At start up I get a black screen the says Samsung with a unlocked lock with the word custom under it. After that the phone starts normally and runs fine. I just know I tried to unlock my ATT phone with a different sim and the got the wrong unlock code from ATT. Since trying that I get this black screen when starting up..

[Q] Bypass Emergency Call screen to go Wifi only?

I have been trying to get past the No SIM card Emergency Call only screen to no avail. The four corners thing worked fine on our Cliq and Droid 2, but not on the Flipout. I don't need to root or unlock, I simply just want to use it on Wifi only... possible?
Thanks in advance.
Bypass Emergency call screen (solved)
Hi there Imanta...
I am also a new member & I had this exact same problem a few days ago. My Flipout for no apparent reason started refusing my orange 3G sim (No sim) and would only boot to emergency call screen .
The workaround for this problem I found to be simple . Insert a sim from a different carrier (I used virgin mobile), boot phone, when fully booted you should be presented with the phones network unlock screen giving you 2 options.
1: Enter network unlock code.
2: Dismiss.
Choose dismiss option & the phone should boot to its home screen unless you did a factory reset before inserting other carrier sim. If you did a reset then the phone will ask you to set a few perameters before booting to home screen.
Once fully booted the phone will be fully functioning albeit without carrier network access. You can also remove the wrong carrier sim & insert your own sim back & the phone will continue to boot to home screen from off until a wipe/factory reset is done again.
I hope this helps with your problem...
Stay Breezy & Be Lucky...
Peace....

[Q] T-Mobile US HD2 screen not responding/working at all.

Hey, my HD2 screen out of nowhere stopped working.
I was on stock 6.5 and it didn't want to unlock it sometimes did unlock and the screen worked for like that time until I locked it and turned it back up.
I installed Android 2.3.4 and the screen still doesn't work. It shows the welcome to HD2 screen and touching the little green android don't do anything.

Maybe Bricked? Frustrated. Guideance Appreciated :(

I'm fairly new to this, bear with me. I'll try to include lots of detail. If I'm asking or posting in the wrong area, just let me know. I've been trying to do this without any hand-holding, but it's been pretty frustrating and it's a lot to soak in and I think I probably got something wrong.
My S4 seems to be partially bricked.
I was given a retired S4. The phone is locked to Bell in Canada (It's an SGH-I337M, not a 9500 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S4#Model_variants ). When it was given to me, it had Cyanogenmod 11 on it. The previous owner is techsavy and tried to unlock it, paid for several websites to give him codes, none worked and they refunded. This was when the S4 was new, he hadn't tried since.
I wanted to use it with Rogers. I was happy to just pay for an unlock code, but, it seemed I needed to be on the original firmware. So I learned how to use ODIN and downloaded Bell's original firmware. As suggested here: ( galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-stock-firmware/ ) and I picked the Bell one ( stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS4/SGH-I337M/I337MVLUAMDJ_I337MOYAAMDJ_BMC.zip ). It seemed that I needed to downgrade anyway to get most of the carrier unlocks to work. (In Canada, IIRC, there was no region lock, just carrier, but regardless it spent two years on a Bell plan).
When I finished using ODIN, successfully, the phone restarted but now appears to not complete booting or be able to flash a new ROM of any kind, at least by methods I've tried.
On powering up:
1 - "Samsung GALAXY S4" in curvy font.
2 - Blue swirly animation of Samsung.
3 - Do do do do doo dooooooooo, audio.
4 - Blue LED in top left stays lit.
5 - SAMSUNG in white on black screen stays there, pulsing with blue light occasionally.
6 - It stays here forever.
It never finishes booting, and it's a hell of a power draw the phone got hot after an hour.
When I try to boot into recovery, I get the blue text in the upper left, but it just reboots.
When I try to put it into download mode, I get a green warning about custom OS's, I can use volume up to agree or volume down to cancel. Either way, it just reboots.
If I try to power it down without pulling the battery, it just boots up, same loop as above, and stays there, pulsing the logo forever.
I can't get to any diagnostic screen, but maybe I'm trying the wrong ones or the wrong ways.
How badly did I mess up my phone?
I'd like to just use it as a camera even, if I can't get it to unlock so I can use Rogers, but it seems I've messed that up now too.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. If you need more detail, I'm happy to give it. (Sorry for bad links, new user, can't post links).
Download from Sammobile the stock rom for your model and flash it in download mode wit Odin

Don't worry you are fine. Just try to flash another stock rom.

big issue.. phone locked

Hi guys, I've powered on my G7 after a quite long time to use it as a dummy phone, and? White screen with the warning which says that the phone is locked and waits for a fastboot or something similar. The problem is that I cannot unlock the bootloader because I can't get the model number from the OS, and I can't get it from nowhere else.
If you can help me... Thanks a lot.
Stefano.

After *#2663# and Refresh WiFi Version Phone Shows Unlocked Padlock on Boot

I bought a brand new non-contract S8
I have had issues over the last day with the bottom half of the screen not responding to swipes/'key' presses.
Read in forums to try the code *#2663# and then click TSP FW update (General), except whilst i was on that screen i accidentally clicked Refresh WiFi Version.
The Refresh WiFi Version caused a restart which was fine as i have not experienced any issues at all due to that action, except that now every time I boot the device, it is showing the unlocked padlock animation on startup.
Is that indicating the bootloader has become unlocked?? Or is it something else? How do i re-lock it?
If I have to return this phone as fault, i want it to be in as similar condition as i received it in as possible.
Thanks all.
You are seeing the secure boot animation. It just means that the data on your phone is encrypted at rest. No need to change anything. This is actually a good thing.
