter part, have not tried the reset the custom status in the status section in the settings

may be u didnt root ur device well

It's simple. As things stand Triangle Away works on rooted Qualcomm S4 phones (I9505) but not on Exynos (I9500, I9502 etc). Im sure Chainfire will rectify this in due course.

Hi there,
I installed v 2.90, run it, reset counter (it said 16), after that phone freezes, need to take battery out. After that reboot, but counter still shows 16.
Question: what did I do wrong?
PS: phone rooted!

Sonetimes you need to press the reset button a couple of times. Mine hung the first time too. Just run it and reset it again.

Your status needs to be set to "OFFICIAL" before you can reset the counter. Flash an unmodified recovery and set the temporary SU disable option in TA.

There is nothing you can do at the moment on the I9500. The latest ver (2.90) of Triangle Away is not compatible.
Hopefully someone will have a fix soon.

And for the I9505 ?

[Q] Reseting Binary Counter (I9500)

What up guys, so was thinking of finally rooting my phone and flashing all these beautiful roms, but my problem is that we can not reset the binary counter using ...or thats what i know. All I know is that triangle away isn't yet supported for the I9500 model and so my question is..does anyone know if there is an actual way to reset it or if anyone knows when Chainfire will release the compatible update.
Thanks
Stay Cool.

No. there is no way till now to reset the binary counter
You can flash a pre rooted ROM via ODIn and it would not increase the counter and you would also have root

The 9500 once you flash an official Rom the binary comes to official as it was no need for tringle away

Due. You are confused. There are 2 things Device Status ( what you are talking about ) and Binary Counter ( what i am talking about )
What You are Saying that Is in regards to Device Status and Not Binary Counter,
Please Read through XDa to understand the Difference between the 2

- Flash stock rom from sammobile via Odin
- Root using chainfires cf auto root
- Install and use triangle away
- Use permanent unroot option in SU app
- Do a factory reset
After that everything is back to stock.

trouble flashing ROM

Hi Guys
I suspect this might be quite simple but I seem to be missing something, I rooted using towelroot but when wanting to flash new RON ( Assassin )
when I boot into recovery the little android dude is lying down with a red warning triangle on top and it says ...no command...
I can select the file from SD but it doesn't start flashing.
I'm no wiz at this but did mange on my note 2 with the dittonote3 ROM
Have I missed a step somewhere ????

CWM didn't take the first time. Check you have the right version for your Model/OS - reflash it, then you're good to go :good:
